Thanks Mat. People are paying for these programs that just assemble stolen art...paying art thieves, really. The fact that these programmers never just stuck with public, royalty-free artwork to draw from and instead chose theft is appalling.

Why can't you elitist bullies just leave people alone? AI isn't theft. It's not different than if a human artist copies a style, learns from or is inspired by another person's art, which happens constantly in all kinds of art and isn't criticized. Saying it's theft when AI does it but not when humans do it isn't logical. AI makes art available to everyone. It's a revolution that takes control from a select few and give it to the masses. It's freedom and it's a huge step in the right direction. The only reason why some are rejecting it is because it's threatening, and they are losing money and control. A real art lover would rejoice!

It is theft. The artists did not consent to their art being used to train the ai. How do you think the AI generates these images? It draws from a pool of images it's seen already and mashes them up. There is zero creativity involved. Ai cannot be "inspired" or "influenced" in the way a human can, these are emotional concepts that are impossible to fake on an ai right now The artists get no return or even credit on works that are derived from their hard work. Their work was stolen. End of discussion.

I been waiting to show off this AI stuff, AI generated things are so cool. To me, it's images that you can generate with just a few words and in less than 5 minutes. *edit: i realize that AI art isn't real art, and it's basically just stolen mish-mashed art, and i want to let you know that i take absolutely no credit for any of the images I've uploaded. Apologies to the artists of the original images that got mish-mashed into these generated ones, and apologies to anyone offended by AI generated "art"*

Respectfully, you are only able to do this because of the thousands of artists and their millions of hours of work that have gone into the art that was stolen in order to train this AI. I understand you think it's cool but please, out of respect for artists, please don't share it in places like this, and definitely don't share it as your own creation.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s criminal to call it art! I think its only use to to inspire you to create something of your own, or make something for your own home. It shouldn’t ever be turned into something commercial as essentially it’s stealing.
