Even Knowing That He Could Be Sacrificed At Any Time, Owner Leaves His Dog In A Crowded Shelter And Leaves

It was very difficult not to notice the warning hanging on the doors of the Davidson County Animal Shelter urban shelter. It said:

“The shelter is overcrowded. The animal you bring here can be sacrificed at any time.”

The owner of the eight-year-old Jasper also noticed the warning, but that did not change his mind. He left his dog in the shelter.

When the man filled out the papers, Jasper tried to hide at his owner’s feet. He realized that the place did not promise anything good.

The attendants told the man that the shelter was overcrowded and Jasper could be put to sleep at any time. If he repented, it might be too late. The man said he understood everything, bent down and removed Jasper’s collar.

“This is for me and my wife we remember him” – with those shocking words, he turned and left …

There was no special reason to take Jasper to a shelter. The dog was absolutely healthy. Asked why, he replied that his three-year-old grandson did not get along with the dog.

Jasper’s owner left the shelter and the dog began to whimper and tried to run after him, but he did not even look back …

“He was incredibly sad.At first we calmed him down for about 45 minutes, and then we put a crib in my office, surrounded by candy and soft toys.We did not want to put him in a cage.We decided to leave him in a guest room, “said Donna Grooms, the shelter’s director.

She knew Jasper did not deserve such a fate and tried to help him. She came home and did a Facebook post with photos and Jasper’s story.

In the morning, she was called by Lori Lawrimore, one of the founders of the Friends of Eden Animal Rescue, and said she was ready to discuss Jasper’s adoption.

But Lori was not the only one who became interested in the dog. Photos of Jasper on Facebook were seen by Trevor Lawrimore, 23, son of Lori. He recently left home and decided he was ready to have a pet.

Lori was going to Jasper’s shelter when her son called her and said that he had decided to adopt the dog. She could not believe it, she was very happy!

The former owner told the volunteers that Jasper is very shy and did not like anything new. But when Lori brought him for a walk, he realized it was all a lie. Jasper was incredibly excited about everything that was happening again.

After a long walk, it was time to go to the new house. Jasper slept all the way in Lori’s arms.

At the time of returning to Friends of Eden, Jasper wanted to be close to his two saviors, trying to climb on the console of the car for a warmth.

Laurie left the dog for her son and in an hour wrote to find out how Jasper’s adaptation was going in the new house.

Trevor sent him this photo with the words “we lay on the couch together and watched TV”

Jasper is an excellent dog, who quickly got used to the new house. In the first week he was a true angel, but then decided to “play” little. The important thing is that neither Jasper nor Trevor were upset about it.

Now Jasper has a new family, a new home and a new father, whom he loves so much!
