Wow, what an amazing job you did. I am very curious how many hours of work it took to create this blanket. Prince Phillip (later husband of former queen Elisabeth) was from the house of Battenberg. Before he married Elisabeth they changed his last name into Mountbatten.

It was a project that I started in September and casually worked in in between other projects. Battenberg is also an English cake that is made up of squares of pink and yellow sponge and wrapped in marzipan. The first cake was baked in 1884 to celebrate Prince Louis of Battenberg marrying Princess Victoria, Queen Victoriaâs granddaughter and Prince Philipâs grandmother.â

Made this guy without a pattern and I still can't believe how well he turned out!!! Took home 1st place at the county and state fair for the Toy section for crochet back in 2018. Originally he was gonna be a prop for my friend's Lulu cosplay but since she never did it, I just held onto it. I haven't been able to crochet in a few years thanks to tendonitis from a work related injury, so he will be my best work from here on out.

It was actually extremely fun for me. I love doing tedious activities like crochet and cross stitch. I've also made my mom a blanket although that one took at least fifty hours less. And am still work on my sister's blanket. It is almost done, but I need to get more yarn for it. Ran out of a few colors. Nearly ran out of one of the colors for my brother's and found out it was discontinued. Fortunately the craft store I went two had enough still in stock. Wouldn't be able to make the blanket again with the exact same colors tho.

For the pokemon fans out there, I've crocheted an eevee with yarn mane (brushed out the yarn to make it soft and fluffy) for my daughter, and a life sized (to a toddler) lapras for my nephew to ride on. Both loved them. For myself, I crocheted a Link from Ocarina of Time. That last one took a fair bit of time especially it being my second crochet project I attempted so I was still learning.
