Photoshop Master Reveals Why You Should Never Trust Photos You See On Social Media
It's becoming increasingly difficult to know just what is real and what isn't when browsing the internet. We're not just talking about fake news either, but the millions of photoshopped images, often very far from reality.
Take a look at these incredible before and after photo manipulation examples to see what we mean. They were Photoshopped by a Weibo user who goes by the name of Kanahoooo, although Chinese social media prefers to call her "Photoshop Holy." Why? Because her photo editing skills are nothing short of Godlike, which is why she has over 430,000 followers. Whether she's altering guys or girls to match the beauty standards, or even turning guys into girls, there seems to be nothing that the skilled image editor can't do. Kanahoooo, whose day job, according to MSN, is to make people look "shiny" and live up to their high expectations, apparently provides Photoshopping services to people who want to look better on their online profiles. "Don't believe the perfect thing you see online!" she says. "If you want to find out about somebody, then see them in real life." Check out some of her best images below, and let them act as a cautionary reminder that, when it comes to the internet, there's a very thin line between fact, fiction, and the ugly truth.

I can spot most of the changes; can do this stuff myself in fact (if it ever occurred to me it was needed) and BTW I don't use Photoshop. My critique of this is that by creating more 'light' on the lady (lessening the shadows), the artist has bleached out a lot of the other important details. Look at the soup, for example. The table top: the inside of the cup. Delicate details bleached out of existence. One more minute to bring back the rest of the scene in its original quality would have done this pic a lot of good!
I agree. I wouldnt really call her a "Photoshop master". Because anyone who is actually good with Photoshop would know how to retouch the person in the picture while leaving the objects untouched. Well, at least believable. Lol
Load More Replies...It's easy to see these are manipulated because they all look fake. Also it's like the artist (and probably her entire culture) imagined the western ideal of a narrow chin and big eyes to be attractive. It's sad because it's a Disney-fied ideal, when even Disney characters look better when they are normalized. I find this to be a sad commentary on society. If the artist is reading this, please know that the original photos with possible tiny improvements are way prettier. Throw away everything you think you know about beauty that you learned online from America and from Disney. You will do your clients a greater good by not changing them so much. Reality is way prettier!
I personally think she's absolutely beautiful in the first pic. She needs no retouching at all. She has natural beauty!
How sad; turning a real person with an interesting face - into a Concept-Clone.
Lol, why the fashion photographers even needs that models are so "beautiful" and special? It's boring already. :)
The remake is still not quite right, if the Golden Ratio is observed. He should have left the face just a wee bit fuller. http://www.intmath.com/numbers/math-of-beauty.php
the one on the right looks like one of those early Japanese humanoid robots.
Yep, I don't even see the point here anymore - could have just created a whole digitized person to begin with.
It actually looks like that's what was done, since the second image doesn't resemble the first with the exception of the costume.
Load More Replies...Yes, I would say the same. I don't think it is photoshop. Left is the cosplay, right is what she on the left wanted to cosplay!
Load More Replies...This can't be the same . The dress looks at some points completely different... Like the white thing under the arm. Or the flower thing that looks tilted. Or the glove in front of the body...
What's sad is how often young ladies like this will have plastic surgery to achieve the "after" ...
Lisa, you're absolutely right. Double eyelid surgery is super common in Asian countries.
Load More Replies...I don't get this at all. You are what you are. If I take a photo and I don't like it, I just try to get the best photo of MYSELF I can...not a photo of an entirely different person. I refuse to blur out wrinkles or anything in my own photos. I just want the best photo of myself I can get but I sure as heck don't want a photo of an entirely different person. This is just false advertising. What are these people posting these photos on? If it's a dating site I'd be pissed off. If it's a family photo I wouldn't even recognize them as a family member. It's ridiculous. They're not even photos of them. There's no point to this at all.
Yeah, the “after” face looks like it has paint on. It's definitely a failure if they were aiming for a “natural” look.
Load More Replies...The first is better. It's as if she is hiding something and it has more depth
She doesn't even look like the same person in the second shot--why take a photo if you're not going to be yourself in it?
i would only add a smile. in the traditional way. ;)
Load More Replies...In the first picture, I thought she was super cute and I looked at the second picture and realised, oh.
Photographer: "Smile! Or don't. All the same to me, I can just get you Photoshopped."
thats on all of them, she just pasting some elses face and matching it with the body position
Load More Replies...The point of the post is not to bash the original photo and say that the photoshopped version is better. The point is that many times we see these pictures of "perfect people" on the internet and buy into it believing that's true. Many persons beat themselves up about not looking a perfect as someone they've seen on social media.
I'm sorry ... what ... but ... Whatever happened to the remarkable *Human Being* I could see in the first photo?
now that comment is racist, they are not all the same people
Load More Replies...But its s**t like this, and the Photoshopped magazine covers that can basically heard young, impressionable, vulnerable girls into the idea that this what you see after Photoshop "Should be a norm. that a lot of the time should be put in to having skin like these girls, having their waist size, thigh size, bone structure" in the face when these models don't even have that themselves in real life. I know that because I was one of those girls. 10 years later I'm in a black hole that I can't just magic myself out of. These standards make girls want to achieve weight loss that even the models won't endanger themselves to achieve.
Load More Replies...but why would they change the picture this extremely? The person on the right is a completely different person! Nobody would believe that they are the same, so why?
Underdeveloped, 'malformed' jawline would not likely culminate in a mouth as full as the first (real) girl's. She already has a slender jaw. This just makes her lower face jut out and down in an unrealistic way. Her face no longer has balance.
It's photoshop like this that confuses me. What are the differences other than the tiny tear near the armpit?
My eyes must be getting really bad the only difference i can discern is her neck
No no no no no. Apart from looking like a child robot, all her exquisite bone structure hs been wiped out!
Its quite sad that a lot of these girls think the only way to achieve more is to have lighter skin than your race can achieve
How is the gorgeous woman on the left deemed so 'unacceptable' as she is that an inhuman 'being' of a completely different face, size, age, race and species is considered more desirable!?
The end result is everywhere the same uniformed stiff and rigid baby doll face. What for??
Yea thats such a good job !! I'd never notice its photoshopped!!
Load More Replies...not needed, just looks like she completely switched nationality
She looks slightly more Caucasian somehow, with thinner, less 'attractive' lips, since that's where we're evidently going here. That's the only difference.
I personally think that she looked way better in the first one. She doesn't even look like the same person after editing!
the edited pic has that super-fake plastic doll finishing
Load More Replies...It makes all of them look like young children in grownup bodies. Ugh! :'(
Well, congratulations on your masterful shoulder-slimming skills! Hope that takes you far in life and makes you feel proud. PS: You accidentally turned her face into an 11 year old AI robot head.
My first reaction is that she looks way sexier in the first pic. (No offense to thinner or bigger girls, it's the way she carries the weight naturally that's more attractive than the altered pic.)
I think the girl wanted larger eyes because that has been "fire hose" fed to the public in cartoons/anime/advertisements, and none of us can withstand that level of exposure over the long term... We have to surround ourselves with real people, and avoid the world of lies as much as possible...
Load More Replies...The first photo is perfect. Why do they always want to have "European" eyes? sigh And why did she remove her little cute freckle?
wtf I saw her photo on pinterest and I felt really bad after seeing them now I dont know what to think
Why do people seem to be fed this notion that eyes must be bigger to be better, and noses always smaller? It's such a fallacy! It's simply not true. Her eyes were soulful and beautiful before being tampered with; her nose suited her whole face.
BEAUTIFUL before? Are you serious? Hoe looks like been visiting chernobyl.
Load More Replies...I think I'd rather be friends with the woman on the left. She has a genuine happiness in her face.
Nothing worse than (more often than not) girls editing themselves to achieve something that is unneeded, and frankly impossible to achieve :(
Some of the comments on these pics are totally rude, your comment? Your comment wins above all the comments! Lmao. I can't unsee it now.
Load More Replies...The one on the right is just too pretty... all the masculine was 'shopped away.
Sadly, that's kind of the trend in Japan, especially with men. Have you ever seen a KPop video? Oh my god, all those guys are too damn beautiful. Lol And don't get me started on their. The men in those videos are more gorgeous than some women I know! Not that that's a bad thing at all. I just envy them, especially their hair!
Load More Replies...Absolutely no resemblance. Every single aspect of his face is different to the point of being unrecognizable. WHY?!
I feel so bad for this man. The message that he's been fed his whole life is that only men with narrow features and big eyes are attractive. We need to spread the word that the only dressing your face needs to improve it's looks, is a genuine smile...
Mibo-I agree, don't like them either. the first-real are beautiful and awesome. the others white washed for what? ug I hate that.
Have to disagree with the term 'white-washing' here. Much of Asia's current beauty standards isn't about trying to look internationally 'white'. Making her fairer - not to look white but because fairness is associated with wealth. A fair lady meant that she doesn't need to do manual labour out in the hot sun so it became a beauty standard in many asian countries. Slimmer face - well she looks skinnier now no? It's quite the norm in many places. The bigger eyes - it's to look more child-like hence younger. Caucasians have 'deep-set' eyes that has the tendency to make them look older than Asians. So no - definitely not trying to emulate 'white' eyes.
Load More Replies...They photoshop them all to the same face??? I mean do we want everyone to be clones??? No thanks!!!!
She always "westernizes" the eyes, makes the face pale and thin, and adds the SAME BROWN EYE SHADOW. She makes everyone look the same - not impressed
But its s**t like this, and the Photoshopped magazine covers that can basically heard young, impressionable, vulnerable girls into the idea that this, what you see in these photos, is natural aim for them and that they should spend, months even years to achieve these bodies. Not having the bodies that the media report as a norm these girls, sabotage their waist, size, skin colour, size in general and practice the barbie like bone structure" in the face when these models don't even have that themselves in real life. I know that because I was one of those girls. 10 years later I'm in a black hole that I can't just magic myself out of. These standards make girls want to achieve weight loss that even the models won't endanger themselves to achieve.
I get the softening, the lightening and perhaps the slimming but why over enlarge the eyes? A little wider than the one on the left would be more believable. Too big makes these ladies look scary. ( This woman and two before her.)
Great job on the photoshop! It takes talent to make it look like that.
He does not need to be photo-shopped. He already look good on the first picture.
The first one actually looked better. The photoshoped one give me the creeps.
What? He is already handsome and they made him look less attractive?
They photoshopped out the features that made her herself!! She's adorable before and after, but the original one has more natural beauty...
Ikr ! She looks like a racoon now idk the color around her eyes and the eyes themselves ....
Load More Replies...most of these just need a little light tweaking and maybe a little makeup due to the camera angles and what not. so unnessecary
Oh God! She was absolutely adorable! Why trim all the uniqueness, personality and genuine beauty off her head? There is no way I'd want to sit at lunch opposite the manga cyborg if I could sit with the real person instead. I LIKE personality.
This one has weird lighting :( could look way better with better lighting
these manipulations show the beauty ideals of this region well, sadly.
Why’d see have to change her skin tone? Or anything for that matter
It's like they photoshop everyone to look like the same manga person--what's the point of existing if everyone is exactly the same and you don't add anything to the world???
I like this one. Everything is more visible, no more harsh shadows and just a tiny bit slimmer. The photoshop work just took off the 10 pounds the camera put on.
Eyes are more believable here, more light, more color saturation in the right places but the model's original mouth would have looked better since the face was made thinner. However, the flat pasty face looks plastic. It lost any chance of being believable. I get the alabaster skin concept but light skin has, if nothing else, the reflective color of its surroundings.
in EVERY photo these all have bigger eyes and smaller noses as if trying to look more American!!!
Photoshop nicely done but not necessary, you're amazing on your natural way!
What is wrong with the 'artist'? Have they lost their grip on the very concept of 'identity'? I need to shut this page down. Later, android ladies!
They're anglicizing these non-Anglo people. That is wrong. Very wrong.
Why shall they alle look younger, thinner and less asian, wonder why they have'nt photoshopped the teddy :-/
The photo on the left was so close! Sure, lighten a bit tweek the upper lip down a bit if you prefer a softer smile, but she has nice full lips with good color that pops more with the red of the ribbon and sash. I see a slimmer nose must be another popular thing there since everyone wants what they can't achieve in their region. Contouring is big now though and the rich color of the shadows has been lost. Too bad about wanting the longer neck. A little too exaggerated I think.
Aaaaw, you lost the beauty of that gorgeous jaw line. It could have been made slimmer, if that's the look you were trying to get without losing her adorable dimple too. I may have removed the bars from the windows in the background and whatever black thing is sticking out of her side. Perhaps I've been listening to advertisers too long.
Y’all don’t have to lie and say the before better because they’re obviously not better.😂
If the models could talk, they'd say, "Stop trying to turn me into a westerner. I'm Asian and proud of it!"
Not really. It's an eastern beauty standard based on a time long past that boils down to the fact that rich people didn't have to work outside and as such have paler skin. While I can agree that something is off with the edited picture, it definitely is not in any way anyone's intent to make those people look western.
Load More Replies...Who would guess when seeing the lower photo that it would even show the person from the upper photo?
in this case they just could have used another model for photo 2, less photoshop work.
I think most of the photoshop done is this set is lighting! So sad that shadows can make your cheeks look wierd
None of these are even sort of the same person. All of the afters though look almost identical. Someone else mentioned regional beauty standards, and I concur. They all look like manga dolls in the after pics, even the guy. All individuality is lost, so what the hell is the point?
Nope... too much is done here. There is no resemblance to the real person anymore.
I think it's sad how almost all of them are manipulated to make the eyes rounder and more European-like. Those eyes are what make Asian women beautiful.
The photoshopped picture looks like a caucasian male friend of mine, lol.
I get enhancing with photoshop or whatever, but these all make the people look like completely different people
We need more manga artists to draw and create fantastic stories with more realistic people in them. the stories can be as crazy and outrageous as any manga, but the people, the way they look, needs to come back to reality so that we are not encouraged to hate ourselves so much.
I think if you want to make the eyes larger, pull them closer together. This appears too much like "that alien look." Like that you tidied the collar up a bit.
And what will she listen after 20 years? Look how nice you were, now you're here with your 25 kg plus. :)
Load More Replies...Her arm looks fake in the second one. Like a drawing. There's no elbow
The message of these manipulated photos is "you're not good enough, pretty enough, I want someone else"... I get fixing the light but this..
All of the women seem to have the same face once they've been Photoshopped.
Not surprising. A lot of the individuality comes from the “defects”, as they are seen, and in removing those the artist made it much harder to distinguish between faces.
Load More Replies...Does anyone else think the re-done faces are the same? Very little differences once you make the eyes more Western, narrow the nose and face, and accentuate the pointed chin. They all end up looking the same.
Yeah. It's like she has one face on back-up and just uses that one on every photo. Tweaking it a bit to fit.
Load More Replies...The neck line on the jumper is different, and parts of the hair are different - the fly away bits on the right and the ends. And obviously of course the face.
All facial contours have been removed. The cute dimples that give the girl depth and humour are removed to leave a face that only a tbousand shots of botox could create. Horror show.
More like PHOTOSHAMED...this is exactly why our daughters have unrealistic expectations of what they think they should look like based on what they see in magazines, internet, and social media.
The same as each other - not the same as the original pictures? Yes, absolutely. The 'whitewashing' ('europeanising'?) of Asian women. Not. Cool.
I have a friend who looks like the "lifeless alien." Come on, just because it's photoshopped doesn't mean it's not pretty.
Load More Replies...That expression! She must already know what you will be doing to her beautiful self.
she's much nicer in the original photo, the other looks like some sort hunted doll
Have u ever seen a young asian man? That's pretty much how some look, though the eyes would be smaller. Asians can be quite androgynous.
Load More Replies...I was kind of hoping the beard would be gone. That is just an AWFUL little patch of facial hair.
If he got rid of it in the second pic it would look as if he had a sex change operation
Load More Replies...He looks like a rugged man with character in his face in the first shot. The young man in the 2nd pic, looks to young and really doesn't look like the same guy.
The second smaller man lives inside that big man...:-D so funny ( but PS skills are there )
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Put down the Photoshoppe! Go to bed! You're outta control!
Yeah, he does have a nice mouth and I see you kept the eyes. Unfortunately the glasses no longer work on such a slim face.
Mum and her creepy daughter going shopping together in matching outfits.
If she is unhappy with the jawline then a change in hairstyle would do the trick .
Making the eyes bigger reminds me of the youtube girl Maggi Bon. If anyone remembers her.
Actually it's Magibon from youtube. I spelled it wrong.
Load More Replies...Why do all these Asian women feel the need to westernize their unique facial features?! Asian women are beautiful! Why do they think they look better as a generic anime or manga character?
They are not. As much as I think the artist overdid it and the end result is cruddy, in a lot of eastern countries pale skin is something of a status symbol and not because “oh, western people, they be so powerfulrlish” but rather because in the old times rich people did not have to work outside and thus had paler skin.
Load More Replies...The second one looks a tiny bit like an inflatable "friend".
Load More Replies...Some women (myself included) just naturally have some skin discoloration in that area. It can look like 5'o clock but there's no hair.
Load More Replies...seriously those bruises are DISTURBING!! someone beat her!!!
Load More Replies...um, who beat this girl? wth happened with all those black and blue marks on her legs!!!
At this wonderful moment of summer my legs looks the same like her in first photo. And it's just becouse the mosquitos, and all bumps witch appear from nowhere in my way. Well, even I hope that that's the reason.
Load More Replies...I can understand removing what looks like bruises, I bruise easily and would love to have uniform color. But why remove her calf? Her leg looks atrophied. And why must all the faces be changed into long ovals? Round faces are a part of your/ my family.
I like her legs shape on first pic more. than frail looking legs on second picture
Can you please give this woman her face back? And maybe that handy tub of bruise foundation/cover-up.
Yes that had been a good thing to photoshop away.
Load More Replies...Love this one! Nice color in the face! It could use to have those legs behind vanish though.
What's up with all these dudes turning into females in these photos
because they WANT to be ladies. Some are transgender, and others just like to dress that way, but not take the step that removes the part that makes them men.
Load More Replies...I laughed so hard when I got to this photo. I was like "WTF" XDXDXD
Load More Replies...the second one looks too much like a Japanese doll because of the eyes.
I laughed so hard at this one 😂😂😂why is Key doing here? He doesn't need Photoshop anyway.
Probably laughing at his own photo getting edited like that.
Load More Replies...But it's a guy XD He's a member of korean boyband ;)
Load More Replies...i feel like the whole world is being anime-fied, come on if the dudes like leonardo da vinci saw this they'll kill themselves, they'll sob and ask how come world has become so blind at the true beauty of being your own vivid self
Chubbing little cheeks are cute. She's pretty in the first. The second is nice, but does not look like the same girl.
this at least looks like a real person instead of some CGI character
Sooo, tan round=bad. Bleached oval=good? Not only impossible to change your head structure to be oval, but women are brainwashed into believing the photoshopped person is really out there and better than them?!?
The unique slant of her eyes and bow-curve of her mouth has been completely erased. Plus she's now whitewashed.
Load More Replies...So her skin is a bit lighter and clearer. So what? And they softened up the nose area. I can do that with the camera on my Samsung phone.
It seems to be the same face and the same empty look they use to all the photoshopped :-(
NO! Bad! Stop abusing the children. Life is hard enough without starting them off with no hope of ever liking themselves... ever... This is not a curse against the photoshop artist. She is awesome. I am disgusted with the rest of the world that is blind to what they are doing to themselves.
I love her round face! It's so sweet. The photoshopped child is creepy
What kind of body image message is this sending to a child this young? That's just wrong.
She looks terrifying in the second pic. Shes so cute in the first one.
This way, she seems a bit taller. It's all about perspective.
Load More Replies...The face in the second photo is starting to get to me. I keep seeing it on photo after photo. Please stop.
They're turning these girls into the same generic, big-eyed, pale-faced woman!
when I told my bro most of these kind of photos look so unnatural and that they are not that beautiful to me, beacuse that plastic aura it gives off always unsettles me, i got called being jealous, the hell? i'm upset cause I honestly never felt the need to be even being my own over-weight dark skinned self. than the obviously almost unreal beauty in the photo to the right I'm more attracted to the authenticity and the unique personality in the photo to the left, it feels more safe and pleasant
Theres that face again. That plastic looking face. I liked the first shot, much nicer.
So what will the people who saw her at her wedding say when they see this completely altered image of her? What's the point when everyone knows what you look like already?
Are they asking to be given egg heads? Because that is exactly what all these pictures have in common.... a flawless egg head.
a small V shaped face to be exact, it's a thing in Korea
Load More Replies...All these bug eyes are going to give me nightmares. Stay with the original.
She looks like a sweet young girl on the first pic. On the second pic, I keep thinking I'm seeing the same girl in pic after pic.
The whole pic has been lightened a lot. What's that on the table in front of her? The round things look like potatoes!
He is a hottie before photo shop. He has a man of mystery look compared to elf boy.
I don't understand why he wanted to look like a pedophile's dirty dream. He was hot... was... that second pic is just sad. who wants to be themselves anymore? you can't go out into the world if everyone thinks you are someone else. You can't meet that person who fell in love with your fake face. Dooooom....
At least you can tell it is the same girl. Guess she just wanted to look thiner.
Why, why, the girl is beautiful on the first one. No need for changes!
No ones eyes are that big in real life! They've even changed her eyebrows!
Another complete abandonment of unique and exotic Asian feature in favor of westernized ones. Why?! What a shame.
The second looks like all the other after shots. No individuality left.
The original looks natural and the other one looks like an animation
Likely just a model for a specific photo, gender didnt likely matter
That looks like a custume for an office party, look at the background
the before has way more emotion in it and is a really nice photo. the after she just looks like a robot in power saving mode.
The first looks like there is a story. The second looks like a mannequin just sitting there.
I'm not seeing the amazing skills in most of these. It's obvious they're photoshopped. Who has eyes like those in the second picture? I can get the same effect with the photo editor on my Samsung camera.
Perhaps photoshop'er likes them toooooo :)
Load More Replies...That is face from Mangas, anime personalities. Horrible that all are same, no personalities!
Cute on the first photo, second photo, that face is one I keep seeing over and over.
Her natural face has a much sexier look. Smokin, compared to bored Barbie
Another complete westernization of otherwise beautiful Asian features. Why is this desirable?
The target face isn't from the west so much as from anima. In Asia there is a preference for less-coarse features, more childlike (or anyway youthful), which is what a lot of these photoshops are doing. A lot of these girls probably looked like their photoshops when they were teens. Drop your knee-jerk reactions and you'll see the world better.
Load More Replies...if all females in asia look like anime character, then i am scared to go back home.... lol
Your main problem would be in telling one girl from another. ;)
Load More Replies...looks like park shin hye in the after.. but i prefer the original one because basically shes alrdy pretty
Ok come on now. There is NO resemblance here whatsoever!! It's just so over the top.
I would give you two points to get you out of the negative if I could - I have no idea why you were marked down for this comment. I completely agree with you!
Load More Replies...most photos here just needed flash fill, That cell phones don't offer ....yet?
These just suck the personality out of them. So bad. I think she looked awesome before.
All that and they couldn't remove the chewed food in her mouth? Eew.
Slightest change of them all. Looks like the only thing done was thinning her right cheek. Still imo first pic looks a bit better
It's subtle, I agree, but: curve of cheekbones altered, jawlined altered, face slimmed down, eyes widened, lower lip made smaller, nose smaller and more pointy, forehead made smaller, even her earlobe has been changed!
Load More Replies...I don't say this easily but the original is definitely more attractive.
I think the original already has what the rest of these women are going for.
This is so far the best example of the original being WAY better than the fake.
This is just all kinds of wrong. The photoshopped version doesn't look real at all to me.
They might as well go all the way and give her those egg shaped eyes from the anime cartoons eyefull-59...8f029b.jpg
left has more sensuous lips and eyes, I would have thought work on eyebrows?
like sure....if you are cosplaying, but other than that....why change yourself? Everyone who knows you will just scoff and think little of you.
You don't need to loose weight! The second one is too skinny for me! I prefer before
The unphotoshopped version has really nice legs. Genarally, she looks better before.
I thought the same thing! Those eyebrows made her look manly.
Load More Replies...Who is taking the before shots? Just a bit of angle change and better lighting would solve s ton of "bad" looks. Its as if they are posing for mugshots, not portraits.
Look at that great smile and those beautiful cheeks in the first one. The second one is one dimensional and flat.
I almost hear her laughter in the left one.The right just looks like a tired brochure image.
Load More Replies...The first one is so much more beautiful because you can see the raw beautiful expression on her face. There's no need for photoshop, honestly.
It makes me sad to see these people changing what makes them so unique and beautiful into something so generic and one-dimensional because of their perception of today's trendy (and unrealistic) beauty standards. Beauty standards change with time, but the beauty these people were born with is timeless and should be embraced and celebrated, not completely obliterated.
These pictures are not a contest to see which one is better. It is just showing the possibilities of Photoshop. If the original picture wasn't added to the gallery, we as viewers wouldn't know the difference between the original or the photoshopped picture. That only goes to show we can only believe 2 percent of what pictures we see on the internet. There is a 98 percent chance the pictures have been photoshopped.
These pictures are not a contest of what picture looks better. It is just showing the possibilities of Photoshop. They lost all of the dimension -- look at her upper nose! Much better before.
First one tells a story. Draws the viewer in. Second one looks like a mannequin posed on a bed.
They all look prettier before the transformation. They were original, after they all looked the same and toooo skinny.
This post should be named "Real people vs Final Fantasy version of themselves"
Ahahaha I thought of Final Fantasy as well, but that game franchise's title becomes a pun in a sentence like yours said in a situation like this. Good one, good one! ♥
Load More Replies...And people wonder why so many girls have body image issues... everyone wants to achieve the unachievable ideal, which is in fact just a perfect mediocrity... if eugenics ever takes our planet will become very boring very quickly.
That happens with so called Supermodels too, most of their photos are Photoshopped as well. That makes it even more of an issue. 😟😵
Load More Replies...Everyone who says "I can't understand why they'd do this" or "why would these people want to have their photos edited until they turned into someone else"... ugly people like myself don't want to "be themselves" or "have individuality"... they have been treated like trash their whole lives for being who they are, they want to be someone else, someone who is considered worthy by society. I'm glad you didn't go through that, but don't assume "being natural" or "being yourself" is always a good thing or what everyone wants. Lots of people want to be someone else entirely if they can, even if it's just online. And our society won't be "boring" if everyone is equally good looking, what would happen is that people would start to actually be judged more on who they are, on the inside and on physical traits we can actually choose (like clothes, make-up and hairstyles), instead of 80% or more being about the genetics first and then personality.
If everybody became "good looking" society would just find something else to criticize. Afterall, it has always been about competition.
Load More Replies...I, like many other BP users, have lived in Asia for a time and been exposed to the different cultural beauty ideals. In the West, we tend to value individual beauty in many different forms- including various body types and shades of skin tone. In Asia, this is not the case. In many of these countries, there is one standard of beauty, which usually involves large eyes (with double eyelids), oval faces, small "high" noses, and light skin color. Saying "why would someone do this?" isn't quite valid in these cases, because it's an entire culture, not one individual.
This is the first time I hear about "double eyelids" in humans. I now realize that what I thought was eye-enlarging surgery is really double eyelid surgery. I cannot believe someone would allow a surgeon to muck around their eyes just for this, but I guess to each his/her own...
Load More Replies...all these show the how the oriental girls want lighter skin bigger eyes and smaller noses. its basically the same face put on all the pictures...its such a shame all thier individuality has gone.
Because the photoshop "artist" is Chinese and she's working from China so her demographic is primarily the people from her own area I presume. Probably just read the article and you might understand why.
Load More Replies...Seriously, what is the obsession with making everyone look like Hentai versions of themselves?? The white skin, red lips, huge eyes. Frightening.
they are not masters, The master retouches but preserves the reality and personality of each person
A master is someone who has acquired complete knowledge over a skill......and they seem pretty damn skillful to me....i mean...they basically create a new person :P
