Woman Finds A Wet Dog With Something Weird Tied Around His Neck, Starts Crying When She Realizes What It Is

Last Friday, Audra Petraškienė’s ride through a small Lithuanian town was disrupted by a shocking sight. Audra noticed a shivering dog drenched in water. The compassionate woman decided to stop her car to check whether the puppy was alright, but after taking a closer look she noticed a large metal anchor tied around the poor puppy’s neck.

Audra immediately realized that someone had attempted to take the life of this beautiful dog. “I was shocked. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry” she told Bored Panda. “I realized I have to do something immediately,” Audra said. The kindhearted woman took the dog home, cleaned him up and took him to a vet and luckily, the poor puppy appeared to be in good health. “He looked like a kind and helpless dog” she lovingly described him.

Audra decided to inform the police about the incident, and she also posted about the dog on Facebook hoping to find out more about what could’ve have happened to the scared and abandoned pup.

Her post went viral, and it didn’t take long for the owner of the dog to show up and try to claim it. “The owner seemed like a good person. I am sure that he loves the dog” the woman said. However, it remains unclear who did this to the dog, and whether the owner could’ve done anything to prevent it. Audra decided to leave the dog at an animal shelter until the situation is resolved.

So sad, but I'm happy this dog defied all odds. Hope the person somehow gets caught. The best outcome would be them getting water boarded in prison a little, but that would be too much mercy.

Currently investigation shows that the owner is a disabled person who loved the dog a lot, dog is healthy, the owner knows every small trait and the dog even had a flea collar on. The investigation points that some of the neighbors were unhappy because the dog was not fixed and was going on their b***h. Not fully clear yet. The dog is currently being fixed and will wait till the end of investigation at temporary carer. The owner might get a fine for not chipping the dog.

Thanks for the update. I hope that the neighbours have the fear of God and retributional vigilantes put into them, so that they're too scared to make another move aginst the owner or the dog. A media follow-up on this would be good to let everyone know that the world is watching, watching...

I was so happy to see that 30 year old cat in other post till I came here. BP could be sometimes such an emotional see-saw. Holding back tears after seeing the last image in which it feels like the doggo is crying. Happy to know he is alive and well. It's been a day full of mixed feelings.

In my country (Poland) there were about 4 seals found dead at the beach last week. Two of them had bricks tied to their heads... other one had its head smashed... Probably fishermen killed them because seals destroy the fish traps. People are cruel

I do hope the owner /or whoever tried to hurt this dog/ are punished for what they did. No one deserves to be treated like that, no matter if a human or an animal. We are all living beings that deserve to live and find happiness in life. If they no longer wanted a dog, there are ways to find a new home for a pet. It just takes some effort and will.

He doesn't need to go to hell or die a horrible death like so many strange people are posting. People as cruel as the one who did it with the dog. There is such sadness in this beautiful dog’s eyes. Poor thing didn’t deserve to experience such ugliness and cruelty. I get the feeling that the owner is responsible. What a psychopath. I hope this dog finds a new home filled with love and kindness.
