223 Lb Woman Reveals What 2 Years Of Fitness Does To Your Body, And Her Transformation Is Unbelievable
If you want to lose some weight, this story will definitely inspire you to tackle those excess pounds Rocky-style. Esbeidy Barrera was unhappy with her body, so she decided to make a change and hasn’t looked back ever since.
“Being the socially awkward/lame person that I am, I’m internally screaming because I’m a few pounds down from last time I weighed myself,” the 19-year-old writes. “I’ve never been this darn happy.”
Barrera claims she allows herself an occasional OREO cookie or other dirty pleasure. “I don’t believe in diets, <…> I just try to be careful.” She eats everything, only in moderation and it’s clearly working wonders! Combined with regular cardio and weight training, this helped Barrera to reduce her weight from 223 lbs (101 kg) to 144 lbs (65 kg) in slightly less than 2 years.
“I’m still alive from working out twice a day (if work doesn’t get in the way), waking up at 5 am to go to the gym, be at school at 8 am and then go to work until 11 pm BUT I got goals to reach.” If you ask me, she definitely deserves to be in Bored Panda’s list of inspiring people who shredded unwanted pounds, using willpower and hard work.

The gym has become her second home
And her progress is already inspiring people all over the internet
“Absolutely gorgeous,” one commenter said. “Congrats and keep it up! You’re stunning”
She most certainly does deserve to be in "Bored Panda’s list of inspiring people". And I can see why she still weighs in at 144lbs. Just look at those muscular thighs. Its all in sleek muscle weight. She's one beautiful young lady, and serves as an inspiration to one and all. Thumbs Up!
I honestly thought this was click bait... but what'ya know? This ended up to be inspiring/motivational!
Probably more like five if she's just getting off work at 11. If this is five days a week, it's not a heathy schedule.

She might not be dieting, but she's watching what the eats and she obviously is doing it right. I do not want to take anything away from her achievements, it's amazing, she is an inspiration. But people need to stop the b******t about shredding pounds at the gym - you shred them in the kitchen and the gym helps you get fit, two very different things. Telling people than just going to the gym will make them lose weight set unrealistic expectations for them and will lead to disappointment and frustration. It's not helpful.
You're right. But then, I noticed that when I do sports my body is naturally craving fo healthier foods anyway. And I get full with less. But then that might not be the case for everyone.

30 mins for 30 days can burn a lot of fat and work all parts of your body, in fact i'm going to do that this month
Exercise "burns" a very minimal amount of "fat" compared to the number of calories you actually ingest every day. If you want to "burn" fat you'd better start eating differently.
Load More Replies...As I have believed and tried to pass on, EXERCISE IS THE CURE. Our bodies are made to work, lack of physical demand from our modern conveniences has increased obesity. Once you embrace that physical activity- even in small ways such as actually raking leaves vs using a leaf blower- you will see the benefits. And as far as diet is concerned, as you exercise more, your body actually craves the better foods i.e not junk or over processed foods and you do eat LESS. Those who wish to lose weight must keep in mind how the body works. It must be exercise and a CHANGE of what you eat, not "getting on a diet" since getting on a diet means you will get off of it as well. You have to change how you approach food. Take a class in nutrition and your eyes WILL be opened.
Her weight loss has not made her somehow appear beautiful, its the rise in her spirit and self esteem that has allowed her to blossom. Good for her.
This is what I would like to see. This spreads a good message instead of that post about that fat women that had a photoshoot with her fiancé that just said that she accepted her weight as if she couldn't change it.
Look, the thing with the engagement post wasn't about whether or not she could or would lose weight, it wasn't about whether or not she was healthy, it was about loving yourself in the moment, as you are, and that's a good thing, even if you're too shallow to see it.

Don't just trust me, watch Oprah's special "Shame, Blame, and the Weight Loss Revolution". It's been studied at The Cleveland Clinic for twenty years but it's still a big secret. When some people can't lose weight, it's not will power, it's their body (Set point) fighting against them.
Get it girl!! Women in society are so quick to try to knock each other down. She was beautiful before and healthier now
She's happy with herself, she set a goal and she accomplished it. All you people trying to use this as a jumping point for ragging on the girl in the engagement photo need to worry about your own damn self and just let people live their lives.
If an alcoholic or a drug addict did a photoshoot saying they'll always be that way and have come to love themselves the way they are, I wonder if you would applaud them too! Obesity is an illness just like drug addiction or alcoholism. And one that can be treated the right diet, exercise and medical help (in some cases). But oh no, the in-thing right now seems to be to place such obese people on a pedestal and glorify their unhealthy lifestyle choices. Not sure how the health care system in your country works but if people have government funded healthcare, the money used to treat their obesity related diseases (Im talking about diabetes, hypertension, MI, stroke etc) comes from tax payers money and it stops being about just your life and your opinions.

i already woke up at five just to get to my job and when my 3 kids are finnaly in bed at 20pm i don't have time to go training like that. Lucky for her she doesn't have a family yet
She isn't lucky, she's just made smart choices. Having children is a choice. She also attends school as well as working so it's not like she has any more free time than someone with a job and a child. And she does already have a family, she just isn't a mother. There are millions of fit people who have kids anyway.

that's right, of course noone should exaggerate diets, though iam absolutely confident that this girl and anyone who is trying to lose this ammount of weight- has to starve eventually, (a lot) to turn those muscles into shape. That is definitely part of the process..it is a neverending catch phrase- that there is any way to loose weight without starving (in a very uncomfortable way).
Load More Replies...Let me guess.. She took in less calories than her body needed? Because that'll pretty much do it. With that said, good job, girl!
Did you bother reading the article? She lost weight because she got active and quit eating junk. That's not a "diet", that's a lifestyle change that she will have to keep up for the rest of her life. If you look at her now, that's what normal looks like. She's not fat, and she's not skinny. She's NORMAL.
