You might cringe as we say "good vibes only", but this group honestly is that. The 1 million blessed members share uplifting content that might remind you what the simple pleasures of life are. We might as well call it kindness in images that hug your heart.

You can probably notice that most of these pics contain animals. Looking at cute animal photos can make your day better. Whether it's a puppy or a kitten, seeing something cute can quickly make you feel happier and more positive. But why does this happen? Well, it might be for a few psychological reasons.

That is what more stupidly rich people should do with at least a portion of their money. If they won't (and you know they won't), tax it out of the greedy MFs.

One reason cute animal photos make us feel better is because they make us kinder. That makes sense, as not everyone is naturally inclined to help others. Studies have also shown this to be true, according to the National Library of Medicine: "When we see puppies, our brains release oxytocin." This makes us feel loving and attached to those animals (and sometimes to other humans too). That's why many folks who work at animal shelters choose to volunteer – they want to help animals!

That's actually a very sweet idea! Outside of work, the only human interaction I get is when I go to the shops, which is only once a week. Sometimes it's just nice to hear people chat, maybe even contribute a line or two.

Ummm. C.S.E., the friendly folks at my library and grocery store make me realize how much I enjoy just idle chit-chat . As a retired RN I pretty much used up those "skills" on the job.

I used to train customer service reps for a Medicare Advantage provider. We stressed that if a caller (most of them lonely old folks) wanted to just chat, go ahead and chat, it wouldn't hurt their work reviews. The company eventually created a kind of "social line" to get those sorts of callers to, recognizing that social interaction is a part of their mental health.

When I was a medical assistant extern at a family clinic, I got in trouble for chatting with patients. I was not taking an unnecessarily long time. But some patients, especially the elderly ones, would start conversation. I always engaged while taking vitals, and gave them a bit of my time while also making sure not to give too much that I was leaving other patients waiting. And I got talked to for it. Meanwhile, the medical assistants who trained me were rude, and short with all of the patients. One that I particularly disliked, would not even let them ask questions, and would cut them off mid-sentence. I could tell when people had their feelings hurt. During one interaction, I mentioned liking a patient's shirt. I think it was a Goonies reference. I can't remember now. It was some 80s pop culture thing. And we started talking about it--like just a couple of sentences. It wasn't even a 30 second exchange--and my trainer was like "You're not here to socialize."

One thing I'm learning that really annoys me about the USA is that middle managers and higher level managers (across all organizations) measure success in the most obtuse of ways. For example this slow checkout is by definition going to check out less people and consequently less sales over the course of a day. In the USA, some wise a*s manager would look at this and say "what a failed idea, let's dump it so we can optimize profits". The reason we can't have nice things is that corporations routinely do not prioritize the public good (despite all the flowery language they use about making the world a better place) - but when dollars and cents are counted, nothing gets in the way of that.

i also appreciate that it's got a few lanes for it and some lanes without. i think this so nice because some days i don't mind chatting, but when you're not in the mood, it's comforting to know you can run through and not have to feel pressure to be sociable

I would enjoy working this lane too. Probably not the preferred position for all cashiers, but I’m sure many would like to work the lane where speed isn’t the top-most priority. I try to be very friendly with all my customers at work, but sometimes we’re so busy and it’s sad when someone really wants to chat a bit but i see the line building behind them and know I need to move them along as quickly and politely as I can

I travel on train a lot and as I'm in a wheelchair, I use the mobility lounges (they're in larger stations) that obviously have many elderly. Often I'll get chatting to an elderly person (often to help them when staff are busy explain where the toilet is etc) and when they tell me I'm the first person I've spoken to that day, it breaks my heart. I'm deaf so it's hard for me to understand them and converse but I try my hardest.

Cool! Sadly most of the stores my area have recently converted to almost all self-check. Just yesterday I was waiting in line when a woman in front of me at a self-check got flustered and threw up her arms saying, “AHHHHH!!! I HATE computers! Where are the PEOPLE!!!!”

I'm sure this could offer a double benefit! They can hire cashiers who are maybe a little but slower but need to work still (I think of myself w health issues and being 52, probably not as fast as another cashier may be and need to sit down).

This is a wonderful idea. Once my children are grown and gone, and my husband was no longer with me, I became one of the chatty ones in the checkout list I had always exchanged a couple of pleasantries while going through the line. These exchanges really did lift my spirits as they may be the only humans that I saw that day to have a chat with.

Absolutely! Human interaction really helps me keep my sanity. It’s sad when stores keep directing me to “self-checkout,” or when a business makes impossible to talk to a live person, or when everything’s online or on an app. I went to the Post Office today to get a change of address form, “Sorry, we don’t have a hard copy anymore. You gotta do that online.” Really?? I’m 67. Grew up in a different world.

Looking at cute animal photos is a great way to feel happier. Cute animal pictures also help us deal with emotions and stress. When we see something cute, our brain releases a happiness chemical called dopamine. This makes us feel better overall.

What happens when you see a cute picture? Even though they're not real, they make our brain's pleasure centers light up in a similar way to how pictures of human faces do, thanks to the visual part of our brain.

Looking at cute animals can help you concentrate and work better, says a study in PLOS ONE. The research found that looking at adorable pictures of baby animals helps you focus on tasks like math or puzzles. It also makes you want to work harder and longer.

"It's really easy to take and share photos online nowadays – they're like the pictures of our lives," explains Jo Hemmings, a psychologist. "But because it's so easy, we often forget to look back at the pictures we've taken. This means we miss out on the happiness they can bring."

"Research shows that having actual photos in our home gives us a good feeling. They remind us of the people and things we care about, making our connections stronger!"
