I Just Travelled 24.000km Through North America And Took Home These Incredible Pictures
My name is Guido Diana and September 2016 I decided to fulfill my long life dream to travel and photograph North America. With more than 24.000 km traveled by air and road, I witnessed some of the most incredible scenery and adventures.
During my three months of travel, I have seen the yellow aspen fall colors of Colorado, the incredible lakes of the Canadian Rockies, drove San Francisco’s Golden Gate bridge, Stood at the foot of the Grand Canyon, had an encounter with a wild grizzly bear and saw much more breathtaking views!
What I saw in North America blew my mind, and in my opinion, this continent has some of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet. That’s why I want to share my 35 best shots of this trip with you.

Cypres Tree Tunnel, California
Cypres Tree Tunnel is a famous spot just an hour out of San Fransisco. Its just magical during sunrise on a clear day.
This is about 40 miles north of San Francisco. At the very end of the tree tunnel a wireless telegraph station where operators sent Morse code messages from the ships to shore. With the decline of Morse code, the station was closed down in the late 1990s
Athabasca Falls, Canada
Instagram famous spot at Athabasca Falls. I didn't dare to stand on the rock, but luckily a girl wanted to pose for me.
I LOVE how the tree stands out of the rock over the water. The headwater comes from the Columbia Glacier about 70 kilometers (43 miles) south. Among the most powerful and breathtaking falls in the Rocky Mountains,
Emerald Lake, Canada
When I checked out Emerald Lake I could only wonder that I want to live in that amazing lodge.
Equally spectacular is this lake in the early summer. Due to its high altitude, the lake is frozen from November until June. The vivid turquoise color of the water, caused by powdered limestone, is mostly seen In July as the snow melts from the surrounding mountains. 7d6e2da645...3b3518.jpg 
Peyto Lake, Canada
It was one of the coldest nights of my trip, since I was camping all the time! But when I woke up I got treated to this winter wonderland.
Antalope Canyon, Arizona
The Lion, famous from the National Geographic cover photo. An amazing experience to capture in person.
Courthouse Mountain, Colorado
One of the most difficult hikes to reach this place, but the view and landscape are one of the most unique I have ever witnessed! I still can't believe how yellow those aspen trees are during fall.
I cannot decide what amazes me more: the beautiful landscape or that stunning sky. I don't know why, but it gives me such a good feeling, a "childhood-like" feeling, like when you visited places like this and felt simply astonished by the beauty of the world you were beginning to discover. Boy, I wish I was either a child again or a bird, both free souls that can fly away from the restraints of concrete and iron cities and adulthood... *sigh*
Glacier Point Yosemite, California
I took this shot during a full moon. I was amazed of the scenery of this lookout.
I'm such a chicken.... while I do hike, no way, no how can I stand on a ledge like that! What a great shot!
Horseshoe Bend, Arizona
I had a big storm during my visit to the super famous Horseshoe Bend. I just loved how the mood of the sky was and for a few seconds I got a glimpse of the blue sky.
Flash floods are not uncommon in the South Western part of the U.S. especially during the summer months. I'm glad to see your wonderful shot, especially as you described it.... "the mood of the sky". Beautiful!
Bow River, Canada
Near Lake Louise you can find this awesome train track next to the Bow River. I waited for 45 minutes in a temperature of 5 degrees celsius for the train to come!
Athabasca Glacier, Canada
That time I found an actual ice cave! You won't believe how blue the ice is. Just the feeling of walking inside and touching it just gave me goosebumps! However how beautiful this is, it also made me aware how major the problems are of accelerating climate change. The fast melting of the glacier is easily visible!
The Subway, Utah
I was really exhausted when I reached this place, which is a 5 hour return (accounted that you're fit) climbing rocks and crossing creeks. But this was one of the most amazing places I have seen in my life!
Something large could fit in here! Look around for dragons or something else, this light is unearthly!
Mount Sneffels, Colorado
I camped near the foot of this mountain for three days waiting for this sunrise and made friends with the most awesome local hunters who treated me diner every night!
Lake Louise, Canada
It took me four days to actually see the back end of the Lake! It was super clouded all the time, but waiting around was well worth it. I hiked to the tea house near the glacier and even witnessed an avalanche in the distance!
Last Dollar Road, Colorado
The Famous Last Dollar road towards the super cool town of Telluride.
Fascinating road! Reminds me of the old song... "Country road! Take me home! To the place, I belong!"
The Narrows, Utah
I had to hike waist deep to get into the Narrows, but this is an adventure I will not soon forget.
Excellent shot, Guido! For future reference, you must be extremely careful in the Narrows. A few years ago, my sons had two friends drown trying to cross the Narrows. It was deeper and faster than he thought, and they played with it with their lives.

One of my favourite images of this trip. When I was taking pictures these two german guys decided to go on a morning fishing trip. I quickly snapped this shot of them under an enormous mountain.
Mesa Arch, Utah
The famous Mesa Arch during sunrise. A little truth to this shot, it was crowded! As it is super populair, don't be suprised to see over 20 people for sunrise to get that perfect shot of the arch.
While Mesa Arch is usually crowded with others wanting a glimpse of an amazing sunrise.... it is SO WORTH the effort to be up early to witness the colors.
Bryce Canyon, Utah
I had one of the coldest winds during this morning. I literally had to hold my tripod or else the wind would take it with camera and all!
Guido Diana, I've never been here during the Winter months. I'm such a chicken when it comes to being cold. But your beautiful shot on this one has inspired me to possibly venture up there so I too can see the beauty of the snow in the canyon.
Capitol Peak, Colorado

The famous icon. I just can't describe the feeling driving over this bridge.
i think that feeling is frustration due to all the traffic nonsense in the bay area
Secret Canyon, Arizona
My American friend knew a spot in Arizona even bigger that Horseshoe bend. It was an hour on a 4x4 road through the desert to reach this place, but we were all alone all night! Just us and the stars.
Elk, Canada
One of the coolest experiences of my trip was seeing this elk next to the road.
My favourite of the horned herbivourous beasts: Cervus elaphus, as we, the naturalists call it!
The Boss, Canada
The infamous grizzly bear near Lake Louise called The Boss. A local told me he is the father of 80% of the cubs in that area.
Maroon Bells, Colorado
One of the most fairytale scenes I have witnessed must have been Maroon Bells. During fall this spot is super populair though, there were probably 150 photographers with tripods standing next to me.
Manhattan, New York City
I took this shot on my first day in the USA. It was 9/11 and they lid these two beams as a tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks that occurred in 2001.
This is called "Tribute in Light" - the powerful 88 beams of light shoot four miles across the sky, visible for 60 miles around in remembrance of the September 11 attacks.

Grand Canyon North Rim, Arizona
One thing that was high on my bucket list was to see The Grand Canyon. It was just incredible feeling standing above this enormous canyon and shout as loud as you can to hear your echo bounce back seconds away!
Arizona is my most favorite state. And the Grand Canyon NEVER ceases to amaze me. Isn't she wonderful??!
Bixby Creek Bridge, California
I mostly know this spot from GTA V. Didn't had a helicopter to fly underneath it, so I just took a picture.
This bridge is one of the tallest single span concrete bridges in the world.
Half Dome Yosemite, California
Another bucketlist item I could finally tick off; seeing the last light of sunset at Half Dome.
