We're all guilty of lying from time to time for our own personal gain. And of course, no one's here to judge you, after all, it's a dog eat dog world so everyone deserves to do a little something to help themselves. But when you think about it, how do you separate an innocent white lie and legit nasty lie? Well, this series of tweets about people lying for personal gain will show you how far people will go in order to get what they want, and honestly, you can't really blame them, some even managed to get married to the love of their life just by fudging the truth a bit.

Everyone has to start somewhere. You cannot enter a job, where they want three years of experience, without ever being able to get that experience. Sometimes you have to fake. At least you read some books and knew what you were doing.

Well, in a way I can understand it. It is not the nicest thing to do, but living on the streets, especially as a kid, must be very hard. In the end, it was "only" 10 bucks on each of them. They might have survived it.

Whixh country does have a curfew for children? Isn't that the choice of the parents?

Nikki D

Nope, my not so small town had a 9pm curfew for weeknights and 11pm weekends for anyone under 16, unattended, and just messing around. If you were doing something like sports, church, clubs, it was waived. But no walking around aimlessly. I remember the cops following us home when we walked to the store at midnight to get birthday stuff for someone, we had just remembered. (South Central Kansas, USA.)

Do you live in the town from Footloose? Are you allowed to dance? This is important.

What the actual fuck. You're not allowed just to EXIST outside of your house after a certain time? W. T. A. F. Really I can't comprehend. I can't process that thought. It's beyond my imagination.

Chicago burbs all have a curfew...1130 on weekends. 1030 weekdays.

I was arrested for curfew in my hometown of Simi Valley, CA when I was 17 years old. When the cops came to our table (outside of a Starbucks in a strip mall, of which we had each purchased a beverage) and demanded to know our ages, everyone lied and said they were 18. Except for me. Cause I thought it was stupid I couldn't drink my Starbucks while I waited for my dad to pick me up. Well... they decided to handcuff me in front of everyone and put me in the back of their car. #notallheroeswearcapes

Here it's eleven I think. It's been over twenty years since it affected me. It is ok if your parents know where you are though.

Pretty much everywhere I've lived in western pa has had a 10pm curfew for anyone under the age of 18 unless they had a guardian with them

why not

one town i lived in turned out the street lights at 10:00. reason being all the stores were closed, so no one needed to be out that late. we would say at 10: 00 they roll up the sidewalks and turn out the lights.

Different towns in the US do. My hometown does not my current city.

Growing up, our medium sized Cleveland, Ohio suburb, had a 11pm curfew for minors. If you were 18 or older no curfew. Pretty common in the US.

It’s easier to enforce in small towns, not just by police but also by people typically knowing each other or knowing the families.

That reminds me of this 6 year old kid in our neighborhood. He saw a banana and said he didn't know what it was, so we let him eat one. It turned out he didn't know what any fruit was so we were always giving him some. We thought we were doing him a huge favor. Got talking to his mom one day who laughed and said he would say anything to get food and he was familiar with all kinds of fruit! We were so taken for a ride!
