Friendship is all about trust and sticking up for one another, even when things get very tough. The only problem is that certain crazy situations might test even the best of friends and force them to pick a side, even if they don’t want to.

This is what a man struggled with when he suddenly realized that his bestie’s boyfriend seemed to be tracking his movements, but he didn’t know whether he should voice his concerns to her. He felt extremely worried that his suspicions could end their relationship and turn her against him.

The man later found out that Logan was learning about his movements by asking his girlfriend, and so he decided to confront his friend about the situation

The poster was also shocked when he told his bestie about his suspicions, and she accused him of calling her boyfriend gay rather than being concerned for his safety

Since the OP had known his friend, Rory, for quite a while, he was comfortable meeting her boyfriend, Logan, and thought nothing of their first interaction. Only when he started noticing the man wherever he went, alarm bells started going off, and he began to worry that he was being stalked.

According to safety experts, when you suspect that someone might be following you, it’s important to be on your guard and pay attention for a day or two to make sure they really are on your tail. You can also try changing your normal routine and see if the individual is copying your movements.

Since the poster was quite freaked out by seeing Logan everywhere he went, he didn’t know what to do about the other man’s behavior at first. Eventually, after asking folks for help online, he decided to check if there were any bugs or trackers in his vehicle, but luckily, he found nothing of the sort.

Another way to protect yourself against someone who might be following you is to let your friends know about the situation and to share your location with them. By creating this network of safety, you will be able to call them whenever you’re feeling unsafe, or also have them back you up in case you’re in a concerning situation.

Since the OP couldn’t seem to figure out how his friend’s boyfriend was able to know where he would be, he started passing information about his whereabouts to acquaintances to see if any of them were telling Logan. Eventually, he figured out that it was actually Rory who was innocently letting things slip.

This made the man realize that he had to protect himself, which is why he decided to talk to his friend about the issue. Unfortunately, when he told her that he felt Logan had been stalking him, her first thought was not to offer him any comfort, but to get mad as she thought he was accusing her boyfriend of being gay.

It’s clear that the OP’s friend was probably not going to help him out, which is why he needed to take matters into his own hands. That’s why professionals state that when people are being stalked, they should gather as much evidence as possible and report the matter to the authorities and their loved ones.

The poster finally decided to make sure he was safe by keeping Rory and Logan at a distance till his semester ended. He also made sure to always go out with friends or acquaintances so that he could be protected in case the man ever approached him again.

How would you have handled this situation if you were in the poster’s shoes? Do share your thoughts with us and opinions on the story.

People were shocked by Rory’s reaction and felt that the poster should start collecting evidence of Logan’s behavior so as to protect himself

My concern first would be that the BF would be wanting to keep tabs on OOP because they dont like gay people

Do people really tell each other where they will be going for a coffee at what time etc? It feels a bit made up because of that. It was many, many years ago I was at uni, but we never did things like that. You would only tell someone where you were going to be in order to meet up. Even now, I tell my wife if I'm going somewhere, but not anyone else, unless we are arranging to meet.

People these days with social media announce plans all the time. It’s crazy. It comes across as “hey, (tagged name), wish you were here”. This guy comes a cross as being from NYC

I'm betting Logan is bi and Rory doesn't want to have to acknowledge it.
