I have a big decision to make. My brother needs a kidney transplant because of bad life choices. I most likely will be a match. We grew up in Liberia, West Africa where Family is everything. I'm just trying to process everything and what it may mean for my own quality of life. Hes 47 and he along with my family is pressuring me to just do it. He has been on dialysis for 8 months and has always wanted whatever he wanted right away. I keep trying to remind him that he is lucky to be in a country where he had access to treatment. I'm 52 years old. I have always been the one to take care of everyone buy I am scared.

This may be controversial but friends can go too hell, there is nothing stronger than family
You get to choose what to do with your body, unless you're a woman, but anyway. No matter what you choose, it's ok. It doesn't mean you don't love your brother. It's surgery, they're removing a part of you, that decision shouldn't be taken lightly. I hope the best for you and your brother, but whatever happens is not your fault. Best of luck
