Movies make you travel to a different world and experience hundreds and thousands of lives, let you into the minds of people who think not the same as you, and help to detach from your own problems. It is a popular way to spend time but you want it to be quality time as there are more productive ways to spend a couple of hours of your day.
Some movies are so bad that you don’t need to finish them to know they are not worth your time. To make other people aware of such movies, Ramaal2000 asked Reddit users, “What movie did you start watching then said ‘F**k this, I'm not finishing this?’”

Everybody was raving about how good this movie was. And it was very well made. But it's just sad. A marriage splitting apart is awful and showing it so realistically is depressing.

We gave up when the Twisted Rock Creatures just casually arrive and nobody bats an eyelid, or even explains them.
It might get better, but I'm 40ish, so only have a few decades left, and dont want to risk wasting the hours required to watch this again.

I really was looking forward to AWIT. I had a rough time as a fifth grader in the 1980s and it was THE book that saved my soul as a kid - I saw myself as Meg- I read and reread it until I was an adult.
So I was truly excited to see this movie with my bf and his kids. After I left the theater I was mad for weeks every time I thought of it.
I didn't mind how it was cast. but the writers skipped over chapters of the book, practically made Oprah the star of the thing and totally made everything up from whole cloth after Meg and Cal escaped Kamazotz. It wasn't even the cliff notes version - it was like the kindergartner version after the saw the trailer once and tried to make the ending deep when they didn't earn it.

In one of the first scenes where Jesus is being tortured by the Romans, Roman One reveals his Cat o’ Nine Tails with barbed hooks. He slams it against a wooden table, and pulls it back to a shower of splinters. He then proceeds to send chunks of Jesus’ back everywhere.
I thought to myself: just kill him already.
And then I found myself wondering: was THAT the point of all this gore-porn? To drive home that the only end to pain and suffering was through THE DEATH OF CHRIST?
Just as I was about to give Mel Gibson grudging respect for maybe almost making a point, Roman One flips Jesus over and starts all over again on Jesus’ front. “Nope,” I thought to myself, “Mel was enjoying himself too much when he made this.” My girlfriend at the time noped out hard, and I definitely wasn’t going to refuse.
The worst thing was leaving and seeing the CHILDREN that these church people brought to see this movie that was rated R solely for violence, their eyes either buried in their seats or dilated to the size of dinner plates, and (I assume) blaming themselves for what they were seeing on screen.
F**k that movie. Happy Easter?
The Emoji movie. It was almost a parody of every CGI kids movie.

Could have been the next Harry Potter and I felt terrible for Riordan. They should have used kids like they did in the Harry Potter movies because they start out 11-12 years old in the books. I don’t even think they read the books til the second one because they gave Alexandra Daddario a blonde wig in the second movie because her character is in fact supposed to be blonde. And they meet a bad guy in the second movie that they shouldn’t even think about until like the 3rd or 4th book.

THIS. Omg, I hated this movie. Annabeth is supposed to be blonde, they screwed up the plot, and Clarice is just flat-out not there. The musical is better than this!

Twice now they have pooched the dark phoenix story. WHY mess with it. I understand the difficulties inherent in the story but they could have come a lot closer to the story. The same with the monstrosity of the new Murder on the Orient Express. WHY change a classic? Vanity? Hubris???
I was hoping for a feel-good goofy movie and saw “Downsizing” while browsing Hulu. After reading the description, I assumed it’d be something like “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and went for it.

The Robin Hood movie. The bad guys have machine gun crossbows. It's f*****g bizarre.
Edit: For anyone that hasn't seen it and is curious, the first scene has Robin Hood in the crusades where the crusaders wear modern gear and flak jackets and they hut hut hut around a bombed out city clearing houses with longbows half drawn at the shoulder like they're spec ops dudes but they get pinned down by an automatic ballista that's basically a machine gun nest but it's OK because they fire a flare arrow over it which calls in an air strike from some nearby trebuchets. I didn't hate this as much as some of the people replying but the whole thing was so goofy and stupid that I couldn't be bothered finishing it.

I’m normally a huge fan of Tim Burton’s work but i have legitimately sat down w snacks, full intent on watching it, three times now and i just can’t get into it.

I love TB, but cannot watch any AH film. I, unfortunately, went down the rabbit hole of learning all about how AH would treat people when not in the public eye, the secret videos of her being a monster to commoners, the smoking gun type evidence of her tipping of paparazzi before arriving somewhere then putting on a “please leave me alone” performance that’s so sad & sappy. The girl has some talent (as long as she doesn’t stray out of hackneyed sentimentality and linear narrative; she’s never take a role from Tilda), but that reason she’s so hated? It’s that her entire persona on and off screen is manufactured. I mean, buying a huge hat, using your man’s # to tip TMZ then putting on a sympathy performance? Fake.
I think the movie is good, just what really bothers me is the white queen. Like, she's pretty and stuff, but the way she moves and talks... I can't do it. It just bothers me so much and idk why
Maybe I'm remembering wrong or mixing it up with something else... isn't there a scene where the white queen is moving all affectedly-graceful like she always tries to, then looks around and sees no one is watching and drops the act and runs? It's been a while since I've seen it but if I remember right I think it shows that the way she acts is supposed to be fake and over the top rather than charming.

This one was okay to me. The only unnecessary gimmick was the animated dance or "futterwacking" of the Mad Hatter at the end.
Style is just style without direction. Might as well just appreciate random stills at that point.
This had the trifecta of bad movies: dumb plot, lousy writing, and over-the-top ham acting. The only saving grace was Sasha Baron Cohen.
The Mummy 3. I loved the Mummy series and Brendan Fraser is awesome but my god that was a hot pile of s**t and the only movie I ever walked out of in a theatre.

I have absolutely no excuse other than I paid $1 in the Blockbuster bin for it and needed to win the "Worst movie" contest with a bunch of friends on Fantasy Movie Friday.

Note to anyone who attempts to watch it - whenever the blonde heaves her bosoms, tosses her hair, and yells "Let me fight him, I'll fight him" take a drink and you'll be dead before the end of the film, so you'll be out of your misery anyway.
FYI: You don't know bad cinema until the bad guys have the evil henchmen in a sword and sorcery flick is wear a spangly rooster costume fight chicken style alongside the guy in a sequined top hat surrounded by knives and bowtie on top of an ape suit.

Years back, I used to love the no-effort parody movies like Epic Movie, Scary Movie, Superhero Movie, Meet the Spartans etc.
Until I watched Scary Movie 5.
When 5 came out, I couldn't see it immediately at the time so I forgot about it and rented it years later. When watching it I realised none of the jokes were funny because they all relied on referencing and parodying the horror movies of that time which were no longer relevant. It was a slog and I turned it off and returned it half way through.

Zombiesaurus.
I love ‘B Movies’ that are amusingly bad. “Ghost Shark” is a particular favourite, but Zombiesaurus (bought for £2 from my local Asda) was so bad I couldnt finish it.
Should have turned off Invisible Man, but my BF was enjoying it.
I literally spent 75% of that movie thinking "NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. Is it over yet? Surely this is the end. Oh god, it's not. F**k." On repeat.
It wasnt even the fact that he was invisible, just everyone not believing the woman over and over....nooope.
It's been 14 years since I broke up with my controlling gas lighting ex. Clearly not long enough to watch this movie. And my ex wasnt ever physically violent.

This was a great remake with a very different take on the story. I can see how it would be (like the review above) a trigger for some that have been in abusive relationships but there is a point to it all.

It's a French slasher film about this woman who wants to steal a pregnant widow's fetus. I've watched so many gorefest movies to boot and for some reason this one just totally took it to the next level for me and I couldn't handle it.
I actually got quite close to the end and I just couldn't finish it.

Bird box. What a horrible movie. I made it pretty far, but realised like 45 minutes in that I had no way to empathize with the main character, I hated her, the way she treated the kids, and I hated the way every other character behaved. I turned it off.
Not a movie, but a TV show. Glee. When I watched the first episode, it invoked a hysterical rage in me that I'd never had before. The characters are awful. The plot is nonexistent. If you watch it, you'll realise that murder is actually acceptable after all.

Arachnophobia. It's not a comedy, and my husband discovered he's a true arachnophobe about 40 minutes into it. We walked around for an hour to calm him down.

The Green Card. The protagonist is not likeable. You know she's committing fraud just to get an apartment with a greenhouse. The guy just wants a green card. There is absolutely no chemistry between that imposter couple. The whole idea of having a greenhouse in your apartment gives me images of infestation problems. The whole movie is just frustrating to watch. You think it's going in one direction and then falls flat.
Tried to watch James Cameron's "Avatar" once. Found it boring and painfully predictable. I never could develop any empathy for those stupid Na'vi.
Artemis Fowl. It desecrated the books and you know, Butler is basically a slave and I think, Eastern -European in the books. Disney in a stroke of genius, make him black! And that is without mentioning the plot. (Kill the mum, combine books, change characters, Fowl Sr.)

Okay, here go's. Forest Gump. I've been told ( vehemently!) that I should have toughed it out but a half hour or so used up my cringe quota for the year.

"From Dusk till Dawn" about 20 minutes or so into it I turned it off and made up my own ending. The vampires killed the actors, their agents who conned them into doing that movie, the writers, the director, etc.

I've only seen 6 of these on this list, and most I've never heard of. But I have to agree that Cats was the absolute worst! (I saw the broadway play a few decades ago and that was fantastic!) The only movie I feel was worse than Cats—and not on this list—was Melancholia.
Sometimes a bad movie can be fun. I remember watching "Creature Of The Black Lagoon" in a rep cinema packed with rowdy college students on spring break and really enjoying it. Then there are bad movies that are just plain bad. "A Good Man In Africa" - my partner was a Sean Connery fan at the time and even he stopped watching. "The Story Of O" - it was a midnight showing at a rep cinema and so many people walked out. Most boring artsy-porn film ever, I fell asleep.
Rocky Horror Picture Show. I saw it before it became the camp experience with newspaper, toilet paper, and all the crazy audience participation. I just didn't get it, and ran screaming from the theater. Later on, attended several midnight showings and loved every minute.
World War Z. The only reason I *didn't* walk out of the cinema was because it was raining and I didn't have a jacket with me. It's no wonder that Max Brooks insisted his name be removed from the final film.
I can't believe "Glitter" with Mariah Carey didn't make the cut! It is absolutely the worst movie and acting I have ever suffered through.
Robert Redford's 2013 movie All is Lost. I get it's meant to be all about the cinematography and effects, there's hardly any dialogue and we went into the movie knowing that, but I didn't need 45 minutes to figure out Robert Redford's character can work a boat. There was no build up before or explanation after the main events so we just didn't care about his character at all. Honestly it was just boring and I felt robbed at the end.
The only movie I ever walked out on was Natural Born Killers, despite liking everyone involved with that film, it was a violent mess. A better movie with the same vibe is Kalifornia.
I didn't quite walk out because I'd paid, but worst film I've seen at the cinema was Soloman Kane ( because there was nothing else on ) 1 movie I did turn off is Annie Hall. Not willing to call it a 'bad movie' seeing how much people seem to like it. I guess it's just not for me.
The Stupids. Not sure *why* my brother and i went to see that at a dollar theater. We walked out after half an hour. Still mad about my dollar.

Velocipastor. Read the description, thought that it would be at least a funny B-movie. Nope. Not B, C, or even a D-movie. It's all the way down to J-movie. It's just that bad for acting/script work/special effects/pretty much everything. Never made it past 30 minutes of its 70 minute runtime.
The worst movie I've ever seen was Bruno. Not only was it a terrible movie in general, I made the colossal mistake of going to see it with my father. (For those who haven't seen it, it involves quite a bit of full-frontal male nudity, including scene breaks in which the camera zooms in on a dude's wildly swinging genitals.) I think the only reason we didn't leave the theater is that we were both trying to play it cool by pretending we weren't really there.
Velocipastor for me. I absolutely LOVE some B movies. This was a G movie. Not rated G, but that far down the alphabet in quality/acting/script/special effects/etc.
Anyone try watching the Bee Movie...? Yeah, just don't lol. I finished it, barely. Also can't bring myself to watch the Artemis Fowl movie knowing how bad they messed it up.
I went to see Last Tango In Paris at our student cinema. I was so bored after 40 minutes I went into the proj box and spent the rest of the time talking to the projectionist. Se7en. Also at the student cinema. There was so much background sound the dialogue was barely audible and the detectives never switched the lights on when searching a murder scene, they just flashed torches around and seemed to miss stuff simply because it was too dark. I got irritated and left after 30ish minutes. I just went up to the office and hung out or read a film magazine.
To be fair, Fincher is notorious for lowlighting all his movies, to the point it's now an industry joke. But yeah I hear ya

Men Seeking Women. I was going through a Will Ferrell phase. I was cured immediately afterwards.
Two which I am certain were only crapped out to retain the movie rights: Riverworld and The Dark Tower. Blech.
I fell asleep during The Revenant, but that was more due to a long work shift, being awake for over 12 hours when I watched it, and biking to and from work. Also not a movie, but I stopped watching the anime Eden's Zero before season 1 was over. Same creator as Fairy Tail, and it felt like the creator copied his own homework a little too much with the two series despite the different settings of the worlds. Gave up at around episode 15.
There are three movies I've not been able to finish: I Heart Huccabees, John Carpenter's Vampires and Love & Friendship. Appalling. All very different and all very awful. As for the movies mentioned on this list I've only seen one. Haven't even tried the rest.
Tusk. I love horror and I appreciate original and gore and general fùcked up shīt but this was just kind of annoying like "hmmm what can we do to try to ride coattails of human centipede but reign in the gross factor?" A walrus.

An '80's Western which name I have thankfully forgotten, IIRC about the James brothers and the Younger brothers teaming up for a benk heist with much graphic violence. I soon tired of the bullets and bloodshed, and walked out -- my only escape from a film, ever.

In Germany we have a show named SchleFAZ (schlechteste Filme aller Zeiten); translated as worse movies ever. The movies get comments of two funny guys (in screen boxes), little sequences in with this guys talk about the s**t they saw as far, and such stuff. That movies on the show are really, really bad. They would perfectly fit here.
Those movies here that I watched, I watched until the end because I hate not having closure. Some were so predictably terrible that I never even bothered.
I literally stayed up until 3am on a work night to finish reading the Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child novel, "Relic." When I heard they'd made a movie out of it, I was thrilled--until I watched it. The authors didn't know any better at the time, so they ceded total creative control to the studio. The studio apparently "couldn't figure out who to cast" as Pendergast, the character in the novel who held all the disparate plot threads together--so they just cut him out entirely. Turned a very well-written book, that I stayed up way too late at night to finish, into a cheesy B-movie horror flick that made no sense. Apparently the studio wanted to turn another Preston/Child novel into a movie; I remember seeing trailers for it. The movie never got made--Preston and Child learned their lesson after Relic, and insisted on having more creative control over the film. The studio basically said, "Do it our way, or it doesn't get done." The studio was very surprised when Preston and Child...
Birdemic 2. Was on one of the Pluto TV channels one day, and while I hadn't seen Birdemic, I enjoy really bad horror movies (in part because they're too bad to be scary), so figured...worth a shot. Absolutely not. Scenes so repetitive, no pacing to speak of, omg the jellyfish scene. Actually, just go watch the jellyfish scene. It's the best one in the film, at least as far as I saw.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I know, I know. It's considered an iconic film. My husband watched it and said he'd like to watch it again, but with me. I gave up around 40 minutes in. I looked at him and went, "What's the point of the movie? And where the hell is this story going?"
It was a stage musical long before it became a movie, I suspect that most stage musicals don't have much plot going on.
Load More Replies... The Lighthouse. I actually did make it through the movie because a coworker really wanted me to, but it was gross. I know it was supposed to be deep and resonate with me, but I just couldn't get past the absolute grime I felt all over my flesh watching it. And there was animal cruelty in it. Which I told him off about at length the next time I saw him.
I think that was an actors acting movie pick, vs. a story played by actors that people just enjoy. As soon as someone gets into 'process' I'm struggling.

Inception. I went with a group of woman for a birthday party. I tried to stay and watch the entire movie. Really, I liked my friends. Had to leave. Slow. Boring. Did I mention boring? Give me some drecky super hero movie any day.
“Don’t Look Up”. It’s two hours of “oh look, Leo DiCaprio is smacking himself on the head and everyone is blurting out the word f#ck three times in every sentence, isn’t it just so quirky and edgy???” Um…no, it’s not. It’s pretentious and insufferable.
I‘m gonna get a lot of downvotes for this one but I‘ve never been able to finish „the godfather“. I think it’s just boring.
Scarface I’m sorry too hard to emphasize with such a horrible character. I know he gets gunned down in the end but still the journey to the ending is hard to watch also th f word is used too much so much so that I had enough and quit watching it.
For me it was parasite. I did finish it, but only because i kinda promised my mom id watch it, and it was a literal herculean effort. I get its one of those artsy films, but really there isnt any point. Its not really saying anything specific, its just a situation thats a bit weird that plays out. Not weird enough to be suspenseful or anything, just weird. I found it agressivelly boring.
New and old jumanji. Grease, a lot of new mexican productions, most of the horror movies. They're boring and predictable

Load More Replies... Not a movie, but a TV show. Glee. When I watched the first episode, it invoked a hysterical rage in me that I'd never had before. The characters are awful. The plot is nonexistent. If you watch it, you'll realise that murder is actually acceptable after all.

Arachnophobia. It's not a comedy, and my husband discovered he's a true arachnophobe about 40 minutes into it. We walked around for an hour to calm him down.
Is it supposed to be a comedy? It's the only horror movie that has even actually scared me. Awful.

I disagree. But I first watched it as a little kid. There may be some nostalgia in why I enjoy it. Same with Ace Ventura movies.
Load More Replies... The Green Card. The protagonist is not likeable. You know she's committing fraud just to get an apartment with a greenhouse. The guy just wants a green card. There is absolutely no chemistry between that imposter couple. The whole idea of having a greenhouse in your apartment gives me images of infestation problems. The whole movie is just frustrating to watch. You think it's going in one direction and then falls flat.
Tried to watch James Cameron's "Avatar" once. Found it boring and painfully predictable. I never could develop any empathy for those stupid Na'vi.
Artemis Fowl. It desecrated the books and you know, Butler is basically a slave and I think, Eastern -European in the books. Disney in a stroke of genius, make him black! And that is without mentioning the plot. (Kill the mum, combine books, change characters, Fowl Sr.)
God, yes. Eoin Colfer was literally under contract not to speak about how [crud] it was. Absolute train wreck, everything was wrong, and speaking as an Artemis Fowl superfan it viscerally offended me. Im getting angry just thinking about it lol

Okay, here go's. Forest Gump. I've been told ( vehemently!) that I should have toughed it out but a half hour or so used up my cringe quota for the year.
I have only seen it once and I strongly disliked it. Then was told by my (mercifully) now ex brother-in-law that I just didn't understand it. Dude, there was nothing to understand. A random guy gets lucky almost his whole life and falls into millions of dollars. It was too busy and unrealistic for me, no matter how much social commentary there was scattered throughout it.

I really wanted to like Queen of the damned as I was an Aliyah fan but it's not a good movie, I think it should have either been a trilogy or a series as they packed too much into one movie.

I love most of the main actors normally but I still think it was a pile of appallingly pretentious auteurist wnak.
It came on video around Thanksgiving that year and I understand it was the "entertainment" for some unknowing people post Thanksgiving meal. Yikes.

U. F. O. if I even remember the name correctly. Had it on vhs (bought dead cheap). The movie is such a boring slog that I tried to watch it on 3 different occasions and fell asleep Every. Single. Time.
Drop dead Fred, about an adult with an imaginary Friend. Was so bad we stopped watching after a few minutes.
5-Headed Shark Attack. Wasn’t even so stupid it was funny, it just had a bad plot, horrible actors and way too-many sequels and prequels.
Those are just all bad. On that note, when you watch those with a drinking game, they get hilarious half way through. 😅

I've only seen 6 of these on this list, and most I've never heard of. But I have to agree that Cats was the absolute worst! (I saw the broadway play a few decades ago and that was fantastic!) The only movie I feel was worse than Cats—and not on this list—was Melancholia.
Sometimes a bad movie can be fun. I remember watching "Creature Of The Black Lagoon" in a rep cinema packed with rowdy college students on spring break and really enjoying it. Then there are bad movies that are just plain bad. "A Good Man In Africa" - my partner was a Sean Connery fan at the time and even he stopped watching. "The Story Of O" - it was a midnight showing at a rep cinema and so many people walked out. Most boring artsy-porn film ever, I fell asleep.
Rocky Horror Picture Show. I saw it before it became the camp experience with newspaper, toilet paper, and all the crazy audience participation. I just didn't get it, and ran screaming from the theater. Later on, attended several midnight showings and loved every minute.
World War Z. The only reason I *didn't* walk out of the cinema was because it was raining and I didn't have a jacket with me. It's no wonder that Max Brooks insisted his name be removed from the final film.
I can't believe "Glitter" with Mariah Carey didn't make the cut! It is absolutely the worst movie and acting I have ever suffered through.
Robert Redford's 2013 movie All is Lost. I get it's meant to be all about the cinematography and effects, there's hardly any dialogue and we went into the movie knowing that, but I didn't need 45 minutes to figure out Robert Redford's character can work a boat. There was no build up before or explanation after the main events so we just didn't care about his character at all. Honestly it was just boring and I felt robbed at the end.
The only movie I ever walked out on was Natural Born Killers, despite liking everyone involved with that film, it was a violent mess. A better movie with the same vibe is Kalifornia.
I didn't quite walk out because I'd paid, but worst film I've seen at the cinema was Soloman Kane ( because there was nothing else on ) 1 movie I did turn off is Annie Hall. Not willing to call it a 'bad movie' seeing how much people seem to like it. I guess it's just not for me.
The Stupids. Not sure *why* my brother and i went to see that at a dollar theater. We walked out after half an hour. Still mad about my dollar.

Load More Replies... Velocipastor. Read the description, thought that it would be at least a funny B-movie. Nope. Not B, C, or even a D-movie. It's all the way down to J-movie. It's just that bad for acting/script work/special effects/pretty much everything. Never made it past 30 minutes of its 70 minute runtime.
The worst movie I've ever seen was Bruno. Not only was it a terrible movie in general, I made the colossal mistake of going to see it with my father. (For those who haven't seen it, it involves quite a bit of full-frontal male nudity, including scene breaks in which the camera zooms in on a dude's wildly swinging genitals.) I think the only reason we didn't leave the theater is that we were both trying to play it cool by pretending we weren't really there.
Velocipastor for me. I absolutely LOVE some B movies. This was a G movie. Not rated G, but that far down the alphabet in quality/acting/script/special effects/etc.
Anyone try watching the Bee Movie...? Yeah, just don't lol. I finished it, barely. Also can't bring myself to watch the Artemis Fowl movie knowing how bad they messed it up.
I went to see Last Tango In Paris at our student cinema. I was so bored after 40 minutes I went into the proj box and spent the rest of the time talking to the projectionist. Se7en. Also at the student cinema. There was so much background sound the dialogue was barely audible and the detectives never switched the lights on when searching a murder scene, they just flashed torches around and seemed to miss stuff simply because it was too dark. I got irritated and left after 30ish minutes. I just went up to the office and hung out or read a film magazine.
To be fair, Fincher is notorious for lowlighting all his movies, to the point it's now an industry joke. But yeah I hear ya

Two which I am certain were only crapped out to retain the movie rights: Riverworld and The Dark Tower. Blech.
I fell asleep during The Revenant, but that was more due to a long work shift, being awake for over 12 hours when I watched it, and biking to and from work. Also not a movie, but I stopped watching the anime Eden's Zero before season 1 was over. Same creator as Fairy Tail, and it felt like the creator copied his own homework a little too much with the two series despite the different settings of the worlds. Gave up at around episode 15.
There are three movies I've not been able to finish: I Heart Huccabees, John Carpenter's Vampires and Love & Friendship. Appalling. All very different and all very awful. As for the movies mentioned on this list I've only seen one. Haven't even tried the rest.
Tusk. I love horror and I appreciate original and gore and general fùcked up shīt but this was just kind of annoying like "hmmm what can we do to try to ride coattails of human centipede but reign in the gross factor?" A walrus.

An '80's Western which name I have thankfully forgotten, IIRC about the James brothers and the Younger brothers teaming up for a benk heist with much graphic violence. I soon tired of the bullets and bloodshed, and walked out -- my only escape from a film, ever.

Load More Replies... In Germany we have a show named SchleFAZ (schlechteste Filme aller Zeiten); translated as worse movies ever. The movies get comments of two funny guys (in screen boxes), little sequences in with this guys talk about the s**t they saw as far, and such stuff. That movies on the show are really, really bad. They would perfectly fit here.
Those movies here that I watched, I watched until the end because I hate not having closure. Some were so predictably terrible that I never even bothered.
I literally stayed up until 3am on a work night to finish reading the Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child novel, "Relic." When I heard they'd made a movie out of it, I was thrilled--until I watched it. The authors didn't know any better at the time, so they ceded total creative control to the studio. The studio apparently "couldn't figure out who to cast" as Pendergast, the character in the novel who held all the disparate plot threads together--so they just cut him out entirely. Turned a very well-written book, that I stayed up way too late at night to finish, into a cheesy B-movie horror flick that made no sense. Apparently the studio wanted to turn another Preston/Child novel into a movie; I remember seeing trailers for it. The movie never got made--Preston and Child learned their lesson after Relic, and insisted on having more creative control over the film. The studio basically said, "Do it our way, or it doesn't get done." The studio was very surprised when Preston and Child...
Birdemic 2. Was on one of the Pluto TV channels one day, and while I hadn't seen Birdemic, I enjoy really bad horror movies (in part because they're too bad to be scary), so figured...worth a shot. Absolutely not. Scenes so repetitive, no pacing to speak of, omg the jellyfish scene. Actually, just go watch the jellyfish scene. It's the best one in the film, at least as far as I saw.

It was a stage musical long before it became a movie, I suspect that most stage musicals don't have much plot going on.
Load More Replies... The Lighthouse. I actually did make it through the movie because a coworker really wanted me to, but it was gross. I know it was supposed to be deep and resonate with me, but I just couldn't get past the absolute grime I felt all over my flesh watching it. And there was animal cruelty in it. Which I told him off about at length the next time I saw him.
I think that was an actors acting movie pick, vs. a story played by actors that people just enjoy. As soon as someone gets into 'process' I'm struggling.
