Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds brought a smile to his fans’ faces with a cheeky PSA video about the coronavirus. He told us to practice social distancing, wash our hands, and stay at home. While at the same time he gently mocked celebrities.

“In times of crisis, I think we all know it’s the celebrities that we count on most. They’re the ones who are gonna get us through this,” 43-year old Reynolds said. Before joking: “Right after healthcare workers, first responders, people working essential services, ping-pong players, mannequins, childhood imaginary friends, like 400 other types of people.”

Reynolds’ video was viewed more than 4.4 million times on Instagram and the actor even nudged fellow actor Seth Rogen and musician Steven Page to film short clips of their own and help spread the word.

It was Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who asked Reynolds to help spread the word about staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.

Previously, Trudeau urged Canadians to follow the rules and to stay at home. “You all think you’re invincible. You’re not. Enough is enough,” he addressed those people who are still flouting the rules. Trudeau pointed out that listening to government directives is now the “duty” of all Canadian citizens. “And staying home is your way to serve.”

At the time of writing, there were more than 2,790 people infected with the coronavirus in Canada.

If you’re feeling sad, dear Pandas, just remember Reynolds’ words: “We are going to get through this thing.” I believe him and so should you.
