Interview With Artist
Have you ever wondered what superheroes do when they are not trying to save the world? What do their daily lives look like and what are their daily routines? Most importantly, what are their daily struggles that they have to face as regular people?
Well, one Brazilian artist, Lucas Nascimento, better known as dragonarte to his 171k Instagram followers, thought of it and even created comics about it. In his quirky comics, he depicts the daily lives of our favorite superheroes and the funny struggles that they have to face as regular people. Scroll down for Bored Panda’s interview with the artist!

So, I see the mask getting thrown off with the mask and yet there is another mask on his head or, is that just his face?
The artist first posted a comic strip in 2013 and that’s when his artistic career began. When asked how he came up with the idea for these comics, the artist said: “I drew comics—long stories with text. But they didn’t have much reach (they weren’t very popular.) That’s when I decided to draw strips—short stories without dialogue with popular characters—so people from all over the world would understand the stories.”

The artist says that his comic strips feature stories about his favorite heroes such as Spiderman, Batman, and the Hulk. “I like to make characters from different worlds meet. For example, DC heroes and Marvel heroes.” It takes him about 3-4 hours or more to complete one story of his favorite superheroes.

His comics masterfully show the funny struggles of superheroes living regular human lives. For instance, when Spiderman takes off his mask and becomes Peter Parker—just a regular high school student from Queens—he needs his costume fixed, so this time, his aunt comes to his rescue. Or when Batman has nightmares after his never-ending fights with city villains, his faithful butler comes to read him bedtime stories. Even superheroes need to work out to keep in shape, so Batman regularly goes to the gym with his comrade Robin.

My son was watching Dragon ball super, and I'm an old Dragon ball z fan. He asked me where him I came from etc, I explained his planet got destroyed and he was sent to earth in a capsule. He goes "ah, just like superman" (I'd never thought about it)

Yes. The author is from Brazil, and in many countries in South America, the showers have an electrical heating device placed in the shower head, like the model in this comic. I came across those during a trip in Bolivia. I know, sounds crazy dangerous... but i'm still alive to talk about it :-)

Hm, well, Superman has actually had a xenomorph inside him. Once he got his powers back, the baby xenomorph chest burster died and Supes spat it out. See Superman/Aliens co-published by DC and Dark Horse from 1995.
