The internet has been put on a pedestal as being such a game changer for humanity. True, it has been a game changer. Unfortunately it has changed things for the worse. The various groups that we all know, all too well, have always existed. Before the internet they existed as fractured groups, barely connected. The internet provided them with instantaneous connection and an echo chamber to utterly ignore anything they don't like or agree with.

The anti-vaxxer movement is more than just a different way of thinking. That is not an opinion. It is not I prefer mashed potatoes to stuffing at Thanksgiving kind of thing. Years and years of research has gone into vaccination, with the disappearance of major disease as a result (ie small pox, polio, etc). So that in of itself proves that it works. We know a whole lot about the immune system and for Joe Schmo to come along with a conspiracy theory and no medical knowledge expounding to others of the dangers of vaccination is wrong.
