Sick and tired of being considered a millennial, proud zoomer @mayalepa made a TikTok, saying that she doesn’t want to be associated with people who still think that Harry Potter movies are a personality trait. A second later, Gen Z are taking stabs at their predecessors in the comments under the video.
82K likes later, Twitter user @local__celeb reshares some of the best roasts, and her tweet instantly goes viral. At that point, millennials noticed that their title of the most edgy generation was under attack, so they began to return fire.
Apparently, zoomers aren’t crazy about millennials

When you look at the two groups closely, they’re quite different. Generation Z, or zoomers, consist of those born in 1995 or later. They are said to live in a world of continuous updating, are tech-savvy and process information way faster than other generations, thus their attention spans are shorter than millennials’.
Zoomers often can be less focused than their millennial counterparts. They will create a document on their school computer, do research on their phone while taking notes on a notepad, then finish everything by watching Netflix while sitting next to a friend. You get it; they’re multitaskers. They can quickly switch between work and play, with multiple distractions going on in the background.
And after one of them uploaded a TikTok expressing this opinion

Millennials and zoomers look differently at money, too. The former cares about it more than the latter, arguably because they came of age during the recession. One survey said that 67% of millennials would go to the website to get a coupon before buying a certain product, whereas only 46% of Gen Z polled said they would do the same. That would explain why more millennials click on ads than zoomers.
And since 40% of Gen Z identify themselves as digital device addicts, it’s no wonder they chose TikTok to start their war against millennials.
Gen Z immediately started roasting millennials in the comments
And more Tik Toks roasting millenials started appearing
@wholesamStop bullying millennials! They’re pretty cool♬ original sound – undergroundish

Why have there been so many generational conflicts on the Internet lately? Is that an American thing to find conflict everywhere? (I'm seriously asking)
I could never relate to any of these generational posts. There are no sharp lines, and neither people nor times can be generalized.
What can be generalized, though, is that there are obly two kinds of people in the world. Those who use TikTok and those who keep on wondering what the additional value of that platform might be. I count myself to the latter.
Load More Replies...honestly I am in gen Z but I still think hating people just be cuz their in a diff gen is just bad
As 31 year old person, I am absolutely offended by this post. DONT YOU DARE TALK ABOUT MY COFFEE BREAK! Thats the highlight of my day :(
If boomers could have their cigarette breaks back in the 80s, what is these problem with coffee breaks? I'm sure Gen Zers will want their vape breaks when they get jobs.
Load More Replies...Millennials also don't want to be associated w/ 'Gen Z' people who keep eating Tide pods, licking toilet seats and insisting they can invent a new kind of gender in every Tik Tok video.
Generation distinctions are a marketing tool but I would rather be a ravenclaw than part of the age group that went to spring break during the worst part of the covid outbreak lmao
Is this an American thing? I come from Europe and I have never come across this hatred between generations. I'm a millenial and I just happily live my life coexisting with all the other younger/older people around me. Do we sometimes have different ideas? Sure. Do we hate each other for it? Never! So sad to see this negativity towards people just because they were born in a different decade.
It seems to be something created to complain about nothing. Or another opportunity for someone to say "look at me look at me!"
Load More Replies...My husband says he isn't a millennials because "he doesn't identify as a millennial", and that is about the millennial thing I have every heard! I do think it's funny when boomers talk about millennials as though we are teenagers- ma'am we're 30-40, snow under in mortgages, and a fun night out involves the kids in bed somewhere is the region of their actual bedtime. Stand down!
Being born in October 1980 I have one toe dipped in GenX and I use it to cling to dear life. I will not fall into the unbearable chasm that is millennial. I refuse. Where's my flannel shirt and my STP album i need to veg out?!?
Load More Replies...I am a gen X and I am totally lost in all on this....what is going on? I am seriously asking...
They always skip over us the grunge/slacker generation. It's ok. What's funny is when I'm called a boomer. Because then I get to say look dumbass, do you know where boomer comes from? (I'm 41) Look it up. Then I go back to my pearl jam.

Being intolerant is the easiest thing you'll ever do. It takes no effort. What is a little more difficult is trying to understand others and seeing them as people instead of stereotypes. Worth the effort though.
Not liking the generation above has always happened, it's just polarised on social media as people all jump on what they think is fashionable to say or think. In reality these labels are more divisive, showing that society is becoming less tolerant of those who are different from ourselves. There was a point at which we were working towards not labelling people, but now every group of people, and every group within a group needs a label that they identify as. I think that is making us less tolerant and less respectful of those different from ourselves; it's almost like we are trying to find reasons to hate on each other.
Exactly! There's enough hate already and we desperately need some more peace, calm and tolerance.

As a millennial I feel too old for TikTok. The idea of new emergent mass-media apps and sites just leave me nonplussed. Any one else? Am I just going prematurely tech-senile?

hello i am gen z and would like to say hello and yes i do judge many millennials. but its ok calm down hahah its literally just kinda who we are at this point? idk lmao
Gen z doesn't know what real jokes are, real pranks, enjoying things and having to deal with s**t from boomers and now gen z. Gen z are those influencers out there just spoiled. When exactly this generational bashing started??? Hate, hate, hate! I hate this, I hate that. So is there anything meaningful, noteworthy, or benevolent you do like???
I find it sad that none of the above can speak, type or use proper grammar like the educated nitwits they claim to be.
Gen Z is so depressed and boring that they think millenials liking a movie that was a global phenomenon and drinking coffee is somehow problematic.
Maybe this is one giant experiment and we are all test subjects. In addition to the generational squabbles, individual thought is usually frowned upon, well that's been like that for some time now
Don't really gen Z. All is forgiven by the massive troll of Trump's Tulsa 'rally'
This is beyond ridiculous. Now we're hating age groups. Ageism, great.
No idea why this is a thing. I cringe when someone uses overused terms like adulting and know any further conversations with them will be bereft of anything real. Also watching people make comments like that on tiktok just reinforce they dont really know the true look nor feel of the generation they are attempting to make fun of. I see people in the 50's being called boomers, but by real definition, they are Gen X. And there are two Gen X groups...the children who grew up on Pong, listening to British pop music, cross over rap, hair metal, and who marched against apartheid and dressed preppy and like early Madonna, who learned to type and then learned the keyboard. Then a few years later their siblings who listened to grunge, more rap, loved video games and computers, and dressed in flannel shirts. Both were the same generation. Boomers were the parents of those people.
Every generation thinks the one before it and after it is defective.
It's cool I'll just kick back and wait for gen z's kids to get old enough to slam on them. Then I'll jump in with my sick insults and they'll get it from both sides. (That's what she said)
Jokes on them, as a millennial I could care less. My life is a dumpster fire why would I care what high schoolers think of me.
"I hate all people from such-and-such a race" is unacceptable. "I hate all people from such-and-such a country" is unacceptable. Why do some bigots think hating all people from such-and-such an age group is fine? It's not fine.
Lol hey gen z , hold on "sips coffee", just me, a millennial adulting over here. Just wanted to.say if we're so "awful" then why write threads about us at 3am ........who has a life? Oh I think us, poor sleep deprived gen zero 😊 sorry have had a horribly s****y day and misery loves company ;) lolololl
I named my son after a video game character. :/ But I love this generation. You guys, they're actually going to be the ones that end so many injustices in the world. They are understanding and compassionate and fight for their beliefs. When I was that age, I held my parents beliefs and didn't care about the world. These kids can change the world.
OMG we have become the wierd middle child :/ Old ppl ignore us and kids think we have no drip. To quote one of our best poets N. Minaj "CHIIIIIILL' " D:
Everyone will get old someday and they'll experience the very same thing their complaining for. It's not a matter of generations. I know, cause I did the same to my parents and they were gen.X and now that I'm adult, I get it now.
Gen Zs can do those things because they are young. Wait until they are 50, see if they can still multitask to that degree. If they haven't worked themselves to death by then. It sucks for anyone of any age who doesn't have that silver spoon.
You don't want to be associated with us? Well we can get rid of many of you Gen Z; for many of you if someone says something you disagree with in your 'safe space' you'll die like the little snowflakes you are.
Probably. My teenager loves metal so much he decided to become a luthier.

I mean, yeah, I cringe at those things if someone does them and I'm technically a millenial. Then again, I also cringe at the Gen Z stuff.

Still, both generations have horrible taste in what they think is "music". Faux-folk with its "whoaaa whoaaa" lyrics and an aucoustic guitar in the background is almost as bad as trap "music".
I don't know if it's true. My parents used to drink and party when they were my age. I don't drink nor party, I don't care about Harry Potter houses or whatever it is called. I don't like young people these days, though, because they swear, drink, smoke and listen to very ugly music under my window. I know it's normal for teens to feel like the poorest things in this bad world, but why so much hate and foul language? What special and useful do they do to make the world a better place?
Much of this is reality. The Boomers were handed everything. A decent system that worked towards maintaining the middle class. The main issue was racial and gender equality. Instead of solving that, they brought in Reagan who promptly redistributed the money upwards. The boomers, having already benefited from both a system that helped achieve the American Dream and parents that saved and paid off their homes, decided it was all about them. They enacted laws criminalizing things that they got off with a warning, sold out family inheritances, and let politicians run amok as long as they were catered to.
