thank you! the blue ink just washes out like that! It's a Japanese Fountain pen ink called HaHa that's mainly a soft blue but can change when wet overly wet on paper.

I draw a rough sketch of my reference photo and work on about 6 inch areas. I look for the shapes I see, not the whole piece . I use regular paint brushes, sponges and stiff sten il brushes to get my texture correct. Thanks for asking!
