That's understandable. That's part of how I became vegetarian and eventually vegan. It actually makes eating and cooking way more fun and interesting. And it's really not hard. And you'll feel great! I suggest trying it for a month. You'll never want to go back.

you realize they are separated quickly for their mental health right? if they get attached to each other, it hurts them way more to split them up. It doesn't really make sense to stop eating meat because its "cruel". When you eat an orange, its alive, it knows you are eating it. When you cut an oinion, it releases gasses to try to defend itself. Plants don't want to be eaten, animals don't either. I think the goal is more like... we should limit suffering if we can. But there is no way we can prevent it, we cannot only eat salt for the rest of our lives.
