This adorably spooky hairless cat is named Jasper (jazzy.purrs on Instagram) and the internet seems to be absolutely in love with him. Currently, this internet-famous cat has over 57,000 fans on Instagram and we're not surprised about it at all.
As you've probably already noticed, Jasper doesn't have both of his eyes. And there's a pretty heartbreaking story behind it. Apparently, the kittie was adopted at 2 years old and at the time he was seemingly healthy. Then, in November 2013, Jasper got a corneal ulcer in his right eye, and the only option to save him was to get it removed. After a few years, he ended up with a corneal ulcer in his remaining eye, which also got removed. All in all, the cat has definitely been through a lot, but he turned out to be a super happy kitty who's currently 12 years old.
Bored Panda invites you to take a look at 70 photos capturing the adorable Instagram-famous kitty Jasper.

i feel sad for him...he can't even see and looks dead..i feel sad for him.. edit: i know this is meant to be funny (or something) but it kinda makes me sad T~T
Cats do fine blind, so there's no need to "feel sad". They can adapt easily to life without sight, and having a blind cat isn't much different than having a sighted cat.
Load More Replies...While it's reassuring they did what needed to be done (I would have too!) I can't imagine waking up and not being able to see anymore, and not really have comprehension of why.. It makes me sad too. But kitties! Kitties being loved and cared for! I couldn't want more.
Um that golden nose is bacteria, likely fecal matter from licking his bum.
Load More Replies...I know we're all supposed to say, "awww", but he looks a little creepy with those eyes. Would still nuzzle, but that would take me a few days to get used to, however I think hairless kitties look like old man balls as is.
Do you wonder if the lick feels the same on his skin as it does on yours.
Jaspur is fine. Cats adapt well to being blind, and having a blind cat isn't much different than having a sighted cat.
Load More Replies...I think both the parent and Jasper are so special the world needs more people like these!
Nope! I mean the kitty seems to enjoy it, but holy nope on a nope stick made from a nope tree in a nope forest!
Just don't. It's hard to tell if it's comfortable or not, but the socket was never meant to be covered by "outside" skin and to be touched. There is an eye nerve still ending at the back of it. I have had two cats with, luckily compared to Jasper, only one eye removed and I never ever ever ever ever ever felt the urge to give a socket a "good scritching".
He leans in to the scratching. We'd don't shove our fingers in his eye socket and go for his brain. He tries to scratch his sockets by himself but only a finger can get the job done lol A lot of people assume he's made of glass, he does fine. He's still a cat and does cat stuff, even if he is naked and eyeless.
Load More Replies...when people wake up in the middle of the night and say ahh i cant see.*this cat* what u say boi
Absolutely! No cat wants to eat right next to where they poop and pee!
Load More Replies...I'm not worried your cat would have some of these marks if you shaved its head.
This baby is lucky to have a good momma...I wish her the very best.
What a sweetheart! <3 No cat could ever scare me, not even an eyeless cat, I fall in love with all cats instantly. :-)
A strong warrior cat this one. I do wonder how he lost his eyes, but I'm so glad that it doesn't seem to bother his every day life that much. He's such a loving creature
At first, I was surprised and in shock. After all, eyeless cats are not regularly seen. I feel bad for Jasper. As a person with bad vision, imagine none at all! Maybe if technology advances faster, Jasper could see again. :)
He is a strong guy to go through that pain. ( and does he remind anybody of the mewtwo pokemon?)
