Do you think you have the weirdest cat in the world? It turns out most people do, and they’re both right and wrong. Namely, cats’ behaviors, however strange they may seem, are pretty similar no matter where you go. Someone on Twitter asked people to share the weird things their cats do, and you can probably guess that the answers involve a lot of theft, knocking things over, turning on faucets, and staring ominously.

Take a look at some of the mischief and destruction other people’s silly cats get up to and comment with your own below!

Why are our adorable cats so fascinated with all the fixtures in the bathroom? Vets suggest that this might come from their wild instincts—still water in the great outdoors isn’t so fresh, and drinking from a bowl in a corner or up against a wall might feel like a vulnerable position. The flowing water that comes out of the sink or shower is simply more appealing for both of those reasons. There’s no wild explanation for why these weird cats like to use sinks as beds, but a sink is perfectly cat-sized and the porcelain might feel fresh and cool in hot weather.

If your pet cat is using inappropriate places as a toilet, though, there are several explanations. The first thing to try is always to take them to the vet for urine and blood analysis, because they could be acting out to show that they don't feel well.

If they have a clean bill of health, the problem could be that the litter box is not clean enough (in addition to frequent scooping, the box itself should be scrubbed out once a week,) in an inconvenient place (upstairs or downstairs, in a room that the cat finds unpleasant, or near their food,) or too small. If you have more than one cute cat, there could be a bullying situation preventing one from using the litter box, in which case the solution is to provide more boxes.

My cat's on a tablespoon of canned pumpkin every day to keep his fibre up (vet prescribed! but from the grocery store). Luckily he loves it and happily licks the spoon clean!

My ginger boy begs - at full volume - for avocado. He has raided the trash to lick clean a scooped half skin if he felt I didn't give him enough. Weirdo. Good to know other kitty folk like odd fruit/veggie items. I thought we were alone! ;>)

One of my cats loves fruit- you cannot eat an apple in peace at my house (she also likes pears, plums, kiwis, peaches, cherries, etc). Also, my other cat likes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...

My cat Baz likes potato chips and melted butter (not at the same time). He’ll also eat Chinese food. I’m always careful to remove any onions or other stuff he shouldn’t have. I used to have a cat named Lucy (RIP) who loved ice cream and cake (together or separately). Don’t worry, these are only once in a while treats, and I only give them a spoonful. On the other hand, anything food-flavored is my dog Scruffy’s favorite.

Even carnivores can benefit from some fruits & veggies in their diet. In the wild, they would be eating the intestines of their prey, which would have those things in them. So I think it's actually pretty normal. Also, if your cat is going crazy over bread- it's apparently the yeast they're after. They love the smell and the taste of yeast.

My vet told me to feed my dog broccoli to help either her kidneys or liver (she had a lot of problems and it's three years ago) so your cat is probably eating something that is good for her.

There are a lot of cats with very particular food tastes that don't immediately make sense and they aren't like dogs or goats that eat anything their given, so there must be some logic. Is It worth professional studying? I sometimes wonder if there's something very worthwhile in understanding it.

I used to have a cat that loved lettuce. She'd get so mad if you fooled her with cabbage. I had another that loved pumpkin guts. She would climb into the pumpkin if I didn't pull the guts out fast enough. I now have one that loves broccoli. Cats are steange.

That's actually a condition called hyperesthesia. In some cats it's just cute, but in ones like mine, he'll catch his tail and bite it enough to draw blood if he doesn't get his medication. It's due to a nerve disorder where he has tiny seizures resulting in twitching on his back and skin. To him it feels like someone is poking him, then he turns around and sees his tail and figures it's his F-ING TAIL! MUST KILL TAIL! It's sometimes called 'rippling skin syndrome' because that's what it looks like before he tries to catch his tail. Easily treatable with meds that don't have a long term negative effect. This has been my PSA for the day
