Sometimes we get so used to everyday life, it becomes hard to imagine that things can be different. But they can. Whether it's out car getting scratched in the parking lot or our poop splashing in a public toilet so loud, everyone knows what we're doing, if there's a problem, there's a solution. This Park Has A Swing For Wheelchair Users

These Lines Go Up The Wall So You Can Park Perfectly In-Between The Lines
Everyone wants to drive until it's time to park in a cramped corner. This particular one was found in Seattle, under the Amazon Go store. And even though the driver on the left didn't back backwards, it actually has a lot of benefits. Most importantly, reversing into a parking space gives you greater control and makes it easier to manoeuvre out the space. Avoiding reverse parking usually leads into much more difficult situations, trying to wiggle your car out of a tight space when you parked front-first.

My Moms 3D Printed Cast. She Can Take A Shower With It!
For everyone wondering, it's held together with zip ties. From scan to cast, it took the woman about 2 weeks to get it. While the company printed it in just a few days, the longest part of the process was drafting the print and shipping it from Colorado to Florida.

For the ones lucky enough to never need a cast, Dorothy is referring to the fact ordinary cast bandages don't help much when after a while you need to scratch by any means the covered area.

Not feeling like your limb is Cooking was my first thought too!! I only wore the back side of my foot and calf in plaster and then ACE bandages to wrap around to hold it on. Just that made me so hot!! Didn’t help that I wore that for 10 days I think and then an ortho boot (up to the knee) for the next 12 weeks, with the surgery that started it happening in May or June.

It's a lot better for her skin, too, I bet. I had a cast on my wrist for 3 months, and the skin came off in HUGE sheets when it finally came off and my arm smelled like the bottom of a dumpster! It was truly disgusting. This is a BRILLIANT idea!

Neat idea, held together with zip ties, bolted in the middle so you could use just the top or the bottom. But yeah, bad shoes made those toes.

You are right! I worked in the plaster room at a&e and a plaster cast called a back slab was used at time of injury (just hard on one side for support and wrapped in bandages) A day or two later after swelling goes down, a full cast of a modern lightweight mouldable bandage like material was applied over stockinette and cotton wadding. This sets dry to form support! Quite often the patients limb would reduce in size more and the cast would be relaced, sometimes more than once as muscle mass can be loose through lack of use! This 3D printed cast would require another special scan and 're making! Or I suppose the limb could be wrapped in wedding to make it fit tighter, but then you couldn't shower or bath! Not that fab for long term use really!

OMG!!! I sure could have used this many times in the past 5 years. Have osteoporosis thanks to really crappy insurance/medical care from Welmed, who refused to diagnose it or give me appropriate medicines.

Let's talk about the CAST, ok people?? I think it's a fantastic idea, and I wish they had something like this 23 years ago when I broke my knee, instead of going around in a 75 lb. green fibreglass cast, no showers, just sponge baths. Well done, whoever thought of this!

My daughter is in a leg brace, this would make her life so much easier as she hasn't had a shower for a week as she can't stand up without it and sitting on a stool isn't an option

Looks lightweight, you'd be able to wash instead of finally having the cast removed and finding all this grey, dull skin - believe me this is much better.

This Toilet Flushes By Using Your Foot
This mechanism is located in a toilet in Mexico and you don't have to be a germaphobe to appreciate it. Unsanitary public toilets can lead to gut infections, lung and skin infections as well as STDs. If a stool doesn't look clean but you really need to use it, consider using tissue paper to open its door, using the toilet seat cover, and if there isn’t one, cleaning the toilet seat with a tissue paper before using it or even hovering closely above the toilet.

This is actually terrific bc ATL airport is one of the busiest airports in the U.S. It's easier to just see a light than to get halfway down and realize the door is shut only to walk back and the next person in line is taking a just open stall that u missed bc u were checking another one. This helps save time too when you're rushing to get to a flight and have to go! Literally "go". ;)

The cast one was ingenious, I'm wearing a cast right now for my ankle surgery recovery. Everything becomes 100x harder when you can't walk and it's such a pain to shower. (Tip: Buy a knee scooter, not crutches. Your armpits will thank you.)

I remember being thankful I had a removable shower head so I could tie by leg up in a garbage bag and hang it out the side of the tub while I lay on my back. Sucked so much!

I always thought designers should really listen to what people who actually use stuff have to say. Looking pretty doesn't mean something is designed well.it is also very refreshing to see how those who have been excluded from the simple pleasures that "normal" folk enjoy are now a part of design decisions. Work on the black hole interior of a woman's purse next. I have found stuff I hadn't seen since the third grade in some of my black interior bags. Screwdriver, superglue, Swiss Army knives, jellybeans with hair. It's an adventure. Nothing living so far.

Yup. LED lights on Christmas sweaters are a silly wasteful use of electronics; sticking one inside a purse would be clever. So would a gray or tan lining.

I've seen the toilet light idea for car parking spaces in a multi storey carpark and wished that was done in more places, so annoying when you drive round a carpark for ages looking for a good space only to find a smart car or mini where you thought you could see a space
