Please, do not say “being emo is so misunderstood” “emo is not a phase” or anything like that. It really gets on my nerves

I had to write an English paper. I decided to make it on lgbtq rights, and everyone asked me why. Some people thought I was being “so mature,” handling such an “adult topic.” This made my blood boil, it’s not an adult topic, it’s normal.
The real reason I did it is because I don’t want to die. If you read my current draft, you’ll see that I mention the queer panic law a lot, because it states that any queer person can be killed as an act of self defense if they cause a severe emotional threat, and it’s applicable in 39 US states. Luckily, I live in Connecticut, where you cannot use this as an excuse, but if you live somewhere where this does apply and you are queer, stay safe.

My mom doesnt do anything about the sexual harassment i get from her bf bc " he makes her happy" So its ok for him to make sexual jokes about a 16-year olds breasts and butt when she tells him not to? Even his own kid ( my wonderful sibling) agree's he's a pedo...
