Sometimes we get so used to everyday life, it becomes hard to imagine that things can be different. But they can. Whether it's out car getting scratched in the parking lot or our poop splashing in a public toilet so loud, everyone knows what we're doing, if there's a problem, there's a solution. Bored Panda has collected a list of genius ideas that have the potential to make some our day-to-day struggles go away, and while you in particular might not benefit from all of them, you'll still probably appreciate the effort that went into making them a reality.

The number is rather clever as well. The way it's written, it's a visual mnemonic device, meaning it helps the human memory to remember it. 888-3737-888 - with the differing numbers in red. Useful for someone who's in a hurry and can't write it down.

It is like seeing a doctor, the police or the fire department. I would prefer to never have to call them, but if something went wrong, I am always happy to see them.

Things like this wouldn't need to exist if we didn't have so many males around. You know it's true. We should consider aborting male babies to decrease the number of men in the world.

While it's a great idea, it only works if the victim uses the bathroom. I wish there was a way for victims to get help without the predator knowing what is up.

I wish this had been an option for me. Luckily 8 years free now, but endured 6 years of extra hell before i plucked up the courage. Also because my abuser would never let me be alone other than bathroom visits. But, i am 8 years free with pretty much no help xx

I use the Multicare health group in Washington State, recently when checking in I have had receptionist ask me if I need to discuss something with the Dr in private, when I asked why they asked, it is for cases like like these to temporarily separate them from their abusers.

I think each bar that does this should choose their own name.. otherwise with the info floating around on fb everyone will know about it.. so the one your on a date with hears you ask for “Angela” and then knows what’s up... and then the other problem.. what if an Angela really does end up working someplace?

My Local Vet Has A Sign And Candle For When Someone's Pet Is Dying

My Local Vet Has A Sign And Candle For When Someone's Pet Is Dying

As heartbreaking as it is to say goodbye to your pet, it's what most of them need during their final moments. "I beg you DO NOT LEAVE THEM,” a message shared by Hillcrest Veterinary Clinic in South Africa read. "Do not make them transition from life to death in a room full of strangers in a place they don’t like. The thing you people need to know that most of you don’t is that they search for you when you leave them behind. They search every face in the room for their loved person. They don’t understand why you left them when they are sick, scared, old, or dying from cancer and they need your comfort.”

I had a vet once (no more because of this) that made me wait in the very public waiting room while they de-wormed a walk-in. I had an appointment. I was barely holding it together and they took a walk-in and de-wormed it. Then, when I came out after the walk-in was still there. I heard them ask what was going on and the receptionist told them 'She just put her pet down. Though, it was just a cat so I don't know what the hysterics are about'. All three stared at me while I carried my now empty carrier out to my car. I'll never go back to that vet.

Once had to have a dog, my darling, put to sleep. Cancer, pain. I left, crying quietly but obviously upset with my dear dkg's collar and lead in my hand. I wanted to keep these mementos. I had to leave via the same waiting room I entered. Same people with their pets saw me go in and then come back, petless. Awful for me, and them. Years later, I had to do the same again. Went in through the waiting room. My lovely love.y dog was put to sleep, cancer again. I did not cry until she was dead, then I cried. I left via a back door in the vet's , with her collar, and did not upset anyone in the waiting room. They did not see my heartbreak either. My upset was private, and my grief did not upset all the pet lovers there. All it needed was another door. Entrance and exit.

When we had to let go the mom of our other two cats I was devistated. I don’t remember crying that hard over a human! Luckily there weren’t any other people because we scheduled it and being a smaller off shot of the main office it’s not busy. We’ve been going there for years so everyone knows us. The lovely lady that works the desk went into the back and brought out the cutest 3 legged kitten to cheer me up so I could compose myself. That little girl was still there for rehab until they could find a forever home. That cutie jumping and running and being so happy even after having a leg amputated (due to a neglectful person). It’s hard to cry when you see that kind of joy! Find a good vet and stick with them!

Our vet has a special "goodbye" room for putting pets to sleep. There are candles, nice smells, low lighting, and of course kleenex. I have been there too often lately, but I'm grateful for it.

This is so sweet. It saddens me to see people picking up their ashes of a beloved pet. I love my vet because he takes his lunch time to come to the house to euthanize pets in their own home and bed. We have used this service twice and has made my grieving process easier.

My vet has this too. They also have a private exit for the grieving room where you can stay with your pet till they pass and then you can leave by private exit so you don't run into people or other animals.

This Park Has A Swing For Wheelchair Users

This Park Has A Swing For Wheelchair Users

The freefall that these swings provide is about 4.3 feet (1.3m) and they can safely take on a load of up to 4,400 pounds (2,000 kg). Moreover, the rope pull included within the design allows those with upper body mobility to swing themselves independently.

The yellow playground had a swing just like this, because we were a special ed school, and for some reason a lot oof kids kept breaking their legs.

These Lines Go Up The Wall So You Can Park Perfectly In-Between The Lines

These Lines Go Up The Wall So You Can Park Perfectly In-Between The Lines

Everyone wants to drive until it's time to park in a cramped corner. This particular one was found in Seattle, under the Amazon Go store. And even though the driver on the left didn't back backwards, it actually has a lot of benefits. Most importantly, reversing into a parking space gives you greater control and makes it easier to manoeuvre out the space. Avoiding reverse parking usually leads into much more difficult situations, trying to wiggle your car out of a tight space when you parked front-first.

There is a crossing I used to take a while back, where there was not enough time allowed for anyone to cross. I could run, but others had to make it half-way across, then wait on the narrow median for the light to change again. So dangerous. I told off a guy one time for honking repeatedly at an elderly, disabled man who was trying to cross. Idiot!

Wish we had something similar in the UK. I've seen the elderly really struggle to get across in the time allotted. Not too bad on a single lane road as drivers just stop and give them more time, but when there are multiple lanes and the person on the crossing isn't necessarily visible as you approach it is terrifying.

For everyone wondering, it's held together with zip ties. From scan to cast, it took the woman about 2 weeks to get it. While the company printed it in just a few days, the longest part of the process was drafting the print and shipping it from Colorado to Florida.

For the ones lucky enough to never need a cast, Dorothy is referring to the fact ordinary cast bandages don't help much when after a while you need to scratch by any means the covered area.

Not feeling like your limb is Cooking was my first thought too!! I only wore the back side of my foot and calf in plaster and then ACE bandages to wrap around to hold it on. Just that made me so hot!! Didn’t help that I wore that for 10 days I think and then an ortho boot (up to the knee) for the next 12 weeks, with the surgery that started it happening in May or June.

This Toilet Flushes By Using Your Foot

This Toilet Flushes By Using Your Foot

This mechanism is located in a toilet in Mexico and you don't have to be a germaphobe to appreciate it. Unsanitary public toilets can lead to gut infections, lung and skin infections as well as STDs. If a stool doesn't look clean but you really need to use it, consider using tissue paper to open its door, using the toilet seat cover, and if there isn’t one, cleaning the toilet seat with a tissue paper before using it or even hovering closely above the toilet.

And the door k**b is probably more full of germs than the button, because the toilet is usually cleaned quite often, but very few people bother to clean and disinfect the door k**b, or the light switches.

Good idea, but it is important that the lid be closed first. The mist from a toilet flush can spread out several feet. This is especially important if your toothbrush is nearby.

People are funny! Although I understand the need to be clean, I can't understand this kind of obsession. They don't want to press the button to flush the toilet... yeah, Ok. There are things which are far dirtier!!! They don't want to touch the button, but they touch the door k**b, the tap, the thingy that holds the toilet paper... and they probably flush without closing the lid, which lets the tiny drops of water, pee and everything else jump in all directions! 😂😂😂 Stop being irrational; germs are everywhere! Wash your hands frequently and stop worrying so much!

This is the precursor to sensor flushing toilets and urinals which most major cities have now a days. Hands free for almost entire visit. Water facets, soap dispenser, hand dryer and toilets. Only thing you've got to touch is yourself and the door handle which by the way, is the most contaminated surface in the entire bathroom.

My Grocery Store Started Selling Overripe, Discount Bananas With A Recipe For Banana Bread On The Bag

My Grocery Store Started Selling Overripe, Discount Bananas With A Recipe For Banana Bread On The Bag

This solution comes at a time when it's needed the most. Americans waste 150,000 tons of food each day – equal to a pound per person. Also, fruit and vegetables were the most likely to be thrown out, followed by dairy and then meat.
By the way, interestingly enough, banana bread is actually a somewhat young dish. It first became a standard feature of American cookbooks with the popularization of baking soda and baking powder in the 1930s.

Methylisothiazolinone is a preservative, that's correct - but it's hyperallergic as well, making my hands explode in itchy, liquid-filled bubbles. According to the German federal statistical office, about 2% of the inhabitants of this country show an (at least mild) allergic reaction. Still, it's cheap, so it's commonly used in soap, detergents, all kinds of hygienic and beauty products without any information... Knowing it's a preservative wouldn't help much at all.

Rubik's Cubes for blind people have been available for some time now. For example, the Braillecube is an attempt to adjust this timeless toy to the needs of people with impaired vision - the design makes them "feel" the colors. The first letters of the color are written on the cube in braille in the order of the colors on the original cube.

Also, try to stay no higher than the 7th floor so fire extension ladders can reach your room. And a bunch of other safety info that was fascinating and useful and has probably saved a bunch of lives -- this man gave that briefing twice a year at a large military base, and so I know thousands of government workers heard it over the years.

Washing Your Hands To Flush The Toilette

Washing Your Hands To Flush The Toilette

Urinal-sink combos like this save water by reusing the hand-washing water to rinse out the urinal. Presumably, it could also allow bathrooms to be more compact and less expensive to install, as it replaces two appliances with one, thus requiring less plumbing works.

Actually, the bad people can urinate on any surface of any public bathroom. But your suspicion that this is more likely here, demonstrates why this is actually a terrible solution. The design integrates cleaning and urinating, strongly suggesting to people (unconsciously) that they are bathing in pee pee. I'll bet this bathroom succeeds in convincing people not to wash their hands at all (making for a dirty bathroom door handle).

Sorrry, but it is my belief that too many men believe that touching their penises while urinating is not worth a hand wash. I say Bravo! Except......how many don’t care bout flushing after either????

The concept is good, but only if this is some super high end restaurant or something. Any guy will tell you that at lesser places the floor would be covered in p**s from the splash off the porcelain and no one would would get close enough to the sink to wash there hands. But I like the idea. Maybe this isn't a problem in other countries but go into a bathroom at say any bar in your local downtown around 1am. You wouldn't get close to that thing.

Supermarket Trolleys In Sweden Have A Map Of The Supermarket

Supermarket Trolleys In Sweden Have A Map Of The Supermarket

It's about time we got something like this. Rick Paulas of the Pacific Standard has compared the current design of many grocery stores to casinos. "There are lights and sounds that re-focus attention every micro-second, carpet on the ground to offer cushion for our feet, an open-flow space from the slot machines to the poker tables to the roulette. But what's more important is what's not there: clocks on the wall, bathrooms, escape routes. The reason is obvious — can't spend money if you're not present—and they point toward why supermarkets attempted to get their customers lost."

This is actually terrific bc ATL airport is one of the busiest airports in the U.S. It's easier to just see a light than to get halfway down and realize the door is shut only to walk back and the next person in line is taking a just open stall that u missed bc u were checking another one. This helps save time too when you're rushing to get to a flight and have to go! Literally "go". ;)

With an unpredictable and rapidly changing economy ahead, kids need to be flexible, creative problem-solvers. They can’t solve their problems if adults are always right there, solving them first!"

This is awesome. When I was a kid (in NYC no less!) mom would say 'go to the park!'. That was Central Park. We would go with the other kids in our building and catch tadpoles and crawdaddys and bring them home. She taught us to ride the subway when we were about 8, 9, and 10 (me the youngest, and my two older brothers). That independence has served me well.

It's kind of sad that children should carry this around to warn others that they are just "free range" children that actually are playing outside with their parent's consent. Not that that won't stop people to call the police and CPS on them. Because letting your child play outside is child abuse and not vaccinating them is "a right to choose not to vaccinate." /S

People in my town wouldn’t care if they saw a kid walking by themselves... I would do it but I don’t go anywhere by myself because apparently it’s fun to drive slowly along whistling and yelling “hey girl” at a 15 year old?

hopefully the day will come when this isn't an issue. won't be for a long time tho since men in general get offended when anyone finds them offensive. then they cry the why they think only little girls do. we need to bring our boys up better. I am hopeful for the next generation.

I agree. My mother was fine with my being "free range", BUT I had to be within "yelling distance"....I should be close enough to home that if she walks out and yells for me to come in, I can hear her. The only time there was trouble was when I strayed outside the "yelling zone"...lol

This Pizza Box Can Be Torn In Half And Folded To Create A Smaller Box For Leftovers

To make your leftover pizza taste better, experts suggest reheating it face down in a pan and adding water to the bottom of the skillet. If you have to use a microwave, however, add a glass of water in there to avoid soggy crust.

Most, if not all, parking situations in other countries are better than here in the States. From parking assisted paint/lines, to red and green lights that indicate open stalls, they all seem to have it figured out. But not here in America, because FREEDOM.

The Inside Of The Pizza Box Was A Tuxedo

The organization behind the idea, Pizza Bib, offer custom designed boxes both outside and inside. "While sitting on the couch after a few too many beers our founder Jack decided to order his favorite pizza. Wearing his brand new t-shirt, he decided to use the ordinary pizza box as a bib, keeping his brand new t-shirt clean he thought about how you could add fun designs to keep himself clean and have a whole lot of fun."

Taught us how to sew a button and cook. It was fun, ended up taking a full year of Home Economics Freshmen year because of the experience!
