Wax Sealing Wedding Invitations

If people get an envelope with a wax seal, they know there’s something important inside. And what could be more important than an invitation to celebrate love? Australian calligrapher Moya creates gorgeous personal sealing wax wedding invitations, and the whole process looks oh-so satisfying. She experiments by mixing different colors of wax to get the desired “canvas” and uses custom stamps for the finishing touch. Wax was used to seal letters from about the 16th century, however other methods of sealing messages date back to the earliest civilizations.

I have done this. However, when I mailed the Xmas cards, all the wax came off and gunked up the Post Office machinery. No-one received the nice wax design. Would work if you hand delivered all your envelopes. These are beautiful though.
Maybe if one were to put the wax sealed envelope into another plain envelope to send out?
Load More Replies...I used to use sealing wax regularly - it's not as easy as it looks! Very satisfying when you get a perfect impression though.
I have 2 stamps, but the only wax that I can find is in a small stick with a wick...when I light the wick, the black from the burning drips into the spot of wax, and definitely looks terrible...does anyone know where I might find this type of wax?
