LGBT+ lives and issues are something very important to me for various reasons. So I do what I do best about it: drawing it.
With this, I want to show that it's all okay, that no one is abnormal and that people are not alone.
Some of these are also a part of my mental health drawings, that's also a very important part of my life. You maybe already saw a couple of them in a previous article.

I hate those labels they are just basis for stereotypes and hate and stuff like that
I think that the labels are sometimes helpful to people trying to figure out their sexuality/gender/ other identity and i know it really helped me when i was questioning and then came out as bi and a demigirl. I dont think of them as labels, more like names. You get to choose your name if you like, and be proud of it. They are not for stereotypes please don’t say that, you are basically hating on the LGBTQIIAAPP+ community
Load More Replies...The issue here is that they are looking outside of themselves for the answer as to what is inside of them.
I see...where you got your medical degree? A great number of people are born intersex, and imposing a binary expression on them at birth has harmed personal friends. There are genuine issues to discuss that require nuance.
Load More Replies...It’s amazing how much changed when I, a female, cut my hair short. It’s silly. I’m still me, but with air conditioning for my noggin.
Just because you haven't witnessed discrimination/violence over how people dress isn't an indication that it's a non-issue. "Gay panic" is still a legal defense in some US states.
Load More Replies...Churros always help. Especially dipped in hot chocolate. W/ marshmallows on the side and-
I feel this. I do identify as a woman, but I don't identify as feminine. Not that I'm really into labels, but if I had to describe the way I feel, that would be it. I have no desire to change the shape of my body (except for those extra pounds haha) but I dress completely "masculine" (even though clothes aren't alive, and therefore really don't have a gender right?) and I keep a pretty typical men's hairstyle.
me as well. I dress in mens not because I identify as one. I don't wear anything feminine because I just don't like them. that should have been an adequate reason, right?
Load More Replies...Oh yes! This is a big one. They treat women as though we're all the same even though we're individual human beings. Although did the girl on the cover just HAVE to have blonde hair. I feel like that's perpetuating ridiculous untrue stereotypes as well. Ugh
I identify as a girl. But I don't wear nail polish or dresses or jewelry. I am not fond of the color pink and I have friends who are boys who are not boyfriends of mine. I play video games and do not wear makeup. I do not obsess over my weight or size of my breasts. That doesn't mean I'm not a girl.
No, it just means you're not their target audiance. Since this is clearly a website they either want to sell a product (or products) or ad space.
Load More Replies...Things will get better, even tho the worst things happen to the best people things will get better
It won't always get better, and it's true things could always be worse, but it CAN get better if your willing to WORK for it, if your unhappy then go one step at a time until you are happy. Doesn't matter if everyone is ahead of you. Go at you own pace to MAKE your own happiness.
These are true, but first you have to make yourself a person that you love. You're beautiful the way you are, but maybe it's just not right. There are many forms of beautiful and the one you are might not be your fit. Be who you are but don't be scared to make yourself better.
I think you said that really well and I think that those comments can be good but also harmful, and it depends on the situation and person.
Load More Replies...Even those of us who are in the 'right' body have trouble with that :(
I believe that these comments are very unnecessary. I mean if you didn't know that they were trans, that would be fine, as long as you stopped if they spoke up or requested you to. But if you know that someone is trans, well, that in itself is a very hard process both mentally and physically to go through. As I was saying if you know that someone is trans I think that you would be smart enough to refrain from those types of comments.
To be honest, I'm not trans yet I still find those comments harmful. Loving yourself can be really hard and those comments do nothing to help, instead they make a person feel like they're doing something wrong or not trying hard enough. :(
Load More Replies...I do not understand why this is such a huge deal..... penis... vagina.... ovaries... testes..... be gay, be lesbian, love whomever you chose, not my life & I don't give a s**t but for f***s sake.... PENIS OR VAGINA it's not that f*****g difficult. Women shows signs of cardiac arrest WAY differently than men.... gonna need a real genetic answer for that question if you're dying.... The entirety of existence on this planet continues because male mates with female... even spiders. Need one of each gender to continue a species etc.... it's not a religious thing,,,, its a fact . Now the whole rest of the world is supposed to conform to this b******t. Use your proper pronouns and blah blah blah. I want equality. I want people to love and be loved. and to be able to love whom they chose but some of this is sooooo dramatic!
Oh yes. The dreaded "gender" question. Personally, I can not relate, but I feel bad for those who torture themselves over this. I still see no point in asking gender. (I mean sometimes it might be necessary, but it depends on the situation). However, I have seen some websites/surveys put an "other" or "prefer not to say" option as well as "male" and "female" options. I believe that more websites/surveys should include that option for our non-binary etc. friends.
This always bothers me, always put a space to type what you identify as!!
Isn't there usually an "other" to check ? Not to spark a debate, but there is such a thing as hermaphrodites; most documents of this type I've seen the past 10 years have 3 choices.
that's right, chase away dem shadows with your light 'cuz you're a STAR!!
Why do people have to pick a side? I think everyone's equal and that's that. F-ck the haters
Load More Replies...Every trans/queer/other I've talked to has had to be the ambassador/educator for the heteronormative crowd before. I get it... people generally want to do good and learn. And it can be exhausting to always be the ambassador/educator.
Welcome to the wonderful world of minorities, where even good intentioned peeps can be exhausting :-)
Load More Replies...they feel they aren't comfortable and want to change (in a good way)so they feel more comfortable with who they are
Load More Replies...My friend was still occasionally called her dead name by her parents (accidentally), it's not that they didn't accept her, it's just that they had called her something else for SO long.
Load More Replies...I get so confused sometimes when my friends yell "Lukas!!!" because I've only just started to realize who I am at the beginning of the school year and I'd just met them, so they don't know me as anything else. One in particular asked me why I didn't turn when she yelled my name and I honestly had to tell her that I wasn't used to responding to it yet. I'll also say "yes?" when they say my deadname without realizing we have 2 other people by that name in our class/friend group and they don't know me by that name. I also live in fear of them seeing me outside of school with my parents and them calling me Lukas, and me having to explain it to my parents (who are SUPER unaccepting).
meh, kids. As a child I thought LGBT were gross, then I realized I was one. XD
I grew up not knowing any of this and then one day I'm like "ooh! (Person) has 2 dads!
Load More Replies...Obviously you're a pirate. Perhaps a butt pirate. Though we sh'aal never know!
Why do we still need to have labels for people? I do not define my sexuality by any label. I have enjoyed sexual and emotional relationships with people of various genders and sexualities. How you identify your gender or sexuality shouldn't define you as a person. As society slowly moves towards equality for all (I know there is still a very long way to go) what difference does it make what you identify as? Why can't we just simply identify as Human? Unfortunately too many things haven't changed. If I start dating a woman, people identify me as straight and treat me as such, if I date a man they identify me as gay and treat me as such and if I date someone who doesn't conform to either gender, I am often just treated as some sort of freak. Who I am attracted to is determined by my sexuality, my sexuality should not be defined by who I am attracted to.
Hey, thanks everyone for the nice messages ! I love reading them but because of the intolerant as##, I will try to preserve myself and avoid the comments. (I also don't understand why we went from "popular" to 0 again. I hope that's not some sort of censorship from these people.)
I think the haters at this point have to realize that hating isn't going to change anything. They're not going to change a person who's decided they're part of the community. In fact, it makes the lgbt individual stronger, because they feel you are toxic and sever their ties with you. So in the end, the hater loses a friend / family member and fails to do anything but make that person unhappy
I wish people could mind their own damn business and let people live the life they want. Be yourself, love yourself, be unique until you're too different and then everyone attacks you. THAT'S STUPID. My pansexual a*s isn't gonna destroy the world, take your jobs or spread like a disease and wipe out everything. why complain that i'm different when you can say at least you're not pregnant at 13, addicted to alcohol, doing drugs or a murderer. If it's not hurting anyone than it isn't a problem. Stop going against who people love and who they want to be and start worrying about global warming, helping the homeless or REAL PROBLEMS. Thank you.
I'm the type a person who loves all the dogs !
