I don't know about your shower thoughts, but I often think about what dogs really think. Do they really not judge us? Do they really know that they're good girls and boys? Do they really look up to us? These and other questions are answered by Xibang (Seebangnow), an illustrator from Singapore, who also recently did similar comics about cats. Of course, I'll never really know what dogs actually think, but the comics illustrate their thoughts pretty accurately, or at least it's what most of us hope that dogs think.

The artist knows how to balance strong emotions, and the comics are every bit as amusing and full of love as they are sad and sentimental. The illustrator brilliantly reveals how despite having a pretense to show what dogs "really" think, the furred subjects of the comic are just what we expect and hope them to be: friendly, loyal, a little bit silly and naive, and sly.

This is brilliant and true and I wish I could upvote it a thousand times.

The artist told us a little about himself and what he does. "I'm a cartoonist from Singapore, and my full-time job is more or less being a dad to my 4-year-old son. Whatever energy I have left with is split between helping out with my family business and drawing."

Seebangnow is no different when it comes to creative struggles, and shared his gripes. "For me, the most difficult part of making comics is probably getting started, especially if I've been too busy to draw for a week or more."

"My artistic process is mainly procrastinating until the guilt of not drawing overwhelms me and I battle through my daily fatigue to get started drawing. I draw on a Wacom Bamboo Tablet to save time, because I'm very rusty and hate my lack of skill in traditional media. I have a whole lot of ideas I've written down in my notes, but sometimes I just try to roll with it and see what happens."

Lol but it’s so true like the cats r just chilling in the corner while the dog is like getting hyped

But he wouldn't do it if he didn't like anything about it. "My favorite part of the process is the end; drawing itself can be tedious and not particularly fun - but I find it rewarding if the resulting work turns out well enough."

The artist has immersed himself in the comic world ever since he was little. He shared some of his key influences. "I grew up with a lot of manga, and only picked up western comics in my teens. I still read a lot of manga - I like how artists liberally borrow from multiple art styles to service the stories they tell, and how dynamic the visual language can be. I think overall, my all-time favorite comic would be Berserk (RIP Kentaro Miura) but I first started copying drawings from Doraemon and Dragonball - oh, and Garfield, lol."

He gave a few words of wisdom to the aspiring artists. "It's really nice to know that people like my art. My advice is to make art for yourself. Draw because you like what you make, or like what you're doing. Art is personal and supposed to be fun. Just pick up a pen and draw. If you don't like your own work, it will suck even if everyone else loves it."

"Thank you to everyone who likes my comics and to Bored Panda for the feature! Please follow me on Instagram, I aim to draw more regularly and make videos and music. Take care and stay safe!"

I know right?! I'm tired of all the bad press cats get. Cats have never killed anybody, while dogs kill people all the time. Even a French Bulldog, according to the news. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/05/14/woman-fatally-attacked-her-french-bulldog-chicago/5188626002/ (Apparently it was huge for a French bulldog -- 55 lb. And I'm not saying dogs are bad, just that they can be way more dangerous than cats.)

All cats need is time. Literally time to adjust. If it has the proper care and effort it should evolve into a lovely, who if you were pushing it's limits would lightly warn you and walk away.

My cat loves me, she doesn't even scratch me when I give her a bath, and that says it all.

My cat was the same way. He would struggle and scream his little head off, but he never scratched me. I miss him...

One of our cats has dog traits. He plays chasey. Follows you around. Sometimes licks you and likes the occasional belly rub. Very interactive cat!

Oh for goodness sakes. Just give me an animal to love so I can talk to them in a goofy voice on their terms. My cats are so loving and affectionate. They follow me around the house and want to be near me at least as much as I want to be near them. Of course I'm more delicate with them than I am with my boisterous doggo. They're small and clean. They don't need much training. They usually smell good naturally. I love them soooo much. I speak English to them and we get each other because we care about each other. I know psycho cats exist and so do psycho dogs and psycho people. My energetic dog is a great indomitable soul. And I get to bring him with me in the car and on walks in nature! He wants to meet everyone and everything, even the rattlesnake on the trail who doesn't want to meet him. He needs to be trained ever day because he makes some unwise choices and he doesn't know how big and strong he is. Just give me some animals to hang out with for life and we'll work it out 😻🐶❤️

Gosh, dogs were domesticated so many years before cats were. You cant try to snuggle with a trained dog then bring in a raccoon and try to cuddle it, and when it bites you, say "Oh s**t. I guess raccoons are just a**holes".

House cats love their humans. They don't communicate it the same way as dogs do but they love their humans

I like how my cat is literally purring and trying to invade my lap as I look at this comic... She's still scratching me in the process, though 😅

My Gary was a very caring kitty, he would gently bump his face with mine, I shall remember him forever.

Yeap. Won't argue with that. It's just that you stop the murder claws long before they reach your eyes.

I read this while trying to feed a dog who has zero interest in food, she could care less. I have to hand feed her and even then it's a crapshoot. Best quality food too. Some days, I can only get a handful in. The Pugs, on the other hand, "not food, ya sure, let's try it anyway.
