What impact did Disney have on your childhood (granted that it did at all)? Did it inspire you? Did it make you dream about being a princess or a prince? Did it help you spur your creativity?
Well, for these artists, Disney never ceases to be a pool of inspiration, especially when it comes to its female heroines. Whether you get the Disney appeal or not, we can all appreciate these artistic attempts solely for their artistic value. Beautiful artwork from various creatives keeps popping up on social media feeds so, once again, we have compiled a list to show off the pieces that we liked the most. She worked hard to get those legs, of course she has to show them off!
This is closer to fact. Disney remade her to fit modern "beauty standards ". In reality she was fairly short and what is currently considered overweight. Beauty standards are a load of hogwash. In her historic portraits I think she's a little cutie. They shouldn't have felt the need to glam her.
I love this! Disney tends to use a consistent body shape for all of the main women. I think that all shapes and sizes can be beautiful, just like this gorgeous girl!
I refuse to watch her movie anymore after reading up her historical context. She was stolen from her people, forced to give up her first child, raped and ultimately murdered.
Honestly, Disney should never have made a movie about her. She was kidnapped from her tribe, her first son was taken from her, she was raped and ultimately murdered by those who stole her. There is nothing happy to what happened to her.
She was also much younger and the guy she fell in love in the second movie is they guy she married in history John Smith was a friend who taught her to read and speak English
disney really should make more movies saying ur great just the way u are
This is not promoting obesity, this is depicting Pocahontas as she actually was. In reality, she was described as overweight and short. Disney movies have made her conform to today’s rigid standards of beauty. And really, I think, nothing good will come from promoting our society’s unrealistic body expectations.

If you follow Bored Panda you have seen Disney Princesses turned into everything under the sun.
You mean the cookie cutter portraits of archibald.art.

I really appreciate the work and re-imagining of other artists, but what is the obsession with redrawing Disney Princesses? I feel like whenever there is nothing to report on in the news or discuss in greater details, listicle sites fall back on the old trope of: "Here are 50 Disney princesses re-imagined as members of 1980s hair bands." Perhaps, I'm finally getting old and out of touch- oh, no! (The horrour). Why not redraw Marvel characters or characters from other books, movies, and novels. Perhaps feature work by artists designing their own original characters as well. I would love to see some original character designs.
I just realized something. Disney princesses are our collective culture's gods. Every culture has statues and paintings of its gods and their stories in multiple iterations. They even have their "domains". Goddess of books, goddess of the sea, goddess of war, goddess of the forest, goddess of magical hair.
I love how you can see all of the different artists styles... but there are a few too many of them.
Yah all they did was either give them legs or pretty-fy them. I was expecting more. But if the title changes it would be more accurate
There person who did the same bust, reworked over and over also did the wedding dress ones and others on this list. I think the ones that look like this are part of a series, kinda like a Warhol. Click on his link below a picture and you'll see what I mean. He's very talented and far from lazy. The link says archibald.art
I love all of the different artists that contributed and how some have different body shapes. It's very unique and I appreciate the modern touch.
Which ones, exactly? And can we see examples of your art , please? #Calloutbullies
