‘Awful Everything’ Shames The World’s Worst People, And Here’s 50 Of Their Most Hated Ones (New Pics)
We can all agree that usually, we work on the content to brighten up your day and to cheer you up at the time you need it, dear Pandas. However, this time, we would like to share with you some posts curated by the 'Awful Everything' community, which is dedicated to the not-so-entertaining side of life.
In fact, the members of this group are all about the most upsetting, unjust, and ridiculous facts from day-to-day life. Covering various topics, starting with the problems of today's society, the abuse of power by the police force, healthcare issues, or simply the overall degradation of today’s world, the subreddit aims to point out what doesn’t work or works as it's not supposed to and open a discussion about it.

This Is Just Horrible
Insurance Denies Nausea Medicine To Chemotherapy Patient
But it seems that this one doctor is pretty brave and totally awesome.
Load More Replies...Europeans (and many other countries) just don't understand how Americans can live like they do. No holidays and no healthcare.
People here literally die waiting for approval by their insurance company to approve a procedure.
Load More Replies...I'm on zofran for sickness caused by an awful stomach condition and without it I am nauseous all day and night and throw up numerous times. Even on it, I throw up a few times a day. I cannot imagine a child going through that, on top having cancer. The US health system is wild, poor kid doesn't have a choice he has cancer either!
My insurance company turned down my doctor's prescription for supplemental oxygen. My average blood oxygen on any given day was under 70%. At that level, patients are advised to go directly to the emergency room, where they will receive... supplemental oxygen.
To be honest, I was lurking on BP for a while and I saw a lot of posts complaining about US. Health insurance companies. Sometimes I even wonder how the government doesn't realize that universal healthcare would benefit everyone. I dm pretty sure there wouldn't not be so many untreated mental illness related crimes either. But this... This letter gave a new depth of evil.
Universal healthcare wouldn't benefit the huge insurance companies and HMOs, who would then stop contributing vast sums of money to members of Congress. Another horrendous situation caused by the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court. (That decision, by the way, granted first amendment rights to corporations, on the grounds that they are "people".)
Load More Replies...The US healthcare system is absolutely vile. People who are suffering have to choose between receiving lifesaving treatments or sinking into financial ruin. Families with a sick child are wracked with constant stress about how they are going to afford treatment. It honestly makes me physically ill just thinking about.
It is an absolute nightmare in the US lately , my youngest has special needs as well as some health issues and is on six different medication's. Our health insurance refuses to pay for more then four and the cost of the two they won't pay for is outrageous. There a many days I go without eating just so I can make sure she has her meds I also work three jobs I don't know how much longer I'll last like this lmao.
Load More Replies...When I worked at my doctors office, I also did the authorizations for high tech radiology, the patient walked out ( barely) with crutches, she could not put weight down, already had an X-ray ( normal ) next step was an MRI, I was so sure it’ll get approved, they wanted her to try some meds first, then physical therapy, I was so upset, and so disappointed
Money is the only thing that truly matters in the US healthcare game... good health for profit only.
What gets me is, Hilary Clinton tried to bring us Universal Health Care way back in 1993. Conservatives, libertarians, and health insurance companies opposed the plan. She was vilified and it was a no-go in the Republican Congress. When Obama came up with the Affordable Care Act, which was the greatest leap forward on health care in American history, the only reason it passed was because we had a Democratic majority Congress at the time. And then for years Republicans bitched and moaned about it and threatened to undo it, even though it was a lifesaver for many people. In fact, some of the very people who needed it (poor and uninsured) opposed it. Why? Hell if I know. They just hated Obama. WHEN are we going to expand Medicare and have single-payer, universal health coverage?
As a medical biller, I wish I could write letters like this sometimes, especially when I am appealing anesthesia for an appendectomy..... because they deem it not medically necessary....
I had an insurance company deny my surgery for possible endometriosis, possible appendicitis because it wasn't life threatening 🙄. When I asked why they thought appendicitis wasn't life threatening I was told if he really thought it was appendicitis he would have put that first. So, he did on the emergency appeal and it worked 🤷♀️
Load More Replies...I have written to my wife's insurance company very similar letters. Drawing from memory I once wrote "The lack of XYZ medication forces me to call her doctors so I can help alleviate her symptoms. Invariably, they tell us to call 911 and go to the emergency room. I rarely do so because of the wait times and what little they can do for her, beside giving her XYZ intravenously. But if you refuse to prescribe XYZ for her, I will act upon every doctor recommendation to take my wife to the ER. That would be around 3 times weekly. Sometimes more often. What is going to cost less? A $500 medication you get a discount on, or over a dozen trips to the ER monthly?" My wife got the medicine approved.
Exact same thing happened to me: Started chemo only to find out the insurance company had rescinded doctor's prescriptions for anti-nausea medication. After a few days of agony, I ended up in the hospital for four days. I'm sure that paying for that stay cost them way more than the prescriptions did. Prescriptions I obtained after they realized how incredibly stupid they were being. No wonder health care in the U.S. costs so much, when there are morons running the show.
I thought it was bad enough that I received a letter denying me future zofran for the intermittent nausea caused by the med I take for my.leukemia (will have to take for life). But a CHILD receiving ACTIVE CHEMO?!?!?! Just wtf.
Yup. My health insurance (SilverScript) tried to pull the same thing on me by telling me that my asthma medication was not on their approved list. My pulmonologist literally had to go to battle with those fools. I'm waiting for the day when the insurance companies will no longer cover insulin for diabetics or nitroglycerin tablets for cardiac patients because they aren't in the list of approved medications.
And this is why, despite all the s@*t the NHS get, I am so happy we have them!!! Yes I'll still moan and curse that I have to wait weeks, months sometimes longer for an appointment and/or treatment, but I'd rather that than make myself homeless to pay above the odds for a single paracetamol!!! Yes that's an exaggeration, but you get my point!!! "Land of the Free" my a**e!!!!
Of course it’s United Healthcare. They have a nerve calling themselves that. It should be called “United Shareholders Who Don’t Give A Sh!+”.
Rick Scott was chairman and CEO of Columbia/Hospital Corp. of America (HCA) in 1997 when the FBI and IRS raided HCA. He was forced to resign. HCA pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and agreed to a $600+ million fine, then the largest health care fraud settlement in U.S. history. HCA admitted to overcharging the government by striking illegal deals with home care agencies, and by filing false data about use of hospital space. It admitted to fraudulently billing Medicare and other health programs. It filed false cost reports, fraudulently billing Medicare for home health care workers, and paid kickbacks in the sale of home health agencies and to doctors to refer patients. During Scott's 2000 deposition, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times. AND NOW HE IS A U.S. SENATOR. Welcome to America.
Now there's a good doctor. Insurance companies need to go the way of the dodo. We need Universal Healthcare in the US.
Insurance companies, practicing medicine without a license for way too damn long.
Learn french and come live here. Having a cancer is almost costless in France...
Wouldn't even have to learn another language, England, Australia and New Zealand all have the same free healthcare for cancer and just about everything else.
Load More Replies...Things like this need to be publicized and brought to every state/federal congressional session so our lawmakers can realize the struggle of patients regarding the asinine insurance policies that are allowed to exist.
I was “retroactively dropped” from insurance because they didn’t want to pay bills, so now I am so afraid to get sick, and I am recovering from a traumatic knee injury that I’ve had to borrow nearly $100,000.00 and climbing. American healthcare run by corporate financial vacuums… I wish more doctors could stand up for/with patients. (I have doctors that won’t treat me because ai don’t have insurance, or remind me how expensive the tests I need are. It’s about money. And there is no MonEy without me.
I feel like writing these kinds of letters all the time on behalf of my patients.
Yesterday I tried to make an appointment for my annual exam. Was told nothing open for the rest of the year (15 weeks left) and they have not released a calendar for next year's booking. But hey, I got to "keep my doctor ". Too all those Republicans who spread fear that socialized medicine will cause us to have to wait for care, well... I'd get flagged.
I’m pretty sure this letter was sent to/received by my Bonus-sister. She relishes in telling these patients “no”. It’s one of the many reason I went NC with her.
I'm *stunned* that it was United Healthcare. They're the a******s that basically told me that having skin is a preexisting condition. They denied coverage for a routine screening at my dermatologist because I'd had a routine screening in the past.
Sadly this how all most all docotor and nurses feel when dealing with insurance. Case: doc write a script that will work for you but you have to fail 2 other drugs first before insurance will pay for the actual drug prescribed they are called formulary and its true design is to not have to pay for a more expensive med
United Healthcare is one of the most evil, heartless corporations in the world.
Having a similar situation as well, but nowhere near as severe fortunately. My insurance won't approve the migraine relief medication my neurologist provided and that I NEED on the sole basis of 'we don't think you need it since you have that daily preventative.' Guess I just magically will never have a migraine again, i guess, because insurance says so! 😑
I've worked for a few doctors who wanted to send letters like that. They didn't because they didn't want to make the insurance companies angry and withhold payment and further stress out the patient (and the billing dept).
Outrageous but so characteristic of American healthcare insurers. The only option is the above letter from the doctor or doctors/hospitals taking out ads in the community telling everyone how cheap the insurer is, or threatening a lawsuit. Of course, nowadays the hospitals and healthcare insurers have often become one and the same, which means you have to fight and threaten the insurer without the help of the medical provider. If ever a revolution was needed in America, it is in healthcare!
Right there with you doctor kill the insurance company I have a long story about something similar. A doctor should be on boards for the approval of things like this.
Good on whoever wrote that letter. US healthcare should not have the word health in it. They let people die
As a survivor of 15 months of chemotherapy, anti-nausea medicine is more than an absolute must. You also deserve (i.e. need) additional time off, assistance with labor-intensive tasks, and an entire list of other small conveniences.
My wife has a friend who's an RN. For most of her career, she did neonatal ICU. A few years ago, she wanted to switch from overnights (7p-7a) to something with a more "normal" schedule (M-F 8-5), so she got a job doing "utilization review" for an insurance company. It became clear to her right away that it was less about finding the *right* solution for a patient's issue(s), than it was about finding the *cheapest* solution--even if the cheapest solution was, for that patient, much less effective. She'd actually get in trouble if she tried to advocate for the more effective solution. She was so disgusted, she didn't last long in that job before she went back to full-time nursing.
I just won my battle with my insurance. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic in 2006 with hypogycemic trends due to mal-absorption from stomach surgery. Seems they've deemed me no longer diabetic so refused my test strips, my Dexcom G7 etc. much to the anger of my Endocrinologist, Gastroenterologist and my GP. WOW! Amazing that some suit fresh out of college has discovered a cure for diabetes!! Who knew! Maybe I just grew out of it?
Was denied a specific pain medication that for reasons was the only one I could take. Insurance denied at first. Even though my doctor was going on vacation and it was a holiday weekend he gave me his personal pager number and emergency appealed, telling them they could either pay for the meds, or pay for him to admit me back into the hospital for the 3 months I needed it. They reluctantly approved for half of what I needed. 😏🙄
Something Something Worst Timeline
This is not as clear cut as people think it is... it might not be fair (what is?), the employers will most likely never hire a disabled person if they will have to pay them the same and in a lot of cases a disabled person won't be as productive as an abled person. Its sad, but it is true
In everyday life, we often pay more attention to bad things and use strong words to describe them. But when it comes to good or just okay things, we tend to overlook them. Think about it: if you had a nice day at work but someone said something mean, what would you remember more—the good day or the hurtful comment?

This happens because our brains are wired to react more to bad stuff than to good stuff. It's like a built-in alarm system. Sometimes, people can use this to trick us, or we can use it to connect with others better.

F**k Drunk Drivers
There's been a huge uproar and protests against drunk drivers in my country after a series of accidents over the last few months (the most shocking of which was a 15 y.o. boy run over by an intoxicated jerk, while crossing the street). About 9 years ago, there was a really nasty accident in my hometown where a careless driver backed straight into a 2 y.o. kid (in a pedestrian zone). Alas, he didn't make it...
