Jimmy Carter was one of our greatest presidents and is an absolutely amazing human being. He was by all accounts, too nice to be in office and was forced out by political issues which he did not start but was none the less blamed for. I wish he could have run for president again but I am happy that he got to live out his life helping people

I was too young to really understand politics, but was always under the impression he was an unpopular president, esp. with the handling of the hostage crisis ( as an aside, remember how the evening news would start each broadcast saying “it’s been xx days for people are hostage?) As I’ve gotten older, I understand he is really nice man who lives out his Christian faith, and I admire him for it. He just wasn’t a great politician. He’s definitely more popular, admired and respected than he was as a president.

Jimmy Carter is a f*cking legend. IIRC, he volunteered to shut down the nuclear reactor on a submarine that was going critical, with no expectation that he would survive.

Any chance he can serve again? Teach our PM a decent lesson on how to serve a country.. (I live in England...I cannot remember, In my lifetime of 50yrs, a decent PM). Actually. Maybe John Major. But I suspect even BJ would have looked like a Saint after old Maggie..

Not one of the best presidents, but one of the best men who ever served as president. I actually shook this man's hand at one of his first-term running campaign stops in Hagerstown, MD. I was too young to realize the significance then. I do now.

For the purpose of being in compliance with ethical best practices. One of eight actions he took to avoid possible conflicts of interest while president. He sold all common stock and placed properties into a blind trust, which separated his ownership from control. Instead of grifting off his position, that farm was $1M in debt by the time he left office. That's how committed he was to serving the people over lining his pockets. Yes, details matter.

That is such a sign of a bygone era. Now every politician has their nasty fingers in every single pie they can make money from. The US political system is so corrupt and it is NOT a partisan problem. Biden loves to lie about his son's death (he did NOT die in Iraq, he died of cancer in the US), don't get me started about all of Trump and Biden's extracurricular activities). Each Ukranian citizen for $2600 from the US but our own residents in the Maui Fire got $700 PER HOUSEHOLD so far. I don't know why people actually want to come here.

Let's leave Biden's dead son out of this. He clearly believes his son's exposure to toxic burn pits in Iraq was responsible for the brain cancer that killed him. For him to misspeak and say that his son died in Iraq rather than because of Iraq shouldn't be called a "lie" unless you add that context (and even then I would call it an unfair characterization). Also worth noting that FEMA is underfunded as additional funds specifically designated to go toward wildfire prevention and disasters were voted against by republicans. The same republicans who are making what you just stated an extremely hypocritical talking point for the purpose of attacking Biden.

You can probably notice that most of these pics contain animals. Looking at cute animal photos can make your day better. Whether it's a puppy or a kitten, seeing something cute can quickly make you feel happier and more positive. But why does this happen? Well, it might be for a few psychological reasons.

One reason cute animal photos make us feel better is because they make us kinder. That makes sense, as not everyone is naturally inclined to help others. Studies have also shown this to be true, according to the National Library of Medicine: "When we see puppies, our brains release oxytocin." This makes us feel loving and attached to those animals (and sometimes to other humans too). That's why many folks who work at animal shelters choose to volunteer – they want to help animals!

Looking at cute animal photos is a great way to feel happier. Cute animal pictures also help us deal with emotions and stress. When we see something cute, our brain releases a happiness chemical called dopamine. This makes us feel better overall.

What happens when you see a cute picture? Even though they're not real, they make our brain's pleasure centers light up in a similar way to how pictures of human faces do, thanks to the visual part of our brain.

Looking at cute animals can help you concentrate and work better, says a study in PLOS ONE. The research found that looking at adorable pictures of baby animals helps you focus on tasks like math or puzzles. It also makes you want to work harder and longer.

"It's really easy to take and share photos online nowadays – they're like the pictures of our lives," explains Jo Hemmings, a psychologist. "But because it's so easy, we often forget to look back at the pictures we've taken. This means we miss out on the happiness they can bring."

"Research shows that having actual photos in our home gives us a good feeling. They remind us of the people and things we care about, making our connections stronger!"
