Woman’s Review Of Eyeliner That Stays Intact Through Harrowing Car Accident Goes Viral, And It’s Hilarious
After something as horrific and devastating as a car crash, small crumbs of comfort suddenly take on a much greater importance. When your world has collapsed around you and your face and body is all beat up, the fact that your makeup still looks boss can be enough to lift the spirits, just a little!
This was the case for 25-year-old Boston nurse Shelby Pagan, who was hit by a car doing 55 mph by the side of the road after running out of gas. “I was treated for cervical strain, closed head injury, head laceration and knee contusion. I participated in physical therapy for a few weeks and have recovered,” she told Bored Panda. “I consider myself lucky to have walked away from the accident relatively unhurt and alive.”
After taking a picture of herself for police to use as evidence, she was pleasantly surprised by the durability of her eyeliner. After all the crying and wiping of blood, it still looked amazing and she received many compliments on an Instagram post of her selfie. So she decided to leave a glowing review on the site of the product. After all, if an eyeliner can survive post-crash sobs and hospital treatment, it’s definitely doing its job!
Her hilarious review was boosted by Twitter user Lahari Manchikanti, who spotted it and had to share. Her tweet went viral and Shelby’s review has attracted the attention of hundreds of thousands. People have even started sharing their own post-accident makeup pics! Shelby has taken the unexpected attention in her stride. “I think the reaction is comical and in all good fun,” she told us. “I definitely never in my life thought I would become a meme! I originally reached out to Lahari to tell her it was me. Her post was pretty damn funny, although no one likes being the butt of a joke, it’s something I would have done. If you can’t laugh at yourself what is your life?”
The makeup brand have definitely gotten some good exposure from Shelby’s review, to the extent that people reckon that she should get a little recognition. It turns out she has! “I woke up this morning to Kat Von D leaving some hearts in the comment section of my Instagram,” she told Bored Panda. “It’s kind of surreal that someone I’ve always looked up to noticed me. Everyone keeps saying ‘she deserves free make up!’ And I’m over here thinking in a dream world I’d get a tattoo done by her.” Who knows Shelby, maybe one day…

i'm actually tempted to wear some myself, and that's not even my thing.
Be careful, it seems like people who wear it end up in emergency rooms!
I was thinking the same too.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaang. Can't wait to see the ads for this... Tired of smudged makeup? Try our new eyeliner! It stays on, even after you get hit by a car! *Insert footage of someone wearing the eyeliner getting hit by a car* *zooms on face* See? Still on!
Driver that hit a woman who nearly died is still unknown, but yes, let's talk about her makeup. Her eyeliner is really on point.
The -owner- of this account didn't post that. Her friend did, could you guys please not rant? It's filling my activities with spam and negative messages for something I didn't write.
*sigh* i absolutely apologize if you found it offensive, but i genuinely didn't write it. i know this sounds like the generic excuse everyone uses, but it is true. i even liked a post similar to this one on Instagram long before i read this one.

You absolutely wrote it, and you absolutely deserve responses.
some ppl just have their priorities straight, or I should say in a perfect arch
It doesn't say the driver is unknown.. it says the reason he/she hit her was unknown.
SHE was in the accident. SHE wants to talk about the eyeliner. YOU need to shut your judgey face and let her talk about what she wants.
This.
So you're saying she shouldn't make light of a bad situation? How is it wrong of her to have a little fun? Is she going to hurt the feeling of the unknown driver? Explain. Should she be relentlessly trying to hunt that person down in her messed up state?
It was supposed to be a joke.... She didn't die, decided to take a picture, and post a review because why not. And also, she needed it for police evidence.
How dare she try to make light of a terrible situation for her, what was most likely one of the worst days of her life. She should've known that it would upset you.
And what is wrong with that? What else can she do now? Why not having some fun, do something funny.. Jezz, you ppl are sometimes so stiff

She manged to make light of an incident she seems fully aware was very serious. Rather than dwelling on it and heading into all those dark places she put on a smile, made light of it, and moved on. Good for her, lots of us can learn from that.
