I think that the labels are sometimes helpful to people trying to figure out their sexuality/gender/ other identity and i know it really helped me when i was questioning and then came out as bi and a demigirl. I dont think of them as labels, more like names. You get to choose your name if you like, and be proud of it. They are not for stereotypes please don’t say that, you are basically hating on the LGBTQIIAAPP+ community

Just because you haven't witnessed discrimination/violence over how people dress isn't an indication that it's a non-issue. "Gay panic" is still a legal defense in some US states.

That's good for you, but there are people who don't feel like either. They are non-binary people. That's the point of this particular comic strip.

Some people don’t like being the gender that they were assigned at birth. It’s great to like being one specific gender and it’s great to be non-binary, trans, etc.

me as well. I dress in mens not because I identify as one. I don't wear anything feminine because I just don't like them. that should have been an adequate reason, right?

'Woman' is a biological state 'feminine' is a matter of fashion. Personnaly, I started being fed up with that in my 20s and by now (nearly 40) I have no more fox to give :-) (Besides, men's clothing always have the longer coats, trousers with pockets, etc.)

I think you said that really well and I think that those comments can be good but also harmful, and it depends on the situation and person.

To be honest, I'm not trans yet I still find those comments harmful. Loving yourself can be really hard and those comments do nothing to help, instead they make a person feel like they're doing something wrong or not trying hard enough. :(

what about those born with both a penis and a vagina?

this just sounds lke an exuse to complain about trans people, they know what they are born as and what they need to tell their docters and medical facilities, they just don't want to live being someone they feel they aren't

if it's on a medical form, sure. From a medical perspective though, what if you have both or neither? It doesn't start off with everyone being immediately sensitive, just so you know. :) And not everyone who identifies as neutral disregards the genders of male or female. I think they're all legit genders. It depends on if they're asking: Gender, or sex? Sex are the bits you have. Gender is who you are.

CR82: for a person that "doesn't give a s**t" you seem very agitated. Just let it go. People have different needs and concerns, you don't have to agree or even understand everyone, but you still must respect them and not force your views on them. Oh, and genetically? It's possible for humans to be genetically XX males, XY females, not to mention other variations like multiple chromosomes of one type or even lack of second chromosome (so single X or Y). It's really not as simple as you think it is.

This is a vast oversimplification. *genetically* not everyone fits into a binary, nor has binary expression of gender. This is why we NEED this discussion.

Totally agree. You can pump your body full of whatever hormones or other junk you want, but that doesn't change your natural biological state or how your biology effects your response to things like heart attacks. You can identify as whatever you want, but if you want proper medical treatment you need to be able to tell people what you were born as. It's like people who change their look with plastic surgery and expect their kids to look like their new selves. That's not how nature works. Love who you wanna love, feel how you wanna feel, call yourself whatever you call yourself, but stop preaching that gender is a social construct and then trying to switch over to a different one. If you want to mutilate yourself to switch, CLEARLY there's a difference.

I emphatically agree. There are two genders. Everything else are populist sociological 'clubs' that people join to render onto themselves comfort, familiarity and purpose - and arguably in some cases are inching toward mental illness and depersonalisation

I understand your emotions, but for example. I started off being very non-sensitive and tolerant about people asking about my ethnicity. But over time, people started to ask it over and over, and the ones that did ask became more pushy about it. Should it be their business? That depends... are they a doctor?
