If there's one thing humans excel at, it's creating unnecessary problems for each other. And no, you don't need to look at parliament or the stock exchange to find some vile behavior—just head down the street to the places where regular people eat and shop. Chances are, you'll still see a staggering level of entitlement and a lack of common decency.
TikTok users @janemoonveil and @pey.attenti0n have tapped into this problem by asking service workers to share their absolute worst customer encounters. The responses are a mix of horror and comedy, showcasing tantrums over expired coupons and bizarre requests nobody could ever fulfill.

Everyone needs to be careful of others BUT as women especially bartenders at night...theres a lot of cautionary measures you learn to start making. Always be on guard as to why the man is asking. Where do i live? Heart of the city. (I dont) do you live alone? No you live with your dad and 4 twenty something brothers. What do you drive? You dont...your husband or dad picks you up bc you only have 1 car. When you get to your car, you glance in the backseat before getting in then you lock that door IMMEDIATELY and You keep an eye out on cars behind you on the way home. You go the gas station or well lit public area with others until they are gone if someones made a turn too many with you. I follow all these rules and had no idea until after his 3rd trip to my state that i was being watched at work, 9 months pregnant by a pilot from across the country whod fly in if he thought i was at work. The 4th time he called 1st and thats when we realized the extent and put it end to it.
The sad reality is that these people are everywhere. A recent survey of 500 U.S. workers in retail, hospitality, and food service found that nearly three-quarters (72%) deal with rude or aggressive customers on a daily or weekly basis.
Only 1% said they hadn't faced this at all in the past year.
There are so many things that could've been. How creepy. So glad she was nice
Workers say bad customer behavior has gotten worse, too: 25% noticed a sharp increase over the past year.
The main reasons, according to them, have been rising prices (81%), too few staff on duty (79%), and company policies that leave customers feeling they can demand whatever they want (75%).
I'd shout to a colleague to ask them to help, "THIS MAN WANTS A PINK LOCK, CAN YOU HELP HIM JAMES?"
Many workers feel unprepared to handle these situations. More than half admit they worry about how to calm down escalating conflicts (53%) or say they often lack the information they need when things get heated (52%).
While some receive short training sessions when they’re first hired, most don’t get ongoing practice or refresher courses.
On top of that, about a third (34%) report that customers’ constantly shifting expectations are adding to their stress and burnout. More than one in five (22%) fear they simply can’t keep up with what customers want.
"This is a police matter still under adjudication and I'm not allowed to tell you. I can call the DA and you can ask him."
Never work in small family-owned restaurants. Let the family-members do it. After all, it's theirs. Also, never ends well.
Many customer service workers also feel they're not compensated enough for their responsibilities. One Salesforce survey found that:
- 71% have thought about quitting their job in the last six months;
- And 69% are considering leaving customer service altogether.
With resignations being a common occurrence in the industry, 86% of respondents said they need more from their company in order to stay.
Please tell me you told the manager, other co-workers, that you called family, friends, and the police, and had someone walk you to your car!
According to the survey, the top challenges service workers report are:
- Burnout – 76%
- Pressure to keep customers happy – 66%
- Few opportunities to grow or develop skills – 64%
- Lack of support from management – 60%
- Outdated technology is making work harder – 56%
This one is weird but it's at least the first harmless one I've read so far
I try to purr to my cat, because it's her language. To humans ... are they even worth it?
Oh, yeah, but what if you happen to purr "we're out of your favorite food" or "it's time for a bath" :)

nobody ever mentioned a man in this, only you did. also, comparing meowing and barking at animals to actual sexual a*****t is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. go take your fragile little male ego and shove it, Travis.

Managers are often stuck in the middle, trying to keep customers satisfied while also preventing their teams from leaving through the back door.
Their biggest issues are:
- Employee burnout – 84%
- Lack of flexibility – 73%
- Difficulties ensuring customer satisfaction – 73%
- Problems guaranteeing the health and safety of employees – 71%
- Accessing career development opportunities – 69%
Probably carries a vial of his ashes? A little weird but maybe not horrible.
Theres been times ive had to verbally force construction crews the rest of the way into my restaurant bc they wanted to place/eat their orders in the foyer, parking lot or work vehicles to avoid dirtying my floors. Those are the people i do may very best to hook up, like making sure i have them by the air conditioner, getting them all to-go drinks when their finished, maybe cover a dessert for them to share. Theres a******s in the world BUT most people are unbelievably kind and expecting to eat in a crowed, dirty truck after youve been busting yo b*m in the heat all day is so selfless. I gotta broom! Bring them dirty boots in here!
Employers are trying to make life easier for workers and customers by investing in:
- On-demand training (79%) — helping workers learn skills when and where they need them.
- Technology that shows the full history of a customer's relationship with the company (77%) — from past purchases to previous support conversations.
- Customer self-service options (76%) — giving people the ability to solve simple issues on their own.
- Chat and messaging with colleagues and other internal teams (75%) — so service workers can get quick answers behind the scenes.
- Chat and messaging with customers (74%) — to meet people where they are.
- Video call capabilities (70%) — for situations where face-to-face interaction matters.
- Automated ticket or information collection before an interaction (68%) — cutting down the time workers spend on repetitive data entry.
- Call-back options (67%) — letting customers choose not to wait on hold.
But it's worth asking: are these really the solutions that will fix the core problems workers say they face, such as burnout and low pay?
Go to the restroom and dry off with a dryer , or go home. Not continue to drip p*SS all over the floors
Be kind, people. Give OP the benefit of any doubt you may feel. Would you want this happening to *your* daughters?
Can you do that? On our bills it states that it's legal tender for all debts.
Umm 😳 I love HiC orange drink from McDonald's BUT I won't shoot anyone or anything if I get the wrong size drink.
🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I'm out and I'm NOT cleaning that. Call a hazmat team to do it!
Now THAT'S Darwinism. "How'd you die Greg?" Well, I really wanted a taco, and I forgot to put my car in park..."
Blake livelys cat robbed me at gunpoint in LA, three times. This is totally true because nobody likes her and I said it out loud.
Mmmm this one has a smell about it. How would OP be able to magically find and contact said wife?
When hands free phone mics came out about 15 years ago, I always thought people in public were talking loudly to themselves were mentally ill and would avoid sitting near them. Now people talking loudly on speakerphone to whoever drive me up the wall
Was he in a facility that was somehow getting to a phone? Or was he somehow random whacko? Some of the mental hospitals here in NC don't have the best ratings or security. There's a facility in Wake Co that teenagers keep escaping from.
Astroglide. " The best personal lubricants for every need" apparently, I had to google it.
Years ago, South Florida DMV, lines were insane as usual and someone didn't want to lose they're super in line so pulled down there pants any took a dump. Arrested and still lost place in line lol
I worked at sams club and was stationed at the self checkout. A woman and her friend ( both black women)came through and tried to pay with her ebt card, but it kept getting declined. I tried to help her out but there isn't really anything I can do for her. I asked her if maybe her balance was less than the total. I asked if she wanted to call and check her balance so she could split the payment or remove some items. She got upset with me and left. But not before complaining to my manager ( who also happened to be a black woman) that I was racist and looked down on people who use food stamps. I was shocked. I mean I was on food stamps myself and even if i wasnt i wouldnt judge anyone for needing assistance, especially with the prices being so high. My manager didn't take it seriously thank goodness. She knew me and knew it was nonsense.
"I certainly won't. Not with the huge tip you're planning to leave, right?"
"As a matter of principle, madam, I refuse to join any group that accepts people like me."
Jesus f*****g Christ, a "pew-pew"? (Edit: I know what a "pew-pew" is- It's a way to say "gun" on social media now that censorship has gone wild and saying "gun" will get your video demonetized/taken down. I think it's absolutely stupid and childish.)
You should have called the police to file a claim for serial a***e & harassment & a*****t on a minor.if you're under 18. I would also report it to corporate if it's a chain place.
Why would they charged her for the bomb squad if she had nothing to do with the robbbing. She is the one who called the cops.
I'm so glad I don't work with the public anymore. I would've snapped by now.
Then wait to read these until the day after when they are generally pared down to about 50.
Load More Replies...This long haul truck driver used to come into my gas station and tell me he was going to kidnap me and no one would ever find me and his buddies at the FBI would help make sure I was never found. I started hanging out in the freezer every time I saw him coming.
One night a guy who should have never been served? He was very obviously very drunk. He threw a chair across the room. I managed to get him out of the pub... It was by being incredibly polite. "I need you to leave because you've just thrown a chair across the room". I'm not exactly tall and the police asked me to describe him, how tall he was, what he looked like as soon as they came. I described him as being... I said, "I only came to his nipples"... I've said some pretty daft things in my life but to describe someone as "n****e height"??? 😄
Or, hear me out, English is not their native language.
