Vacation, I haven't been on vacation since 2019 and I'm in need of a good break from work and people. Travelling solo and can't wait.

My mom is finally letting me get a gender neutral hair cut this month! I’ve been wanting it for years before I came out as nonbinary. She has always come up with some excuse to go against it, but I think me writing an essay about it is what did it

Why nowadays young people claim to be gender neutral sooo much??? I think a lot of people is just following the trend...

It's not a claim- more younger people are being raised to be more accepting and they're either experimenting or just being raised in a world that is more encouraging towards them figuring out who they are. It's not a trend- this is the future.

I got a very shaggy wolf cut and I LOVE it. I feel like a whole new me. My hair could have been longer (as only half an inch waa split) but they took off about 6" on the long section bringing it to like the base of my ahoulders and then juat chopped the sides to like my jaw line... it's so... joan jett and with my curls it's just... the change i needed. I had been rocking my poofy layers since since high school so... having a sleek, choppy kinda low-key rock look is just great-- makes me feel older but like also less mature if that makes sense which makes me feel just more excited for the future. My husband is so happy that I am happy and he has a whole GQ look going now... I think it kinda just helps me iron out my adult identity and how I want to be perceived-- also having so much less hair is so much lighter.

My band is having a two-day trip at the end of the school year and 1) I'm super excited, its going to be great, but also, 2) I'm trans and I was super worried that the band director was going to try to put me in a room with girls but I mentioned it to him and he seemed very confused as to why he wouldn't put me in the right room. He definitely does know I'm trans and it's just really great to not have to fight for this. I'm super excited (which is a bit less than ideal cause the trip is like 4 months out but hey)

That sounds awesome! Your band director sounds like a good person to take your preferences into consideration instead of assigning rooms based on what's in the computers!

Yeah he's a great guy. Honestly my favourite teacher. I was less worried that he would be against it and more worried that the school would have rules around this type of thing

I have a friend who I have a crush on and they have a crush back on me. We’re not dating or anything but we are really close. It’s the holidays right now, and their in another country but I can’t wait to see them next week. I don’t know why I miss them so much, and there’s a big time difference between the countries we’re in, but we’re still texting when we can and I’m just really excited to finally see them again. Not as exciting as other items on the list I guess, but I guess that’s what I’m looking forward to! Thanks for reading :)

Update for y'all: I FINALLY had the courage to call him, we talked for fifty two minutes, and I said it was my Valentine's Day gift to him that he gets to talk on the phone with me. I was so nervous about calling him, but I managed to pull myself together and call him.

I have three interviews this week. I need a job with a steady schedule. My current one isn't providing that. I currently work a unique shift because we have been shorthanded...for months.

Excited may be the wrong word so please don't judge me. I can't wait until social services, mental health and local authority funding get their act together to ensure mum can stay in the care home of my choice and I can finally relax knowing my lovely mum, if not well, is at least safe since she was first diagnosed with alzheimers in 2019. It's still incredibly heart breaking but her decline was inevitable and the last few months of emailing, phoning, form filling, badgering, arguing, pleading, complaining in order to get the assistance I needed for mum to get the care she deserves has almost broken me. I can, at last, see the end of this particular tunnel.
