Some things in this world need time to mature. Cheese and wine, relationships, our self-esteem… But they are not what this post is about. Quite on the contrary—we will be looking at things that miserably failed the test of time and made it into full walk of shame mode.

Thanks to the subreddit “Aged Like Milk” and its 713k devoted members, we have this precious collection of some pretty things, said or done, making a solid U-turn. “A subreddit dedicated to all those things in media and elsewhere that didn’t stand the test of time, at all,” states the community’s description and here you go, my attention is yours.

Let's scroll through some of the sourest cases below that will remind us all to think twice before letting something out into this world.

Funny thing is, he got elected four times, so you would think those "rights" would have become reality if it weren't for interfering politicians with self serving agendas.

I don't like semantic arguments on who was first, when the "firsts" were so indecisive. It's arguing whether something counted or not. A less-disputable fact is who made the first powered flight of all time, which was Henri Giffard who piloted a steam-engine powered airship 17 miles in 1852. That's a much more decisive 'first'.

In order to not regret things you said or did and make them stand the test of time, you gotta be really good at decision making and being aware of what the future holds. But even then, it’s just a very human thing to do.

Unless you’re a superforecaster. It’s the practice of prediction that covers everything from whether a currency will become stronger, one country will invade another, or there will be civil unrest in a city. Superforecasters calculate the probability of something happening and then adjust that as circumstances change. In this way, they’re able to come up with consistent predictions.

George Floyd was not admirable, but he was a human being who deserved to be treated with basic human dignity. The justice system should have given him accountability and any help he needed. Instead it murdered him for a very trivial offence.

Okay then - yes, George Floyd was not 100% innocent. Yes, George Floyd was not a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Does that make it okay for him to be brutally killed in front of groups of people, strangled although he said he could not breathe? No!

Of course it doesn't.... but it doesn't make him a hero or role model for the world either. And he wasn't strangled. Nor was he murdered. That means the cop showed up on scene and decided with intent he was going to take Floyd's life. That's not what happened. He may not have deserved to die but he definitely had some measure of responsibility in creating the situation in which he ultimately died. If BLM is to be believed, at least based on the way they have approached this situation and many similar, black people bear no responsibility simply because of the color of their skin.

Wow. The comment section is heated af. I just want to give my opinion. Even if one wants to argue that Chauvin didn't kill George Floyd, denying medical attention to a sick/dying person, more so a person who kept shouting "I can't breathe" is murder on its own.

But it’s much more complex than that. According to Bloomberg, superforecasters did not accurately predict Brexit, putting the chances of a Leave vote at 23% in June 2016—the month of the referendum. Their predicted figure had been higher a few months previously, but they had adjusted the likelihood downwards, reports the BBC.

Already the Ulster Loyalist DUP, the Fishermen, and the Beef Farmers have been thrown beneath the bus, some big companies are moving to Europe causing job losses in Britain and the Brexit will accelerate Independence for Scotland and the end of the UK as we know it. As they say, be careful what you wish (or vote) for.

The realy old dry cell batteries back in the day didn't have a sealed case so would not explode but boil and the zinc would melt. Do that with modern batteries and the rosk of them exploding is high so DON'T DO IT!

Those were zinc-carbon batteries, I assume. They probably weren't that poisonous to burn, but zinc fumes alone can't be healthy.

This is the problem companies have... concentrating on what others are doing and not themselves. Apple might be a horrible company, but for the longest time, they acted like everyone else didn't exist, they compared their new phones with their old phones

Yes! That was always Apple's superpower. "This thing that's borderline impossible with today's technology and market, let's figure out how to mass produce it". Microsoft was once like this too with software in the early days of PCs.

Windows Phone was actually pretty nice, I had one. It just couldn't get a foothold in the market due to the dominance of Android and iOS. Hardware and OS were good, but people didn't develop apps for it and that killed it.

People forget microsoft had in 1995 the first smarphone with internet, but it was too early, and failed, so they shelved it. Then when they got back in again, they were too late in a crowded market. Similar to what happened with them and tablets, they had the first one in 1991, backed out, and then came back in too late.

A friend of mine rigged up a van really nicely for camping, & traveled from England to Europe on a "Pre-Brexit" tour, in 2019. He traveled up to Germany, then back south to Spain, went to Gibraltar & crossed over & went to Morocco. He then went back to Spain, with plans to travel up the coast & back to England - that's when the pandemic hit & he was stuck in Spain for months on end. He was lucky that he had the van & could 'camp' in beach areas, but he did have to move once to another beach campsite because of local hoodlums coming into the campsite to harass & rob the people that were stuck there. He's back home in England now, safe & sound.

It's not really the issue of eating meat or people not knowing where it comes from, it just seems sort of hypocritical to pose for a post that seems to be advocating for turkeys not to be eaten en masse during thanksgiving and then posting a picture of your thanksgiving turkey a few days later.

This is why I roll my eyes at surveys about the mindset of this group or that group: one could make survey results to say whatever you want them to. It depends so much on who is being asked and what the questions are. There's a big difference between "Do you see yourself using technology in the future if improvements are made?" and "How often do you turn off the internet because of issues with access?", for example. And it also depended on if you were asking people who were comfortable with the technology or if they were intimidated by it.

Blockbuster, AOL, and Kodak, three previously dominant companies that failed to adapt to the changes in their respective markets. Kodak should be up the with the Nikon's, Canon's and. Fuji's in the world of digital photography, but they clung to film(which many still use, but digital is where it's at now).

Kodak even had a chance to be huge again in the 2010s, but once again made a terrible business decision. They are the inventors of OLED technology. They sold the tech to LG in the late 2000s rather than invest further into bringing it to market themselves. LG has licensed the tech to every major computer and tv manufacturer on the planet.

Yeah but Eurovision is a political contest anyway. The music is secondary so I wouldn't consider this a reflection n his work.

There is indeed a bit of bias with some countries, because of which even the worst songs get at least some points (e.g the 12 points exchange between cyprus/greece), but if you have a really good song you will end up on the left hand side of the score board. After all, the Netherlands doesn’t have really close friends in Europe either, but we won in 2019.

And they decided to assault an elderly man who didn't step aside fast enough to their likings because they were in a hurry to violently end a peaceful demonstration.

Though I will never defend a sexual predator, I find it odd how he's the only one constantly being scapegoated, considering many others from his time and some even more famous did the same and even worse. Kinda makes you wonder, ah!

Because of his actions after being accused. Claiming it was because he was gay and hiding it at the time etc. He is also about to star in an Italian film playing a man who was wrongly accused of the same things.... Just seems like a kick in the teeth to his victims.

Reminds me of the Mrs Merton interview with Debbie McGee. "So, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?"

They were together until he died though, and she was clearly devoted to him. Funny little joke, but the reality was rather sweet.

I always thought she was so smart and beautiful. Yep, that did not age well as it is not pretty to be so greedy, she lied about blood testing machined that would tell you all your illnesses and ailments with less than drop of blood, the machine was built but was a total hoax.
