Elephants Run To Say Hello To A Rescued Baby Elephant, Prove They Are Better Than People
388Kviews
A video showing the whole elephant herd running to greet a rescue baby elephant is going viral, and for obvious reasons. The short clip filmed at Elephant Nature Park shows 1 year and 9-months-old orphan elephant Dok Gaew who receives the warmest welcome ever. They can surely teach us a thing or two about friendliness, empathy, and co-existing in peace.
These wonderful creatures are known for their gentle nature and enormous physical strength. They are matriarchal, i.e. females are the ones who run the world in the elephant kingdom. Oh, and they are herbivores, which means they don’t kill for food or just because they want to. And did we mention they don’t harm the planet as humans do?
Let’s be more like elephants, shall we?

i still don't get it! why people who hunt them can be proud ?
I agree. Most of them are being murdered for their ivory, and its horrible. These critters, especially Asian elephants, are very intelligent and more friendly than their African cousins.
Agree with most of your comment but not that Asian elephants are more intelligent or friendly than African, (having read rather a lot on the subject :-) ) I don't know where you get that idea, I've never heard it before. . .
they aren't proud, just greedy.
you know.................respect on so many levels
Elizabeth, are you saying that a family of human mothers would not do exactly the same thing? And if you say that you "ain’t saying elephants are better than humans" then why do you state this in your title?
You're absolutely right. When the first group of Nigerian girls was returned to Chibok, one mother wrapped her daughter as she did when she was a baby & carried her grown daughter on her back. All the mothers were excited.
Well, very rarely. How many children who are orphans in this lousy world have no family to adopt them? Humans in general are selfish. So why do we still have wars on this planet? Why do humans steal, rape, kill, torture one another? Why are humans out of greed destroying the oceans, the forests, lakes and etc.? Because if we were elephants or cows, whatever we would not be in such a horrendous world.
jevais Wow, are you just going to ignore the natural instincts of many animals that kill regularly to survive, that kill babies that are not there own, that "selfishly" eat all they can and could give a dang about how much others get, the ignore abandoned babies, who destroy their environment when a natural change happens. But more importantly, do you honestly believe that most humans are as horrible as you describe? I've lived in many countries, known many thousands of people personally, seen many cultures and, honestly, most people are amazing creatures. Quit hating your species and have a little hope. Or, maybe you hope you can be reincarnated as a cow. (By the way, cows don't do anything remotely "humane." They just eat, poop, and give milk.)
It's not just a herd of "mothers." It's not just that. More akin would be a family, just a regular family, welcoming an orphan. Note, this orphan will be imposed on them. They weren't given a choice. If it was so commonplace, we wouldn't need orphanages or foster homes.
I love elephants ❤️
