One thing to note - see how the road in the first image is dirt with two parallel ruts and grass in the middle? That pattern of wear is due to modern cars - in medieval times you would also have had a horse, ox or other draft animal walking on the middle bit, so you wouldn't have had grass there...

Feel totally the opposite. All the grading in the film version obscures how amazing these places look. Really hate the dark mood lighting that's ruined cinematography for the last decade or so. If I want to.imagine the visuals I'll read a book.

Ok I can maybe excuse the constant references to King's landing's gardens as highgarten, but this scene obviously took place right after Jon and DAny arrived in Winterfell. It's supposed to be in the North, not on Dragonstone. Yall really out here believing every Tyrell scene is set in highgarten and every targaryen scene is set in dragonbstone huh

Right, I just don't get it. Why bother to travel far away with all the equipment and all the crew to set it in a given background if you're going to manipulate the final image so much? Wouldn't it be easier to just shot everything in a Studio and digitally create the whole background?

Lots of Croatian scenes. I'm surprised they didn't find a use for "Hitler's Eye", the submarine tunnel in Sibenik harbour.
