" Guide me forth, unto the edge of darkness.....
And we may hide, the light of day....

Find me a place , on that darkened shore...
And we may hide, forevermore....."
- fragment of something I wrote 40 years ago.....

'Twas a tiresome night; my insomnia had flared up. The love of my life was asleep next to me, his hair messy around him. I slowly creeped out of bed, trying my hardest not to wake him up. I tip-toed into the living room, reaching for the T.V. remote. I turned the volume down and put on my favorite show. I wrapped myself in the throw blanket and eventually fell asleep. When I awoke, I could hear the sound of my boyfriend cooking breakfast.

Oh! I used to journal when I was depressed and I have a list of quotes from that time that I keep on my phone to encourage myself.
Maybe you find some of them relatable.🤣

"Scud, I am not ready to be an adult. I can barely handle the emotional strain of finding socks every morning."

"There are about thirteen shades of lonely and I've got all of them."

"Sometimes our dreams are awesome but they're just pointed in the wrong direction."

"Hello depression. I was expecting you, wasn't I?"

"The ultimate trio: Me, my journal, and my fear locked in a dark room."

"Self-hate is the loneliest of lonely places."

"The worst part of anxiety is when you stop being afraid of the trigger and start being afraid of yourself. Who you will hurt when it goes off."

"Stop feeling guilty that you can't give God your perfect self. Give Him what you have. Even if it's broken."
