Famous Tattoo Artist Offers To Ink People For FREE If They Agree To Put Their Arms In A Hole For A Surprise
It might be quite shocking, discovering how much your dream tattoo might cost and the saying “what you pay for is what you get” strongly comes in play here. However, Scott Campbell, a well-known tattoo artist based in the Williamsburg part of Brooklyn, New York, has created the ultimate test of trust in his work: he offers free tattoos to people as long as he gets to choose the design and not show it to them until it’s done. The name of his project, playing on everyone’s favorite truck-stop delight, is “Whole Glory.”
Not so long ago tattoos were meant for sailors, freak-show entertainers, and general low-lives, but as you can see from the works of Scott Campbell, the fine lines and intricate details might even suit the Queen herself (though she might not need to worry about finding a way to getting a tattoo for free).
The trust these people place in him when they stick their hands through the wall for a free tattoo isn’t unfounded – Campbell has tattooed celebs like Marc Jacobs, Orlando Bloom, and Penelope Cruz. Nonetheless, he does thank each person for their trust in him and his art. What do you think of the work he did?

Share on FacebookTattoos are way to personal and permanent to be done randomly.......But props to the this tattoo artist for finding a clever way to get practice and the chance to experiment freely.
I think the trust required to do this make is personal in and of itself. The tattoo has a story because of it's creation, rather than getting a tattoo to honor a past story.
Load More Replies...I don't know where your tattoo is now but I'm pretty sure I don't wanna see it. :[]
Load More Replies...How could any reasonable petson entrust something that is fir life to a stranger? Even if I would like every singke tattoo this guy has made before, I would think this is a no-go.
What just comes to my mind...did we not have the very same post on Bored Panda a few months ago?
Tattoos are supposed to be personal to the person wearing them, not the artist. I wouldn't even wear pants that were not picked by me, let alone a tattoo.
And then you end up with something on your arm that you don't like or even hate... To me these tattoos don't even look that good (or they're just weird) an eye with a rose coming out or the half skull/pattern... (If you like stuff like that, good but I wouldn't be happy with something like that on my arm :P ) It might be a free tattoo but you might not like the design and imo a tattoo should be something personal.
Wow, those look amazing! I don't have tattoos and probably will never get one, but I love the artistry behind it.
This is an old story y/n? I definitely remember some of these from a year or so ago.
Its too bad I am in Montana cuz I LOVE Mr Campbell's art work!!!! He would be the ONLY artist I would ever allow or want to tattoo me. What a gracious gift he has given to those folks. I hope they deeply appreciate what he has given them.
I would definitely do this! I just had MY first stroke at 54.I'm very lucky and blessed @ what better way to express this !!then with a surprise Tattoo♡♡♡
I would love to get some tattoo work from a good artist I recently lost my dad and both my grandparents in January 2021 from covid 19 I would even pay for the work I just want someone who can do portraits of people I won't trust just any local guy to do something that means so much to me
I have wanted so so badly to combine the tats I have into a sleeve or half sleeve tattoo. I just don't have the $$. And I'm really looking for a way or reason to keep living. I've read 101 ways to commit suicide and I know I have an issue when I actually think drowning myself is a good idea. I mean WTF
Nice tattooes, but if i choose tattoo, must know about it and prepare the pictures and find a good place. But if me someone offer do this, not in my arm, maybe my back. I want to have a hand without a tattoo. I have severals tattoo, but not on hand, only on shoulders, back, legs.
I see some comments about arm tats hurting your job prospects and I don't really see how that's a thing, at least for guys. The primary concern seem to be professional environments, but in every professional environment I've ever worked in I wear long sleeve button downs anyway. And of course a suit for the interview.
Personally, I don't like them... I would be heartbroken if I ended up with any of them.... definitely the one with the rose stabbing the eye! 😱 Il pay for mine thank you.
Me as a man if I did that and came out with a rose I'm slapping that tattoo guy
He does beautiful work I wouldn't mind. I like different how can I try
Id do it that would be bad a*s, you only live once!! Yes their permanent but they come with a good story! Who would ever believe you just put ur arm in a while and came out with a tattoo?? #badass
Is he still giving out tattoos if so I want to know and where's the location ? Please thank you?
I love the snake tattoo he did, but I'm really fussy and not sure I'd want to go into that blindly. I only have the one tattoo and it took me nearly a year to settle on what I wanted, although I want more now but having the same problem again!
I think that's awesome i'd get it done, I'd let them do what they wanted... Besides the work is Brilliant
I am totaly pass out scared of needles but if i was not i would travel just to do this i love the thought of not knowing what that person is going to feel from me at the time and transplant on to my body.
I like the idea of Tattoos but would never think about getting, imaging seeing an image for the rest of your life and also see it morph into something different as your skin sags, and to get rid of it you have to basically burn your skin, uuh no thanks, but I will continue admiring from a distance.
His work is great but I could never in a million years let someone pick for me. It took me 5+ years to make a final decision on mine
Contact me please. I want to do this. Life's so short.carolacubanese@gmail.com
Dude, your work is Killer! Free Tattoos are ALWAYS the best. You have some real talent man and I'd love to get some work done from you. Hell, you can even tatt your shop name too.
At first, I thought it was, like. "Put your arm in the hole in the wall, & I'll give you a free tattoo." Like, the hole would be filled with something very nasty, or whatever, ha.
If after some time this guy says "excuse me for a moment" - better don't let him go. He won't be back and you're gonna wear long sleeves from now on. ; P
I like some of these, but I'm not gonna lie...I'd be disappointed if I got the eyeball. I don't think I'd do this unless he was tattooing the bottom of my foot lol.
The eyeball isn't my favorite either, I'd like the skull
Load More Replies...love the idea but i would,nt do it!! tattoos are a personal thing that have to mean something to the person...if i take my arm out and see a skull, bones ,devil etc...not me not what i would go for..no way!
My fave is the hand with the Butterfly. Wouldn't do it either randomly like most of you said but got to give it to him, he really did some awesome designs especially the tribal ones and the half tribal half something else. :)
it took me 14 years to decide on my first tattoo, I don't think this is for me.
If you put your arm in and feel something soft ....just don't tug at it....
