Well, back when it was a decent site, Bored Panda.... a couple of years ago, when this was a positive community based site full of feel good stories, art, photography, memes and a thriving, supportive community it really helped me get through some really hard times... i even met my girlfriend on here.... shame its just negative stories, celebrity click bait and tabloid shite on here now... used to be really fun...
Mine? That would be Smash Karts because I have now found my dream job of being a professional Smash Karts player.
Probably joining one of my all-time fave game/s on Discord, and I've made a few fantastic friends on the server, so that's amazing!
Anylist especially before Amazon nerfed it on Alexa. Could tell Alexa to add any item to any shopping list and amazing for downloading recipes. It's still pretty amazing, but used to be better.
Not just an app, a whole smartphone. I was a die-hard fan of my old Nokia, but if I'd only realized that I would always have something... no, not just something, *everything*... to read in my pocket, I'd have had one years earlier.
TVTropes. Oh my, such a lot of time wasted on dozens upon dozens of tabs opened and then digested... only to repeat in a few months because I forgot that I'd already read that, and that, and that...
It is, however, rather useful for pointing out if a series has been cancelled. When a series of "some interest but not a drop everything and watch" category comes on to Netflix, I do *not* watch it. I give it a couple of weeks, then I look at TVTropes to see if it's been cancelled. If it has, then I probably won't bother to watch...
...because I've watched far too many things that got pulled to want to waste my brain in a story and with characters that will end upon a cliffhanger never to be resolved. Hmm... Emergence, I'm Not Okay With This, Sense8, Teenage Bounty Hunters, The OA, Dead Boy Detectives, Warrior Nun, Lockwood & Co, shall I go on?
Anyway. TVTropes. Changed my life, maybe not for the better. Fittingly, there's a trope for that: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/JustForFun/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife
