Gift-giving holidays may be fun for kids, but they’re often a nightmare for couples, as they tend to lay bare each partner’s memory (or lack thereof) of the other. One man just shared a story of how he faced the ultimate ‘husband test’ when buying pajamas as a Christmas present for his wife 5 years ago – remembering her size.
His confusion was only worsened by the fact that he and his wife had, in his own words, ‘let themselves go’ in recent years, and that his wife had been suffering from depression as a result. He took a risk playing this game, and when the big moment arrived… Well, let’s just say a trusty tip from his dear old grandpa popped into his head at just the right moment.
As the guy himself summed the whole thing up, “dumb husband’s being dumb worked out.” For all the ‘dumb husbands’ out there, we’re sure you’ll be able to relate to this moment of sweet triumph on a highly spiritual level. Scroll down to read the full story for yourself, and let us know if any of your screw-ups have ever produced unexpected results.

This sounds like a recipe for disaster, but the outcome was something completely unexpected
Now pretty much everyone wants to give this guy an award for ‘Husband of the Year’

I think that this story was very heart-warming, no matter how many people think that this was c**p.
That's just so sad and wrong on so many levels while camouflaging itself as heartwarming, I don't even know where to start...
Well, find a place to start. The guy and his wife both got healthier and sexier in each other's eyes. That's all that matters. Who cares why.
Load More Replies...The title says he bought these by accident. Yet, the story relates he did not. He purposely chose a smaller size. Then he answers her question with a lie... that he thought she would fit in that smaller size. I wonder how she feels when she reads this? Maybe his motives were pure... but you shouldn't manipulate your partner. Can you encourage your spouse to get healthy? Yes! That's okay. But be open and honest.
I think this is BS made up by someone desperate to get something posted here
Suddenly every piece of hope on the internet is fake...
Load More Replies...This is not "fat shaming." This is a man wanting to keep his wife alive longer. He was heavy and unhealthy and had his own "ah ha" moment and wanted his wife to do the same and she did! She's obviously happier now and chances are will live a longer, happier life. We should be happy for them both!
So basically now the wife is "ok" because she is smoking hot ? Compared to before where she couldn't fit the pyjama he bought that was undersized ? I'm sorry but to me it's just not right ! Good for her if she found a balance in what she is doing now, but it's so sad that she does that "so her husband can find her sexy"... Man, you should have told her AGAIN and AGAIN that she was sexy BEFORE she lost weight...
Why? Is he not allowed to find her sexier when she is thinner? What if the genders were reversed and the woman was upset that he got heavy? What would you say then?
Load More Replies...I just with people would stop spelling "losing" wrong. Why is that particular spelling error — spelling it "loosing" — so damn common?
Choosing - loosing. For me, a person who had to learn English as a foreign language it felt natural to add two o's.

Body weight is something that in most cases can change, be controlled, or fixed with surgery, if not by a healthy lifestyle (of course, there will always be exceptions of serious cases when the solution does either not exist or is too risky, but generally speaking...). Broad shoulders, however, tall heights, robust or slim body constitution... These are things that cannot change even by the best surgeons, for now.

because it sounds fake. I honestly don't want to say it is. but there's several points of 'yeah, right,'. For one thing, most people struggling with weight loss don't have any single 'ah-ha' moments. Personally, in the course of loosing the forty pounds my doctor wanted off, there was several- about one every two weeks, on the slow side. and 'I need to be healthy so I can live longer' doesn't cut it. I'm with Sisko, I don't want to be a hundred if all I can eat is steamed azna. For another thing, he basically lied. To us: it wasn't 'accidental', he decided to purchase a size down on the off chance he got the size wrong. and then, if you read it, he lied to her: he said that he bought the wrong size because he thought she was loosing weight- I suspect this part was a mixture of not wanting to make her feel bad and wanting to cover his own a*s. I hope it's true, but I have my doubts and that's all I'm going to say about it.

The result is that we do feel depressed and believe that we are less worthy because that is the message we get everywhere. And I'm not talking about health here. I'm very healthy despite being "overweight" according to the BMI chart. It's getting to be this way for men, too. I'll admit that I was brainwashed to hate my body most of my life. I even broke up with my chubby boyfriend when I lost weight and got "smoking hot."
This particular woman is HAPPY that her husband inspired her to change her life. She feels she is a better person for making this change...for whatever reason. How about be happy for her or maybe inspired by her??
Load More Replies...Yeah this is just plain b******t, for a start after 20 years of marriage i know they don't give that much of a f**k about what each other looks like.
yeah, this is just a story made up by someone to get it posted. it just doesnt read like someone actually did this.
nice, people can do more if someone believes in them. including themselves. but I am missing one point in this story: what was his grandfathers advice? It doesn't seem to say it anywhere...
basically, the advice was, when you do something to get somebody angry or upset, divert them with a compliment. (Specifically, "you look like you've been loosing weight...").

the damage done to a womans body by children is pretty crazy. YOU.ARE.A.C**T
Inspiring her to be more happy and motivated is cuntish?
Load More Replies...What kind of jerk says he has been "happily married for 20 years" and doesn't even know his wife's size???
Well, to be perfectly honest, as a wife, none of the married men I know has a clue what size his wife wears !! Maybe I just know the ones who don't worry about it !!
Load More Replies...This article is so completely sexist. I work out so I can be as hot as my husband thinks I am. REALLY? It made me laugh so hard. She had a long, difficult battle with food due to self esteem and depression. And now she works out so she can be as hot as her husband thinks she is. No other reason, no other benefits. Just because of some pajamas. You gotta be kidding me that anyone thinks women are this simplistic.
So awesome! I think the story would be better and more legit if there were before and after pics to go along with it.
It would of helped maybe but regardless it was still nice.
