I've used one of those yearly Pocket Planner's you buy at CVS for over 40 years, ever since college when I used to write down when all of my assignments were due and tests were to be taken. I absolutely love seeing the whole month At-A-Glance, and other months in advance. I cross out every day as it occurs. Very satisfying to check off appointments and tasks.

I'm retired and clean the house, do laundry, and change the sheets once a week. My husband still works at home so his only household task is to cook a simple dinner 4x/wk (the rest of the week we eat at friends or go out). He always cleans as he goes, rinsing the dishes we eat on at the end which I place in the dishwasher. It works.

ABSOLUETLY! My husband thinks I buy enough "c**p" for myself, so he doesn't buy me presents. If he does, he buys me whack stuff that's cheap and then gets mad when it breaks or I don't use it. At 14, after really struggling with religious questions, bullies, and abusive parents, I went to a private alternative high school. There, the man who ran the school used to read dystopian novels to us in order for us to learn to "question authority." I wish my self-admitted 'big-mouthed' husband would learn this - and the, he often speaks to provoke and even doesn't stopped even though he knows I've had enough.

Also, don't just assume someone wants your dog to come up to me. Example: My husband and I were walking our 22-lb Boston Terrier today and met a neighbor along the way. Backstory - he's met and petted our very friendly dog before. However, this time he flinched and stepped back; seems he'd been bitten 6 weeks prior by a seemly friendly dog who suddenly bit him! I've reminded my husband before that not everyone wants 'our precious' dog jumping on them, but I hope this is a good reminder why.

Or when I've just woken up and haven't even had my coffee. My husband is an early-riser and an extrovert. He'll rush into the kitchen singing loudly, asking if I want the left-over waffle batter taken out of the fridge, and what time do I need to leave (same time EVERY morning).

I used to warn about cops. With the number of people lately that have been doing double the speed limit, passing in no passing zones and around booking curves, blowing through stop signs and crosswalks, I've stopped. Some of the people near me need to lose their license before they kill someone. *Do still warn about deer, though

Not true. If you cook to "Do something nice for your partner/spouse" and then they walk into the kitchen and it's a bombsite, you lose a lot of goodwill. When you cook, clean as you go, and leave the kitchen tidy. Person that doesn't cook clears the table. If it's a routine division of labour, that can be different, but you still clean up as you go, just might leave the washing up neatly stacked beside the sink.
