It means nothing. Bergoglio has been protecting paedophiles all his life. When he visited Ireland he lied by saying that he had never heard of Magdalene laundries or mother & baby homes, which were two the most notorious institutions which enslaved and murdered women and children. When challenged by our head of government and Minister for Children he stonewalled the points they made, especially the points about the Tuam babies.As he left Ireland he made an appalling comment to the effect that gay people were mentally ill and required psychiatric treatment. This is purely because Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Minister Katherine Zappone are both openly gay. He has done nothing, and will do nothing, for the victims of the church.

Monks take a vow of poverty, not priests. But this is WAY out of line with Who they profess to be following—the one with the gold. Notice the stark difference on the one on the right. Much more in line. I highly recommend the movie “Shoes of the Fisherman”. It was made in the 60’s and has Anthony Quinn. Excellent!

Francis. Not a Catholic, but he is the only one to my knowledge who has actually tried to spread a message of accepting all of your "neighbors." Not just the straight ones or the white ones. As far as the sexual abuses go, he seems to the most vocal about punishing the abusers and those responsible for covering it up. Unfortunately as with any big business, the guy at the top has little to do with the guys at the bottom so unless the Vatican is willing to go church by church help to prosecute the abusers and unless the lobbyists stop trying to get shorter statutes of limitation to laws governing how long a person has to pursue legal action against pedophile priests, nothing is going to change.
