Anti-Vaxx Parent Asks Stupid Question About Their 2-Year-Old’s ‘Outside Bedroom’, Gets Equally Stupid Answers

Anti-Vaxx Parent Asks Stupid Question About Their 2-Year-Old’s ‘Outside Bedroom’, Gets Equally Stupid Answers

People often like to say that “there’s no such thing as a stupid question.” Well, while the quest for knowledge is always a noble one and it’s always better to ask than remain in ignorance, sometimes you’re going to get the kind of answers that your query deserves. This plea for recommendations put forward by the father of a 2-year-old is a perfect example.

The boy, Jericho, is unvaccinated. Warning sign right there. Apparently, this intrepid toddler loves to stay outdoors, roaming the plains and having such adventures that coming home for his curfew is an almost impossible shackle on his freedom.

Clearly, the answer to this nomadic nipper’s uncontrollable wanderlust is to move his bedroom outside. Perhaps then he will befriend a family of wolves, who will take him into their pack and teach him the ways of the wild, living forever vaccine-free and truly as nature intended.

Oh, but he really likes yellow. Does anybody have any yellow outdoor furniture for him to sleep on out there?

It’s fair to say that people were incredulous, and responded with some hilarious and savage comments. Some took aim at the poor boy’s name, which kind of suits the holier-than-thou organic natural spiritual vibe this family gives off.

Others couldn’t help but wonder who poor REBECCA is, perhaps a common-sense neighbor who dares to ‘debate’ their lifestyle choices. What business is it of hers if little Jericho is wondering around unsupervised and unvaccinated, anyway?

And people couldn’t fail to notice that, for a two-year-old, little Jericho is remarkably advanced in his wanderings. As many were quick to point out, how does he understand his curfew? Has he learned to tell the time by the position of the sun? Does he wear a watch? Pretty sure when I was two I wasn’t able to understand much more than where the milk was coming from.

Of course, there were the usual savage anti-vaxxer jokes too, but for me the real winner was the last one. The irony is strong and it makes for a putdown of biblical proportions.

I think this parent would clearly cross border to child abuse by moving the son's "bedroom" to the outside. Anyway, does anyone know whether this is satire? I've read a lot coming from dumb parents but this sounds to stupid.

So you can all judge me for what I am about to say because it is worthy of harsh judgement, but as I read through the comments I was just left with this overwhelming desire to give each one of my children ridiculous names because I now want to say the words "My daughter, Onomatopoeia, is three and makes organic soap" so bad because it just makes me laugh so hard. Then my son, Apocalypse Meow, can make artisanal cheese. Why do I want this so much? I shouldn't have children you guys, I just can't resist ruining their lives for my own amusement.

Well, this is timely. I've just been reading about a 6 year old in Oregon who spent 47 days in hospital with tetanus, running up a bill over $800,000, and STILL his anti-vaxxer parents refused to give him the recommended second tetanus vaccine after getting him home. The kid could have died, but gosh he wasn't risking autism from that tetanus shot!

Wait, people actually think this is real? It's clearly a sh** post followed by troll posts. Whose 2 year old is walking around in the wilds, understands the concept of a curfew, and subsequently time (I suppose), and just doesn't want to show up to the house on time? And then the parent feels the need to make it apparent that (first) the kid isn't vaccinated (why would that even need to come up?) and (second) the fact that they're going to force their kid to sleep outside at night (clearly abuse or at minimum neglect)? Yall are dumb if you believe this is real. Use your noggins.

Buy the kid a tent. They make big ones, ten feet by ten feet. There's a nice lamp you can get at Costco that you can set on a laundry basket nightstand. Costco also has great foldable cots and electric blanket sleeping bags. By his age if he's still unvaccinated, he does have a lot of immunities built up. There are some things to worry about, but billions of people don't get vaccinations and live sixty to seventy years. Just teach the kid good hygiene early onsnd he'll have a better chance at good health.

I like the comment about crotchfruit! Never heard that word! But the MMR mom has my vote! I would have a vial and syringe ready to go and if he accidentally fell and skinned his knee I’d give him “ antibiotics” called MMR, DPT,SMALL POX, CHIXKEN POX AND POLIO. SO HE DISNT GET AN INFECTION! Of course I’m assuming his mom lets him have antibiotics, and that she assumes if he get a viral infection like what we get vaccinated for, that she doesn’t realize antibiotics don’t work against viruses... and I will assume that, because she has t read any info on the diseases she doesn’t want vaccinations for... then, I’d annomously send her written material on all these diseases with pictures, side effects and the whole shebang. Maybe then she might understand.?

While I'm not defending not vaccinating your kid (because seriously, it's 2019), it is not uncommon for newborns in Sweden to nap outside during the day and while I personally bedshare with my soon to be two year old, if the outdoor room is set up appropriately (like say a sunroom or maybe even a veranda if you live in an area with appropriate weather) and the child has access to the parents and the parents have easy access and ability to check on the child and I guess you would have to feel that you have gates and stuff and are not afraid of kidnapping I don't see why a bed outside in nice weather would be a problem.

You'd be surprised how many parents don't vaccinate. Recently a young unvaccinated boy got tetanus, the first case in years, he was hospitalised and nearly died. Parents were antivaxx, walked out with an 800,000 bill, and still refused to vaccinate. They weren't even charged with child abuse. After their child nearly died. It's sickening.

Be nice if this site wouldn't push their antivax views with various articles mocking people who have actually researched the subject and just didn't buy the government's and Big Pharma's propaganda. Science has indeed proven that social media antivax soap box Moms are painfully wrong. There is no science to prove their case.

I have encouraged my three-year-old son, Gandalf, to French-kiss his hamsters, ferrets, and pot-bellied pig, so he should be immune to everything that's out there by now. I let him indoors twice a week to scrounge for the crumbs that collect under the sofa and TV tables. Stale crackers are a good source of penicillin.

When did Bored Panda become such a negative hate forum? At any chance it'll run stories about antivaxxers (who yea are really r******d) and PETA (who say & do some really ridiculous stuff) but is it really necessary for everyone to jump on board on the slander bandwagon and just hate on these people? Not really sure that's the most intelligent way to instigate change.

The weather is getting nicer and my daughter, Alimony (not vaccinated) does not support the concept of bathing. She's beginning to grow vegetables on her skin. Just wondering if anyone has any tasty recipes for wheatless bread... Our 1yr old, Dingleberry (self-circumcised) now refuses to eat anything his big sister hasn't grown.

There are two sides to evry story, and unfortunately, too many people are only hearing the one side before making up their mind.

The "one side" has been proven to an absolute, that's why. The mocking of people who are antivax is definitely warranted. Science has indeed proven that social media antivax soap box Moms are painfully wrong. There is no science to prove their case. (Also, I'm sure you meant "be nice if this site wouldn't push PRO-VAX veiws...")
