"How is that ableism??" You're KIDDING right? Where, exactly, do You think the idea came from? It's CERTAINLY not the first you've heard of societies where "imperfect" at birth children were unwanted??? Even KILLED?? TODAY preemies have a greater chance of survival. THEN, they had a GREAT chance of DEFORMATION and DISABILITY. Un-ABLE to survive in most cases, and in most cases deliberately allowed to die because they typically wouldn't be ABLE to live "normally" IF they survived. The mindset that the WEAK and vulnerable aren't "DESERVING" of aid, because they're a BURDEN or can't "pull their weight". Stupid, misogynistic, superstitious, "only the strong" and "breeding the best genes" --a practice that murica DEFINITELY "embraced" for a few hundred years.
