Most people know the saying "Eyes are the windows to your soul." Well, this 22-year-old artist from the Maldives created a whole project based on that. Her name is Maldha Mohamed and she paints beautiful, realistic eyes full of emotion. "I felt inspired by painting the eyes as I'm a firm believer that the eyes are the only part of one's being that can truly depict a person's vulnerability," she told Bored Panda.
Maldha also mentioned that she wants to convey the emotions by drawing just an eye, not the full face: "I felt inspired to paint just the eye because an expression can be interpreted a thousand different ways."
"While I do give them names such as lust & desire, there are people that see it as something more, as a completely different emotion. It excites me to paint them, as I try to make them as raw as possible, to give it depth and life as I won’t be creating the same eye twice." What emotion do you see in the paintings? I always think I'm doing pretty okay art-wise, and then I see something like this
Is it just me or do most of these eyes look like David bowie? Or have I got bowie on the brain from the sea slug post.
Bowie will never not be a slug to many of us now.
Load More Replies...Yeah I thought that was an interesting style choice too. Kind of a grossly weird texture I would never think to add to the skin around you eyes. Overall I still really like his art though

Ok, clearly I'm odd, but maybe I'm not the only one - was anyone else made a bit queasy by the texture created by the thick paint around the eyes? It put me in mind of melting flesh and knocked me ill. Don't get me wrong, the skill is unreal, but the texture just didn't sit right with me.
