Person Can’t Believe The Difference Between Economy And Business Class After Getting Randomly Upgraded To Business Class
You often hear rumors about lucky travelers getting surprise ‘upgrades’ on long-haul flights, finding themselves bumped into business or first class either by cheekily asking for it or just plain luck.
It hasn’t happened to me yet, despite trying the asking trick on several occasions, so I was never quite sure how true these rumors were. Well now we definite proof, after Imgur user humanbean10 posted the results of their lucky upgrade, giving us a peek behind the curtain and showing us how the other half lives.

No more slumming it in cattle class! I actually think that having one of these experiences would ruin flying for me for good, knowing how good it can be. But with first-class and business plane tickets costing as much as 70% more than economy airfare, it remains out of reach for the vast majority of travelers and is just not worth the difference in price. Or is it?

Humanbean10 does present a strong case, with the reclining chair, legroom and meals just pure envy-inducing. It’s enough to have you looking for tips on how to get that lucky upgrade!

According to Humanbean10, the airline was Asiana and it was a simple case of them getting a moved seat. Little did they know where they were getting moved to!

Dessert: various cheeses, fruit, and a dessert wine

“I was told during check-in that they had moved my seat, and was wondering if I was ok with that. When I got there, this is what I came to,” they said.

Now that’s a nice surprise! Many airlines offer Michelin-star quality food on their business class menus, a far cry from that awful plasticated crap we are used to in economy.

As well as things like flat beds, private screens, Wifi and expensive gift bags, one airline, Emirates and their A380, has two shower spas, complete with heated floors!

Here’s what people had to say about the lucky upgrade
The food is presented well, but that foie gras would have ruined my appetite too.
Load More Replies...Got lucky to be upgraded on Emirates flight HKG to Singapore. Both of us-me and my husband. Traveling alone sometimes you can get upgraded, but upgrade for to people traveling together thats so doesnot happen offten. Oh man-champagne before flight, stek, wine, flat bed was so good i didnt even eat beakfast as i was sleaping so comfy. Every time i fly economy i remember that flight with tears in my eyes.. :)
That has happened to me once on the Etihad flight. I wish I took photos, but I just slept through the entire flight))))
I’ve been upgrade to business class a number of times flying Etihad from London to Australia. I always just ask at check in
Load More Replies...Not sure... which company have in front of the airbus 380, two nice bathroom with shower and a few minutes grant of water (with a countdown display) far enough to have a shower. One can book the spa use for 30 minutes if I remind well, after takeoff or before landing. There's a dedicated staff so every use is brand new. Another company has big suites for two people with ensuite bathrooms and showers but that cost like an average car. if you checkout on airliners.net there's plenty of photos, altough my best now are no more cockpits but trip reports.
When I flew Emirates I had a shower in first class.
Load More Replies...The early 1970s I had to get an airline ticket at the Oakland Army Depot for basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. The ticket would be from San Francisco to Philadelphia via Chicago. I was kind of high, with a friend and a Navy guy was filling out the ticket when I asked him if they were sending me first class. He just shook his head and continued writing. A few weeks pass and I am boarding at SF. The give me a first-class boarding pass. I said what? Free beer! I have to change planes in Chicago and KNOW they will catch the mistake there. Nope. More FREE BEER! Was pretty drunk when I got to Philly but it was late and we stayed the night there. Yes, I had long hair back then and was wearing bell-bottom blue jeans, I remember.
Happened to my wife and me on our honeymoon, flying with Emirates after a midnight layover in Dubai to Kuala Lumpur. Snacks at the bar, massaging seats that transform into beds, real utensils. Never arrived at a destination better rested! 👌
Its nice to be upgraded but i would never fly biz class on my own dime. the extra cost would mean at least fine dining meals.
If the upper class was ok with having a little less than the rest of us could have so much more. Too bad elitism is still a thing.
If anyone ever gets booked on Air France or Thai Airways, sell a kidney and upgrade to First Class. IT IS AMAZING!
History lesson here, upgraded to first class on my first overseas trip probably because I was the only non native onboard. Sydney to Belgrade, 1978 JAT, national airline of the then Yugoslavia, worst flight ever. Harassed the whole time by drunken men who ignored remonstrations by military type stewardesses. Glad I hadn't paid for first class, they should have paid me!
Maybe this is how I should fly to Japan in three years. This looks amazing
I flew Malaysia Airlines from LHR to KHL on business class it it was identical to the pictures above, brand new plane so I think business class on long haul on new planes it just next level!
We always fly business or first class, even for domestic and most definitely for international. Next step is to pick up Amex platinum card for lounge access. $595 a year isnt bad for the things one can get at a good lounge. You only live once, might as well enjoy it!
That steak and potatoes looks horrible. Like it came out of a TV dinner and they slapped it on a nice plate.
Prosciutto goes well with melon (that's not watermelon) and yes, most european countries have a plate of assorted cheeses as dessert. Swede here.
