People Tried Washing This Dog’s Eyebrows Off Only To Find Out They’re Not Painted

Sadly, there are a lot of stray dogs in the world. They don’t know where to go, what to eat or where to sleep. However, sometimes luck falls upon these pups and they find their forever homes.

That’s what happened to this unique dog. She was found on the streets of Bratsk, Russia. “Betty was just 10 days old. She was roaming the streets when they found her” – said her owner Oksana to Bored Panda. When people took her to the shelter, they thought someone played a mean trick on her and drew on some eyebrows, but after trying to clean them off, they realized they were just unique markings.

“Her eyebrows are her birthmarks from her mom and dad. The skin where the eyebrows are is darker than everywhere else. So nature decided it” – explains Oksana about her unique markings. Because of her unique features, the shelter decided to name her Frida in honor of the famous Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. When they posted about the dog on their website, she immediately captured the internet’s attention. They were all sending her good wishes and hoping that she would get adopted soon.

Here is a comparison to Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican painter

Oksana was one of the many people whose heart was captured by this adorable pup, “I saw her in the photo on the shelter’s website and fell in love. Many people called to pick her up but when they saw her, they refused” – she said. Oksana decided to take Frida home, however, she gave her a new name – Betty. “When I saw her, I cried. And when I picked her up, she immediately fell asleep, and again I cried with happiness.”

At first, Betty was a little bit scared. Oksana remembers that “it was necessary to carry her to the vet. She got all the necessary vaccinations and I’ve applied for her passport.” However, after all her hardships, Betty fell in love with her new family. “She is a gift of fate, smart, affectionate and loves children. I look at her and always smile. I am lucky to have the best dog in the world” – Oksana lovingly said about her new family member.

This unique pup is a happy dog now, and we are very glad that there’s a good ending to this story and that Betty found an amazing owner and a cozy home. Let’s hope that the other stray dogs in the world will find loving homes too, whether they have eyebrows or not.

She's GORGEOUS and I'm seriously jealous. I'm blonde and have invisible eyebrows - Betty's are fantastic.

Not all natural blondes have “invisible” eyebrows.

How anyone could refuse that adorable face is beyond me. Also, that dog has a better eyebrow game than I’ll ever have.

Betty is just to stinking cute! So glad she found a home with her human. And I am glad to hear that it took a little for Betty to get adjusted. I always see the posts of dogs getting adopted, and they immediately bond. I adopted a dog in February, and it seriously took a while to bond, he was so confused. I think it took us going on vacation, we used a dog service called Rover.com, we dropped him off there with all his stuff, and then picked him up.... he finally trusted us. I just love that little guy more than anything now, he has come a long way!

I love it when it looks like dogs and cats have eyebrows. Betty has a very sweet face and her "eyebrows" are beautiful!

I'm so glad that Betty (Frida) found a lovely home with Oksana. Those eyebrows make Betty very unique.

Should call that adorable dog Disney, since all Disney animals have eyebrows!

Why would anyone, like those who had first pick, reject her? She is adorable.

My muscovy duck hatched some ducklings. One had a black line above/across its eyes. He didn't lose the line when his feathers grew in. We called him Groucho.

If you love this story consider donating time / dollars to your country's Society for Prevention of Cruelty to animals. In Australia it is R.S.P.C.A - your state._________ and of course when you can adopt don't shop.

Now that is just plain freaky. What are the odds on such a mutation?

"Canine experts determined that the stray doggo is likely to be part-Husky with the distinctive eyebrows being indicative of this lineage."
