Society puts pressure on everyone: most are expected to be someone, do something and whatever else. But that does not mean that those expectations are valid, or if the pressure is really necessary. Who knows, perhaps we're forced to chase after goals that don't really reflect our true self, or even worse, we can lose our true selves whilst chasing them.

If that's the case, perhaps we need to do the opposite It's very important to continually deprogram ourselves from things that are not true, and in some cases even harmful. Therefore we need to find ways to heal ourselves from the harm that modern life may cause.

Which is why it's great to have artists like Lainey Molnar, who help others to do exactly that. She has a mission to point out all of the wrong and right things of what it means to be a woman at this day and age, and illustrates these things in a very accurate and aesthetic way. In her comics, she explores the topic of femininity, double standards, societal pressures, expectations, and various other problems that modern independent women face every day.

I'm tired of this privileged take on abortion because it really misses the most urgent parts about why we need abortion rights. The most important one missing is that bans on abortions results in women who have miscarriages and still births being accused of intentionally killing the fetus and being charged with murder (as what happens in El Salvador). But these women don't talk about it beyond just being their body and choice and forced child birth because they aren't the type of poor, vulnerable woman who would be victimized by the American legal system. They don't talk about how denying women abortions means extreme restrictions (if any exceptions are made at all) for circumstances such as the mother's life being in danger. We need to stop framing abortion as a choice. It's not a choice. It's a medical necessity that saves lives. Privileged people framing it entirely as a choice is putting vulnerable people in danger.

And P.S. It should be noted that the ONLY countries with such strict, complete abortion bans are Catholic nations and it's the Catholic justices, who were chosen because of their Catholic views on abortion, who are putting abortion rights in danger. Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett are all Catholics. Sonia Sotomayor is the only Catholic justice who isn't a Conservative. And to put things into perspective, JFK and Joe Biden are the only Catholics to ever be President. Why did Trump make his second and third picks Catholics? Because Catholics are the worst anti-abortion extremists.

And here in the US, the dominoes are beginning to fall. One state (Ohio) is trying to make IUD's and plan B illegal. In another state, Republicans are pushing to make the use of condoms illegal. The religious conservatives have lost their goddamn minds.

You wanna force women to give birth? Then you MUST see what this leads to. This happened before in an European country, a few decades ago. Google and watch a short documentary called "Children of the Decree" (it's on youtube). It's in English. I bet you'll love it.

In this day and age when PREVENTING pregnancy is so easy and affordable there's no excuse to having an abortion except rape. Everything else is just women and men taking no responsibility.

It's traumatizing to be fed the narrative that a young woman, or couple for that matter, is forced with two options: your life is over and will be terrible if you have a child (so young, out of wedlock, right now, whatever they are told), or you have to have an abortion. What about supporting new mothers in this situation so they can feel some comfort and love from society and those around them should they chose to parent? Support through making resources available: housing, food, clothing and community could change our world's future through our children. (Some adoption agencies provide this.) How about a future without fear of unplanned pregnancies?!

Abortion is murder, there is no way to spin it, call it, or justify it. If you have an abortion, you have intentionally murdered your child. You are a MURDERER. It's called maternal filicide. And may God have mercy on your Soul.

The pro-lifers do not force you to have children. But they advocate for the people already conceived. In sex. Once a sperm cell hits an egg, BAM there is a child, one that is there wirhout any faults of its own.If you don't want children DO NOT HAVE SEX!! Sex is the bodily function for reproduction. And one does not need to wonder why she is pregnant when sexually active. Pro-lifers d not force you to have sex. We don't want you to create human beings only for them to be hated and killed. Grow up you feminists! We want that the children that already exit (unborn women, for example) to have a shot at life. You had a shot at life. You would not exist had your mother aborted you. So stop f*****g and screwing around if you do not want to give birth.

European - Austrian - here. Especially that last one is not understandable to us. Here you get paid parental leave, it is forbidden to fire a pregnant woman from her job, monthly government support for the child, etc., and of course universal healthcare, so giving birth an pediatricians don‘t cost a dime. And still people abort for elective reasons. Go figure. I am NOT talking about medical and mental health reasons (e.g. rape victims). I am very bothered by terminating a life when it is just for convenience. If both man and woman are not willing to carry the potential consequences of their actions, they should not do the action. Meaning: if you are not willing to risk a pregnancy, then don‘t have penetrative vaginal sex. And yes: please do create a society in which people have work-life balance and can raise kids.

It's not "just for convenience". Having a child changes your entire life. Even if it's great to have parental leave, health care and all that but it's still not enough to force someone to give birth. It could destroy the woman in many ways. Both physically (as- she could die or have permanent damage) and socially (work, life, etc). I assume most will be single moms = very limited support. You have to find suitable childcare so you can't have just any job (even if childcare is affordable, thankfully, most require a day job without working nights, evenings and weekends), monthly government support is not nearly enough to cover all costs of having a child - even with free healthcare etc. And all of that are just practical issues. It's also the fact that maybe she doesn't want to be a mother. At all. Is that really fair to the child? Both the woman and child are losing in that situation. And no, abstinence isn't a realistic solution - ever. And birth control do fail. We need abortions.

How is allowing murder a solution to the problem? How can people justify the murder of an innocent human being? For those of you about to downvote me, please instead explain any scenario that makes killing a baby okay.

*sigh* No 👏 one 👏 is 👏 killing 👏 babies. And any scenario, okay let's play. Let's say I'm pregnant and I have a condition that would kill me if I carry the pregnancy to term. Why should I be forced to die? What if a 15 year old girl is raped? Should she be forced to give birth? What about the woman in an abusive relationship that wants to escape? Should she be forced to give birth to her abusers child and then have to live with the fact that child was born out of abuse and not love?

What's great about these illustrations is that their tone isn't restricted to criticism and negative stuff. While she criticizes, which is an important and a difficult task in itself, she also promotes body positivity and mental wellbeing. She kindly reminds us not to follow norms which don't suit your natural needs, she reminds us that we're all beautiful and normal in our own special way. No size is wrong, no height is wrong, and no habit is disgusting. All of it is you, and you should accept that first and foremost. And if the other's can't accept that, we'll, sucks to be them.

Though the expectations and the pressure for women in our society may sometimes feel like they're crushing you, don't give up, girls. Just remember, diamonds are made under pressure. They're also a woman's best friend. This might be that extra bit of inspiration you may have wanted to hear to get out there and take over the world. Tread on, women!

Never. My therapist said "your progress is not lost just because you had a bad moment". Better to let it out rather than let it eat you up from the inside. It's just a bump in the road, not the end.
