There is something really strange about the regulars. They are your friends, co-workers and bouncers. Basically, they all know your name and relationship status.
2. Codewords
There are secret codes for disasters, that you use also when texting with colleagues.
3. The co-workers
All your co-workers have really strange nicknames. Like “Curly”. And “Vancouver.” It is very likely Vancouver has never been in Vancouver. At this point you can’t really ask.
4. “One beer.”
The tourists are the best and the worst customers. Seriously. “One beer.” There are 20 different kind of beers here, please make up your mind!
5. Hating your uniform.
The uniforms are extremely hard to keep clean.
6. The microwave
You know how big part of cooking defrosting is.
7. Guinness
You always hope that the customer asks for Guinness first. But they rarely do.
8. Waving
And what is the point of standing behind a lot of people at the bar and waving? Are you drowning?
9. The coasters
Picking up beer-mats and labels is the worst. How did beer get so sticky? And who is the horrible person who destroys beer-mats and leaves them on the floor?
10. “Suprise me.”
And why does everyone keep asking for a surprise cocktail?
11. “Can I have a free drink? I had a birthday month ago!”
There is always that one customer who repeatedly asks for free drinks.
12. Kids
If you don’t have bouncers there’ll always be children trying to get served.
13. The leftovers
When you are cleaning after the customer who left the plate almost full. And you haven’t had a break for ages. And you would just want to have a bite. The struggle is real.
14. The toilets
You have avoided cleaning the toilets by strange excuses.
