Imagine this: you order a product on the internet and wait days—or even weeks—for it to arrive. When the parcel finally shows up, the thing inside barely resembles what you ordered. Then again, maybe you don't have to imagine this. Maybe you know the pain of dealing with a refund system that seems designed to test your will to live.

To illustrate just how funny and frustrating online shopping can be, we've collected a set of pictures showing people's most disappointing experiences with it. From tiny pools to terrible knock-offs, these examples prove you must always read the reviews before checking out.

Ordered A $1000 Graphics Card From Amazon, Received 4 Cans Of Beef Ravioli

What I Ordered vs. What I Got

Comparison of online shopping sweater listing versus received product showing careless online shopping backfired moments

My wife ordered a very nice Irish Sweater from a site called ArtsWardrobe.com.
So it looked like a really awesome knit (actually a fairly complicated pattern) in the image.
She ordered it and got a printed sweatshirt with poorly-sewn hems on a low quality polyester fabric.
    Description says “knitted” not printed.
    TLDR: don’t order from ArtsWardrobe.com

I'm no enemy of saving a few bucks, but I wouldn't dare to order a "suprisingly cheap weightlifting bench", as it supposed to hold my weight and the weights at the same time, and if it crumbles that causes a potentially serious accident.

Walmart.com has gone down the path of drop ship vendors. I don’t know how the backend works, but sellers can post their product on Walmarts site for visibility, and it will say sold by xyzcompany, fulfilled by Walmart or xyzcompany. So yes, both can be true

I buy from Temu and have gotten some decent stuff. You have to be hyper aware and read the descriptions very carefully and remember that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". That said, I have been able to find some items that are exactly the same as on Amazon for a fraction of the price. I would NEVER buy clothing on Temu because from everything I have heard it is that gross, slick polyester that does not breath.

For a bridal bouquet? C’mon now. Online ordering instead of visiting a florist? Yep, you’ll get less flowers for the same money but they’ll look proper. Skimp on the favours or get cheaper shoes but if you need a bouquet then that’s where you should invest, they are a focal point.

Agree. A wedding bouquet is not just a bunch of flowers. A good florist can recommend which flowers to use because of wilting or a strong scent.

Amazon return scam. Scammer purchases item from Amazon. Carefully opens and removes item from box and puts something else in box that is the approximate weight. Returns box with wrong item inside to Amazon and gets a refund. Amazon processes the return and unless there is something very obviously wrong with the item will restock it on the shelves. You go to purchase from Amazon. When your item arrives its that returned box and you get a bag of pasta instead of Jurrasic World. Generally speaking, once the item is in Amazon's hands it is mostly impossible for them to connect the bad return to the scammer and they get away with it. I've been a seller on Amazon for 14 years and have had to deal with a fair amount of return fraud.

The paddle isn’t feathered, if you capsize on a sit-on-top like that one you don’t end up upside down, the boat does but you just fall off and if you are wearing a PFD (as you should be) then you can’t read the shirt. Oh yeah, the shirt is printed incorrectly too but any paddler worth their salt wouldn’t buy that abomination anyway.

Use your credit card. Chargeback. Item not as described. They'll pull the money from AliExpress and they can go after the fraudulent seller. I'm not a fan of the current administration but I 100% appreciate everything they are doing to build a tariff wall between the U.S. and China. There are some good business people in China and there are a hell of a lot of scammers and they give zero f***s about hurting anyone to make a Yuan.

Christmas Present Tommy Bahamas Blanket Had Big Hole In It When Opened

I bought this online as a present and wrapped it when it arrived. Gave it to a person as a gift today and when they opened it, immediately went to a big hole in it! I was mortified and apologized and promised I would exchange it and get a new one for them. When I get home, turns out the blanket was final sale, no returns or exchanges. Cool. I wouldn’t be surprised with like a Temu or Big Lots blanket, but I am surprised with a kind of expensive blanket from a brand like Tommy Bahama. So imho don’t buy Tommy Bahama, there stuff is a joke and the customer service is a joke.

    "New" Mouse, Old Packaging

Damaged and poorly taped Corsair M65 RGB Ultra Wireless mouse packaging, showing careless online shopping fail.

So, I decided to treat myself to a new gaming mouse. Ordered this Corsair M65 RGB Ultra Wireless from Amazon, expecting a brand-new experience. What I got instead? A box that's seen better days, with clear signs of being opened and likely used. Amazon, come on! I paid for a new product, not someone else's leftovers. And don't even get me started on the potential hygiene issues... If you want to sell open-box items, fine. But at least be upfront about it and offer a discount. just so everyone knows thats not how diatomaceous earth works. its a very very very very soft type of sedimentary rock made of the fossilized remains of ancient hard shelled algae and micro organisms. you couldnt make a bath mat that was "100% diatomaceous earth" as the only way to get 100% Diatomaceous earth is by buying the raw powder. even when its used in filters its bonded with some sort of coagulant or trapped in some sort of fine screen. this would be like trying to buy a rug made from "100% baby powder"

Nah. It's so they can sell the same item in 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 count without needing to change the main packing process, which is probably the more expensive part. A much simpler machine can simply wrap and label in whatever total count they want to sell.
