After Horrible People Abandoned These Puppies, They Got So Sick They Had Lost All Their Fur
When Kristina Rinaldi, executive director of Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR), went to collect 6 puppies from the animal control, she was shocked. The neglected puppies were found in an abandoned house in Detroit, Michigan. They were pink and hairless, with painfull sores all over their body. On top of that, they had fever and it seemed like they were burning. “When I say that these puppies were literally on fire, they were on fire,” Rinaldi told The Dodo. “They had high temperatures.”
The reason why the doggies lost their fur was a skin disease called mange. “I’ve seen a lot of mange cases in my dog rescue career, but this was the worst mange I had ever seen,” Rinaldi said.
Rinaldi rushed the puppies to a vet but unfortunately, 2 of them didn’t make it and died while on their way to the clinic. As for the other four… “The veterinarian said, ‘We’re working against the impossible,'” Rinaldi said.
They stayed at the care facility for about 12 weeks getting the right treatment. Meanwhile, staff members dressed them in baby onesies to help their skin heal. Soon they were ready to be adopted into loving forever homes.

Share on FacebookI have adopted abused dogs, and I have adopted dogs that never knew an unhappy day. I find those who were abused are much more loving and gentle, like they know our hearts hurt for their suffering and they are trying to heal us. Some say lucky puppies for being rescued; I say lucky families for rescuing each other.
My experience is absolutely balanced. 2 rescued - 1 super grateful, 1 little devil. 2 from loving homes -1 the most loving ever, 1 cocky lil b*astard (I love him though:P)
Load More Replies...On one hand you're right, but you can't forget the kind people who helped these dogs. In life there is always good and bad and lucky for these pups good people stepped in to help. I'd like to think there are more good people than bad.

Can't afford to splay your dog? Against your beliefs? DON'T get the dog! Better to splay than to not take care of the puppies. Got puppies you can't care for? LEAVE THEM AT A SHELTER. That being said, there are hundreds of high kill shelters around the country that systematically kill animals that were abandoned. OMFG stop breeding them if you don't want them!
Those poor babies! Mange is SO painful and itchy too. They suffered horribly! People are despicable!
It said in the description that they died on their way to the clinic. Sad stuff.
Load More Replies...Such a sad story, but what a brilliant transformation. And i'm delighted that these beautiful dogs have found their forever homes .
I am not sure if everyone knows this, but Mange is when tiny parasitic mites eat your or an animal's skin. The name itself comes from the Latin - 'to eat'. so, imagine having these parasites crawling and eating away at your skin the whole body over and is left un-treated? So, to leave an animal in this condition is absolute cruelty to say the least. My skin is crawling as I write this.
DDR is an amazing no kill shelter in Detroit. They accomplish amazing things with the dogs they take in. If you can, please donate.
I just don't get it. If someone doesn't want a litter of puppies why not just give them away? Is it really that much effort to put up some ads and interview a few people to find homes for your dogs? What is WRONG with some people???
that makes me cry how can people be so cruel, thank you thank you for caring so much for them and to the adoptise you will have beautiful loving and faithful babies
Thank you from the people who rescued them, the animal control officers, the vet and staff and the families who adopted them. Good Humans 😻
This is a lovely story. (I'm related to a full blast horrible woman, would not surprised me if they were hers.)
